"not what we expected"
First. The sign in front of the hotel was not a "Days Inn" sign. It was a hotel management company (can't remember the name) sign. I passed the place twic when arriving. "affordable motel across the street from the beach"
It is an older motel but the staff & the cleanliness of the rooms made it a good place to stay for a 2 1/2 star motel. The beach is just across the street. The area is older but a nice community. "Unclean and outdated"

"Decent, not fancy, good for one night's stay"

"Days Inn - Satellite Beach, FL"
The only thing positive about this motel was its location - near the Pineda Causeway & the beach. Also, the refrigerator & microwave in the room were very convenient. The bathroom did not appear clean, there were hairs all around & it seemed to be a bit in disrepair. The air conditioner took nearly 2 hours to even begin to work - it wouldn't even allow […] the fan to blow for 2 hours. The furniture, carpet, bedspread & upholstery all had multiple stains. "days inn satellite beach, florida"
This was my 2nd time staying here within the past month and I think it will be my last. The main reason I choose a hotel is because of the pool and the tub spa, and both times I stayed the tub spa was not working and the pool water was too warm. "Price gouging, poor condition and maintenance"
We were absolutely price-gouged for a space shuttle launch weekend. This hotel is poorly maintained, the beds are fairly uncomfortable, and have the most pathetic excuse for linens possible (thin, scratchy; just, well, cheap). Our cable didn't work (which they fixed), and we had ants in our room. They fixed the cable, but our choices were to sleep with […] pesticides or just deal with the handful of ants. The funny thing was that we never had any food in the room. They were tiny ants, but nevertheless, it makes you wonder. May just be that room, but it speaks volumes for how well they maintain the hotel. By the way, while this is a good location, it's an ENORMOUS pain to get to. You get what you pay for and given that, I would recommend this hotel. The staff was courteous and the rooms were clean and simple. A bit dated, but but no cigarette burns in the floor, torn bedspreads, warped furniture, etc. The showers were newer, the bathrooms clean and everything in my room was relatively well kept and worked. Secure locks, well […] lit parking lot and a safe neighboorhood. The furniture was in good shape. The mattress was old and pretty cheap but the sheets were nice, fresh and clean. Besides, after a whole day on the beach (which is literally right across the street) you will sleep just fine. Look, this hotel was fifty percent less than anything else in the area and it was right on A1A across from the beach versus many that were double the price and located inland. No need to get in the car here to get to the beach. Not the place for your honeymoon but if you are looking for an inexpensive hotel to sleep at night after a long day, this place was good. "Days Inn @ Satellite Beach - not worth it."
I asked for non-smoking and my room smelt of smoke so bad that my throat started itching, even though the label on the door of the room read "non-smoking". I had to ask for another room. In the new room, the shower squeaked and there was no hot water, only luke-warm, and the hot and cold shower labels were not constructed accurately. The bathroom floor […] was chipped and dirty looking. The neighbors kept their tv on all night and everything was heard through the paper-thin walls. Also, the door was very difficult to close.
