The staff was really friendly and very accomodating. Whenever we needed something (extra towels, tissues) they were there right away with a smile and 'you're welcome'. Very nice and helpful at breakfast time making sure the buffet was full. Unfortunately, the building is pretty run down and is in desparate need of an update. The sofa bed did not 'roll […] back' into the frame without sitting on it. The wi-fi as free, but very poor signal throughout. Carpet and chairs in room had permanent stains that made you want to avoid using them. The shower pressure and head was in need of replacing and modernizing. Read more

Overall the hotel was satisfactory. Nothing great, nothing bad. Location was great, just a short drive to beach, golf, historic downtown Charleston and bars. Would stay here again in future.

Room had previous water damage. Although the walls were dry, when touched the walls were floppy and disgusting looking. We were staying overnight for next day early surgery and I would have asked for another room but we arrived around 9 p.m. Didn't notice the damage until we unpacked. The rug also had dark spots. Will never ever stay there again.

We travel quite a bit for pleasure and hotels are a "place to stay". We found this Comfort Suites provided everything we needed. A very professional staff that was helpful and quickly resolved the one problem we had. Rooms were clean, internet was free, and the included breakfast tasty. We had a problem finding the hotel. It sits in a grove of large trees and was difficult to see from the road. Our GPS said the road it was on had no building numbers and created a bit of the problem. The funiture was stained up, cabinets falling apart, the bathroom was disgusting (boogers stuck to the wall), the pool was not open for use (the main reason we chose this hotel), wouldn't choose this hotel again.

Overall a good place to hang your hat for a few nights. Continental breakfast was good. Carpeting in our room definitely needs replacing. My husband and I have stayed here several times and find the staff friendly and helpful.

Hotel is run down with poor a/c system, very noisy, rooms leak too much light, day time staff was slow and poorly informed. Curtain sheers were even torn and ragged. Bed was comfortable and gentleman tending breakfast was pleasant but a bit too friendly for first thing in the morning. No jacuzzi and only seasonal outdoor pool.

From the creaking floors to the matted and stained carpets, I would guess this is a 60-year-old hotel that had a facelift 20 years ago. A noxious chemical freshener smell pervades the air, the bedding was ripped and it felt unclean. And at it was far from a bargain.

Hotel is located in a Retail area that was hard to see from the road, the elevator was broken and we were on the 3rd floor with elderly guests, the managment did not seem to be worried about the hardship for these guests to take luggage down the stairs, did not apologize or offer to send someone to help. Would like to return. Location great for Charleston and beach. Was hard to find. Sign covered by tree and nothing out by street. My GPS could not find the address. I was told when I finally arrived that the GPS was not updated(?). When I called to get directions, I was told it was "by the carwash". I tried to get better directions, but she interrupted me then hung up on me. I asked at the front desk why there was no more food and was told "if its gone, they will not bring out more food just for 15 minutes".
