"Not Great...Not Terrible"
My boyfriend and I spent a Saturday night at the Homestead. The first room we checked into was dirty (towels on the floor, bed not made etc.). The second room was clean, but I was less than impressed. We were just looking for a room for a night, and that is what we got. The bed wasn't comfortable and the towels were extremely thin. It is an extended […] stay, so our room had a full sized fridge, microwave and stove top burners. On the way out, we saw a family checking in with a huge dog that was almost my size. The mattress was old and bumpy. The room had no bar soap when I arrived. The tub did not drain when I showered. The fitness equipment squeaked too loudly to use. Room was spacious & comfortable. Was rather upset with the new check out policy, which was instituted 2 months prior to our stay. When I called to inquire about a late check out because of a bicycle tour for 'Safe kids of Fairfield County' the staff did not tell us there is an additional fee imposed beyond their scheduled check out time. "near Hewitt, but not the best place to stay"
This place reminds me some sort of retirement house, old and creepy. It's a long stay hotel type, cheap old bed and pillows. Everything is ok if you just want to crash for a night and really tired, otherwise it's a crappy place to stay. There is a Marriot down the road - I would rather stay there if I had to stay in that area again and even if I have […] to pay a little more.
