We weren't in the room much, but when we were it was a weird layout with the tv up on the side wall, and there was no table, so eating was a challenge but everything else was fine

This was our second stay here. The first time we stayed in cottage on the side that says Inns and Cottages. This time we stayed in the Lodge side and our room was very clean and comfortable. However, the entire room had a powerful moldy smell and it almost ruined our experience. When we left, even our coats and luggage had picked up the smell. Well, that may be the case, but I would like to know if the smell is not an indicator of serious mold issues that can be very unhealthy over prolonged periods and very serious for people who have mold allergies. The things I did not like was the non-working phone whereby I could not contact the front desk. Also half the plugs did not work, and the walls were not very sound proof. There was no one on duty from 10 PM until 8 PM so I had to leave without paying bill or getting a receipt. The check -in at 3 PM is unfair whereas the check-out is at 11PM. Pleasantly surprised - will stay again. Not particularly close to downtown, but the Pacific Grove/Monterey area isn't all that big anyway. Very short drive/bike ride to the coast. This is a great family place, and the trolley to Monterey is at the front door. Staff was pleasant, and helpful. There is a contemporary Asian restaurant attached to the hotel that is superb. The firepit was a focal point for many guests. We enjoyed the spa and pool, and the continental breakfast.

You cannot tell a book by its cover, and so it was here with the slightly weathered exterior containing a very tidy and comfortable room with great beds. Overall we were pleased with our room! Do note however that some guests may find their rooms to be quite a long walk from the pool, a very chilly proposition on those foggy Pacific Grove evenings.

An early wake-up call from the room next door (3 am) baby crying non-stop prompted us to go in search at 6 am for good coffee. Upon our return and an effort at getting some zzzz's, the occupants were still very loud and disruptive. Our stay at Sea Breeze was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helped with information and the convenience of selling tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. My only complaint is that the bed in our room had perhaps the hardest, most unforgiving mattress I've ever slept on in my life. Everything else was very nice.

Very friendly, helpful front desk clerk, excellent and tasty muffins. Only stayed l night but relaxing and quiet, yet right on the trolley line. We would go back again next time and use the trolley to all the local activities (Monterey Aquarium, Asilomar state beach, Monterey boardwalk). They took an average drive thru motel entrance and re-designed […] it with outdoor firepit, sitting areas and garden areas. The only drawback was the pool/hot tub was across the street at the Sea Breeze Lodge - their other property. My wife and I like the Pacific Grove area, which is south, and adjacent to Monterey, CA. (I suppose that technically, Pacific Grove is a part of Monterey.) Anyway, the Sea Breeze Inn is where we like to stay, having stayed there three times, and at their cottages once; the cottages are literally across the street. The hotel is modest and unassuming, […] which is fine for us. Our most recent stay was April 1 through 3, 2012. When we arrived, the heater would not work, and a gap in the bottom door threshold was allowing the wind to whistle through, further stripping what little warmth we had. A call to the office yielded a fairly quick response from their maintenance man, who addressed both problems effectively. The continental breakfast- muffins, protein bars, cold cereal, juice, and coffee- is adequate. We have stayed in another facility down the street, but the Sea Breeze Inn is substantially better, in terms of appearance and upkeep. The reception staff are quite personable, friendly, and helpful. We will continue staying there during our future trips to Pacific Grove. Read more

Me and a friend were touring the area and needed a place to stay. We found this one from expedia and glad to have stayed there. The room was well kept and clean. Breakfast consisted of fruit and muffins. The only complaint is when going to the pool/hot tub at 9 pm (closing time is 10 pm) we could find no lights so that we could see what we were doing. […] Most rooms were either single buildings or were connected to one or two others. We were in town to visit the aquarium and the hotel was less than 5 minutes away. It's in a nice neighborhood. It was quiet. Front-desk check in guy was nice and helpful. The cottages/rooms were clean and must have been recently refurbished. The shower could use some new tiles, but the floor, carpeting, walls and the rest were clean and refinished. Also found it odd that towel racks and fixtures were either very nice or kind of ratty - even in the same room. The small fridge was next to the heater and you could not […] open the drawers of the armoire without hitting the fridge. We didn't use it, so no big deal, but I'd probably lose the ugly little fridge or slowly replace them when the budget allows. The beds were nice and firm and the place appeared clean and orderly. We got a really good deal and would stay there again for the convenience and price. Hotel was located just a short 10 minutes from cannery row and was a pleasant surprise. The room was a small cottage but decorated very nicely. Bed and mattress as good, bathroom was small. We really enjoyed this little motel stay. It was in a quaint area of Pacific Grove, near the wonderful cliffside walking trails and parks in the area. It was in a quiet area of town, but still great location. the exterior of the place doesn't look like much as it is an older facility as is most of the places in Pacific Grove. But, the interior was newly […] renovated/decorated and very tasteful. The bathroom was roomy, but the shower is a little dated and stained, but still clean. If they had re-done the shower tiles and counter it would have been perfectly new throughout. There was a nice sitting area outside with firepit that was lovely in the evening and at breakfast. Rooms are very small, but the location is excellent if you like to be near Pacific Grove (which we do). You get what you pay for, and this was a bargain trip so our expectations were met. The room is so small the TV is placed in the top of the only closet space - its viewable if you are accustomed to a TV being 6 ft off the ground. Parking is very accessible […] and convenient. We loved the updated decor and overall feel of the room. The hotel is very old and has been remodeled and they had made it very nice. The only down side is that the walls are paper thin so you hear your neighbors and the cars throughout the night. Overall, it was a good deal for the money though.

Each room has a parking space right across from the door. When we returned from dinner someone had parked in our space. I went to the office and was told nothing can be done about it and to park in the space reserved for guest check-in. I suggest they paint the room number on the parking spaces and enforce the parking rules.

We stayed here for 3 nights, The room was good clean bed was great. If you have a car it is a good location for monteray. Quiet place and we were there when the motogp was on so it was good for sleeping.
