We've stayed at Kingsmill numerous times. We love the amenities and it's a fun place for our young kids. We usually get a one bedroom suite which is plenty of room for the four of us. I love having laundry facilities in our room, our last trip we utilized it quite a bit with the messy toddlers. The only thing I would warn against is a lower floor room. […] They aren't bad as long as you have quiet people above you, but we had a family of elephants above us on one stay and that turned us off to being below anyone in the future. We took family vacation for the spring break and arrived the hotel at 3:45pm in a cold and raining March day. The reception area is very nice but the receptionist was very distance and we didn't feel be welcomed. We were told our hotel room was still not ready and we had to wait for one hour even the hotel's web site claimed the check-in time is 4:00pm. […] We gave one of our cell phone numbers to the receptionist and asked him to call us when the room was ready but we didn't get any call until we checked it again at 5:00pm. I must say that we were very impressed with the whole layout of Kingsmill Resort. It is gorgeous! I wish we had a room with a view of the water, instead of the tennis court! Our room wasn't ready when we tried checking in at 4:30pm and they graciously applied a credit to our account, which will be used for the Easter Brunch reservations we had made. […] The brunch was very nice and we had a table with a panoramic view of the grounds and river, which despite the pouring rain, was lovely. I do wish we had been offered a mimosa or a bloody mary with our brunch. I thought the room was very nice, not as fabulous as I expected it to be however. I thought the sofa/living room furniture to be a bit dated and drab and not very comfortable. Our daughter slept on the sleeper sofa and I didn't think it was comfortable at all. The thing that really annoyed me however was no soundproofing whatsoever! I thought there was a herd of elephants above us, jumping on and off the bed. The next morning, I could hear our next door neighbor complaining about the lack of hot water; it was as if I was in the same room. This was probably the most disappointing aspect of our stay. We went to a fabulous French restaurant nearby which I highly recommend: Le Yaca, it is just across the street from Kingsmill. I doubt we will return, simply because of the noise level, but the resort itself sure was beautiful! Read more

Loved it overall - beautiful location, lots of great facilities, convenient to Wiliamsburg, Busch gardens and many other sights and sites. Only real complaint was kind of unfriendly service by three different people at the fitness center front desk.

I attended a conference here last year, and was very impressed. Therefore, when my family came up for Thanksgiving and we visited Williamsburg, I immediately reserved a room at Kings Mill. It was beautiful and I was once again very pleased with the atmosphere and hospitality.

Second time to Kingsmill and had a great time. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with 4 people and a baby. The perfect amount of room although the bathroom was a little tight. Bed extremely comfortable, pullout couch so-so. Kingsmill was preparing for the LPGA tournament but luckily we got 2 rounds of golf in on the courses not involved (Planatation and […] Woods), also tried the spa and it was great, although my masseuse talked way too much. I love that everything on the grounds is kid friendly. The new pool opened while we were there and looked nice - nothing ever felt very crowded which was fine with me. Went to all the restaurants except James River, and most of our meals were fantastic. There is also a great restaurant just outside the resort called Maurizios which we like to stop at. Howard, the hotel Restaurant Manager, was super friendly and seemed to be everywhere we went - what a great guy! We will definitely be back next fall. Read more

The hotel is very nice and very close to all the attractions. The resort is a little spread out so if you do not stay in a building near the James River you will find the walk to the pool, restaurants and the Marina very long (you may even want to drive.) But it was fine...still a nice place to stay. On another note though if you want to book any spa […] treatments I highly recommend you go to the spa directly to book it. I booked a spa treatment through the concierge and they messed up the reservation. They booked it on the day we were leaving not the day I asked. We loved our stay. Our first room had a screaming baby next door. We told the front desk and they were more than accomadating, changing our room to a more convenient location near the spa. The staff was extremely attentive to our needs, the shuttle service was great. We were running late one day, jogging to the shuttle with out 10 and 7 year old, and […] one of the staff members in a golf cart, pulled over, and gave us a ride. Wonderful location and resort. Rooms are very nice, shower only in our room but was updated and lovely. Kids enjoyed pool though disappointed new pool had not opened yet (?August). Only complaint was that the sleeper sofa was not comfortable for kids.

