"Great place for relaxation and care-free fun!"
We had an excellent time. I think that dress is important for dinner. Although this stay both dining rooms were not open and we were never told this. Therefore we have folks in tee shirts and shorts next to us which I did not like or appreciate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Summer Camp on Steroids--Outstanding!"
The staff is exemplary. That needs to be said up front. Friendliness is the key word, and everyone employed there knows everything about everything in the hotel, so no "I'll see if I can find out for you". That said, the Mohonk is an experience that isn't well described in brochures and websites. Gorgeous mountain views abound. Anything a guest might […] want to do by way of sports and outdoor activities is available in spades and mostly included in the All-Inclusive reservation. The food is excellent, served in several different venues, both formal and informal, buffet and barbecue, and nearly overwhelming. Three meals plus afternoon tea and cookies was more than even this piggy could consume! Indoors, the hotel offers lots of quiet corners for guests not so interested in boating, golf, or the myriad other outdoorsy challenges. It would have been nice to have some down time with perhaps a favorite program when the body was no longer willing to hike, swim, or climb. Even a little music would have helped. So arrive prepared for a real back-to-nature and back-in-history experience. We weren't, so we didn't pack appropriately. Even full of guests, the Mohonk is quietude in totality. There are programs for children from ages 2 to 7 and some for older kids, and there's babysitting included, so this is a true family resort. I've never seen so many little children in one place, and so beautifully behaved that even this oldster enjoyed their company. The age range of guests we encountered was 3 months to 90+ years, and all having a wonderful time. The only complaint I can muster is that the smell of the building--that old-wood, old-carpeting, and wood-smoke mustiness--was pervasive and took some getting used to. But that's part of the charm of an historic hotel maintained in period style. Once we rest up and recover from our zealous attack on the outdoors, Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
