I booked the Washington Marriott for a Bachelorette Party weekend and I was not dissappointed!!! This hotel is conveniently located to EVERYTHING so we were only a short cab ride away from all the restaurants and clubs that we planned on visiting. The staff was super friendly. The hotel room was extremely clean and comfortable.The only negative was […] the expensive cost of valet. This hotel ONLY has valet....there is not a cheaper option for parking your car. At $45 a day this can add up....but honestly I learned that parking is expensive just about everywhere in Washington DC so I believe this to be the going rate for most hotels in the area. Read more

I bought this hotel package for some loved ones. Upon their arrival at 10:30 PM after a long day of travel, the record of payment through Expedia (since this was bought as a package) was not on file. Because the hotel refused to call Expedia for them, they called me to assist them. I spoke to the hotel directly and the night desk clerk was less than […] helpful and was refusing them their room even though he could see the reservation. While I was on the phone in another city speaking with Expedia who in less than 10 minutes had cleared up the problem, the hotel required that they pay for the room on their credit card in order to be checked in. They then had to call their credit card company to have the charges reversed once the matter was resolved. Additionally, when they missed the last tour bus back to the hotel, the hotel offered to pick them up, which would have been a redeeming service; however, after sitting in 22 degree weather for half an hour waiting they chose to walk the 7-8 blocks back to the hotel. I'm very careful to not post negative comments about places because everyone can have an off day; however, if you are looking for a hotel that cares, this is not it, particulary their night staff. Good location. Walking distance from museums, restaurants and the Metro. One disappointment though was the room given to us. I specifically booked for a room with a king-sized bed and got confirmation on this via email. However, when we arrived we were placed in a room with 2 double- sized beds. I asked the front desk person if we can be transferred […] but said there's no available room with a king-sized bed for that night even if I got a prior confirmation of my reservation. The hotel was just ok. My family members stayed around the corner at the Hyatt.....which was only 99 bucks a night, ALOT nicer and offered much more...plus had there own private entry to the Metro without ever leaving. The costs verses this hotle was 1/3 of price. I will not be staying at this hotel again...not for the money.

This hotel was great. The check in was fast and easy. I was given a room on the 15th floor, 1503. Room did not have a great view but that was ok. The bed was wonderful, restroom was nice and big. There was a refrigerator in the room that I used for left overs. They provided me with a small bottle of water which was nice. The room had a couch and ottoman. […] The hotel is close to everything and there is a metro entrance right in front of the hotel that takes you to all tourist destinations. The white house is about 4-5 blocks away and also very close to the washington monument and smithsonians. The restaurant in the hotel was very tasty and reasonably priced. Travel about 60 nites/year much into DC and always try and book a room here. This property has always exhibited friendly, helpful staff, and very clean and quiet rooms. Went for a mini vacation. Staff was excellent and very heelpful. Have stayed a Marriotts before and alwasy have had good experiences. Hotel is not far from the main attractions and there are many restaurants in the area. Staff was very attentive to our nrrds.

The location of the hotel is excellent, a few steps from the metro and walking distance to many landmarks and starbucks within the hotel. The room in general was okay, with extra charge for wifi in room. The other cons include very thin walls (can hear conversation from other rooms) and too soft a bed making it uncomfortable.

The hotel's location next to the Metro Center station is very convenient. It is also centrally located so you can walk to many landmark locations. The hotel is standard-- nothing special. You can find a better hotel for a lower price but you can't beat the location for its convenience.

The hotel was in a convenient location, the staff was very helpful and pleasant. I felt very confortable and they were able to assist with all of my needs. The gym was a plus so I was able to stay on track with my workouts and their was a small laundry. Outstanding stay. I would definitely go back to that spot again.

Everything was really good. You walk out the Starbucks which is in the hotel and the elevator to the metro is right there. Ford's theatre is 2 blocks away. Location is very good. Only 2 gripes are that the parking with tax is $47 a day! Yes... a day! So stay 5 days and your bill nearly $250 just for parking. That is outrageous. My daughter (21) and I spent a week in DC (her first visit) and I wanted a nice hotel near the major sites but still reasonably priced. The Marriott Metro Center was a perfect location for us. It is located very close to the Metro, which we took directly to Arlington Cemetery, and a very easy walk to the Mall. We went to most of the Smithsonian Museums, […] all of the Memorials on the Mall, and the Holocaust Museum. Ford's Theater and Museum and Petersen House are just a couple of blocks away, as well as the Crime and Punishment Museum and the Spy Museum. We enjoyed the shopping very nearby, and were impressed by the number of restaurants, all price ranges, within just a few blocks. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and our room was very comfortable. We can't think of a single negative about the hotel, including the price. A wonderful trip and a great place to stay! we arrived very late at night with our two college aged children and had booked a room with 2 beds. They had no more rooms with double beds, so for that first night gave us two rooms instead. That was unexpected but very nice. The doormen are all great and had recommendations on places to eat, where to park, etc...

Regarding cleanliness of room: in the bathroom, one towel was dirty, didn't look like stain, just dirty before use. Some hair on the floor. The mattress was soft and lumpy. I'm generally not a complainer. Room service was very good. Concierge folk and check out folk were friendly and competent.

This hotel is less than 1 block away from the Metro (Metro Center) which makes traveling around very easy- the hotel is walking distance from the Smithsonian and many other museums and sites too. Upon arrival to D.C. for the first time, it was quite overwhelming. Lots of people walking in the streets and it was 4 PM, rush hour!! We parked at the parking meter out front, because the extremely small valet area in front of the hotel was full. I checked in while my family waited in the car. I asked the man at the front desk if it was ok for my husband […] to park the car there for a few minutes while we brought our things inside. We planned on parking at the garage just around the block, instead of paying valet. The hotel employee said yes it would be fine. We go out side 10 minutes later and the Police had given us a $100 ticket for parking at the meter during rush hour (4-6 PM) I confronted the man at the desk, all he could say was sorry, yea you can't park there during rush hour. I would have liked to know that information when I asked him. The hotel manager was too busy to call me back. Also, they fail to mention that the hotel took out the hot tub, they still have it listed. Staff were polite otherwise. Read more