We were in a room with loud neighbors. When I complained to front desk the situation was dealt wih promptly and the staff was more than accomidating. Beautiful grounds and always someone to assist you. We would go again.

Star Five Resort . Price range excellent. Located in beautiful Virgina directly overlooking the golf course with views of the river when dining. Rooms are clean and bathrooms large. Room service at your finger tips, with pleasant and professional staff.

We loved the location on James River, close to Busch Gardens, very nice and clean indoor and outdoor pools (with hot-tub), great running/walking trails. The one bedroom suite has a full kitchen with dishes and cooking utensils for 6, a small stacked clothes washer/dryer. We are a family of four with 2 small children. Stayed 3 nights. very nice and everything at your fingertips. golf or river view condos. Furnishings are relative lower end given that room it is 4-star. bed very comfortable. Otherwise everything that you would want from a resort: good food, golf, tennis, biking, boating comprehensive gym, indoor/outdoor pool, arcade with ping-pong, pool, fooz-ball, air hockey. Room was fantastic,(king suite) had view of the water and the golf course. Love the patio! It was cute to watch my 3 year old chase fireflies. We were extremely close to Bush Gardens and the baby loved the Sesame Street area. He even took on the roller costers! We left there refreshed and happy. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is next to the amusement park and close to other attractions. The best thing for us was the large suite with plenty of room for the family to hang out and play board games in the evenings. The kids really enjoyed the indoor pool with a large hot tub. The staff was nice and we will return!

Great location, yet they provide complementary shuttle service to Busch Garden. Very private. The only thing we weren't happy about was that the bedroom was chilly. It's colder than the living/dining room area. Overall, it's a great place to stay with kids!

Expected a 4-5 star hotel experience at this top tier golf resort. I've stayed at much nicer 3-star hotels. Room was okay except for several spiders, webs, and ants. Didn't appear balcony had ever been cleaned - dirty and covered in cobwebs. This was a family trip - kids were terrified of spiders and disappointed the pools were closed. My children and I had a wonderful stay at Kingsmill, and look forward to returning someday! There are dozens of reasons to love this place and only things that I didn't love. The first is that the washing machine in our suite did not work. It did not need a repair, it merely needed to be leveled. I spoke with the staff five times about this before giving […] up. The back right leg was adjusted too low, and simply needed to be raised an inch. It was in a closet, so I couldn't do it myself. Maintenance could not figure it out. I expect nice, working appliances at a resort of this caliber. It would wash the clothes, but shut down during the spin cycle, so it took over 2 hours to dry a load of wringing wet clothes. This absolutely DROVE ME TO DISTRACTION on my trip. Williamsburg in August is hot and sweaty, and we were re-wearing clothes. I was offered laundry service, and a convenience credit though. Secondly, the fees are expensive. The restaurant prices didn't shock me, as I come from the New York Metro area. However, fees for tennis, golf and the spa are high, and resort guests are offered the same prices as the public. That being said, we loved staying at Kingsmill! The grounds are immaculate. Our suite was right on one of the golf course and had a beautiful view. The tennis courts are plentiful and nice. We were near a pool and the main building. There are so many activities in the area, we never made it to the indoor pool, but the bar, snack bar and restaurants we went to were lovely and the food was good. The breakfast buffet in the dining room overlooking the James River was a highlight. The suite was roomy, comfortable, and had very nice furnishings and décor. I enjoyed sitting on the back porch. The bed and pillows felt like sleeping on a cloud. All of the staff there is amazing – so warm and helpful. Just one upgrade: I spoke with a rep on the phone while I was at the resort to ask about the spa. ( I don't think it was the spa I called, but the central number.) She has a very snarky attitude that was not appreciated. She was the ONLY one with that reception. Everyone else was wonderful!

This hotel did not seem 4 diamond at all to me. The rooms seemed more like mini condo units. Our room had dust on the lamps and dead bugs and cobwebs in the corner of the room. We were not at all impressed.
