"Remeber it's a B&B"
The hotel is charming and the staff is great. This is not a hotel, rather a B&B. If you're on business looking for a comfortable in room work area, this may not be the place. If you are a road warrior and get tired of hotels this place has a feeling of home. "A Breath of Fresh Air"
The difficulty for any hotel such as the Edgewater is deciding how you can be a boutique hotel without spending an absolute fortune doing it. Rooms are clean and stylish with furniture which you would have found in your grandmothers house and are, overall, comfortable. The only criticism is that a bed type which would have maybe been acceptable fifty […] years ago is, nowadays, a little too small and just a bit creaky. Having said that, they're ok but the overall ambience of the hotel wouldn't be ruined by putting in some modern beds. Breakfast is a communal affair around a large table and is, quite frankly, excellent. We weren't too sure if we were going to like sharing breakfast with total strangers but it was altogether great and is very much part of the Edgewater experience. It's also great to be able to walk out of the hotel and have small town America right on your doorstep with cafes, ice cream parlours and bars right next door. However, there's little noise and the town has been really well laid out with good and safe pedestrian access. The owners of the hotel Also couldn't try harder to make your stay excellent and the Edgewater really is like a giant B&B.
