"Great one-night layover"
My boyfriend and I stayed three nights in Colonial Williamsburg, two in a upscale inn and one here before departing early in the morning. We checked into the Super 8 around 4 and this delightful woman helped us out. There was a mix-up with the reservation that was resolved quickly and easily. The room was rather clean except for a cigarette burn in […] the blanket and the heater smelling like burning hair. The location is a 10 minute walk (>5 min drive) to the CW capitol and there's a cute high-end consignment shop (The Velvet Shoestring) across the way. We were very satified with this hotel. We knew going in it was only a 2-star hotel so we didn't expect much. The room was clean, and the AC worked great. It was quiet and it was a great place for us to relax. Everything we wanted to see or needed was within a few minutes of us. "Nasty!"
This is THE nastiest motel we've ever stayed at. We actually brought our own bedsheets and Clorox wipes just in case the room is super dirty. There were stains on the blanket and dirty hand prints on the walls. The toilet and shower curtains had mildew all over it. The front desk manager was rude to us and was also mean to the employees. As you drive into this hotel, you think oh goodness I must have made a mistake. But once you walk into your room all your reservations are put at ease. The room was remarkably clean!! There is a microwave and fridge in the room as well as an iron/iron board, coffee maker and hair dryer. I would recommend bring your own shampoo as the bottle is small […] and there is only one. "adequate but noisey"
The front door leaves a bad first impression. need new door. next time I will get room on top level, The floor has a screch in it. every time someone moved it screched. "Super 8=Super Easy & Highly Recommended"
My friend and I checked into the hotel around 9PM. We had arrived in Williamsburg before the 2PM check-in time and decided to go straight to Busch Gardens for the day. The check-in process of painless and fast. The lady behind the desk recognized my name immediately and handed us our room keys. When you stay at a place like this, you can't expect the Hilton, but if you just need a place to shower and rest your head, like we did, it was perfect. Unlike other reviews about musty and disgusting smells, our room(which was on the first floor) had no odors whatsoever. Cable TV worked great, allowed me to watch some of the World Series, plenty of towels in the bathroom, coffee and a few bars of soap in bathroom area, etc. Overall, since we just needed a place to lay our heads, this was just as good, if not better than I expected. On a final note, I disagree with the comments about the surrounding neighborhood being "shady." There was nothing questionable or dangerous about it. We often take trips down to Williamsburg for long weekends. We picked this hotel because it was conveniently located to several restaurants as well as the sights. The bed was very comfortable. Nice and cosey, me and my girl had great stay. Pool was great and close too are room. 50 feet. Every attraction was no more than 3 miles away. Places too eat.
