The room was pretty good. There was a smoke smell even though it was a non-smoking area however I know that can't be blamed on the hotel staff. There could've been more towels in the room as it seemed that there was less than usual. One of the locks on the door was broken but was repaired once I let the front desk know. I stayed at this hotel mainly for price and location. It was a good hotel for what I needed it for (I had an interview at Iowa State University). All the main necessities (iron/ironing board, blowdryer, microwave and refrigerator) were in good condition and were clean. Great value stay and the hotel is in the process of being updated, but it was not an inconvenience. I left an item and the room and the staff notified me right away and was very helpful in assisting with the return process. I would recommend this Days Inn to anyone looking for a quality place to stay.

The room that I stayed in (King) was a very nice room. The property is in a good location. The price was great and the room was above average. The only issue that I had is that the patroms for the restaurant next door are allowed to share the parking lot. This is a nice place to stay in Ames. Nothing fancy, but it's not expensive. The rooms are modern and very clean, and the friendly staff is very helpful. It's in a great location, near Panera and Starbucks as well as downtown shopping areas/restaurants.
