Other then we had a hard time finding the hotel, it was very good. We were given a choice of which floor we wanted to stay on. One small issue about midnight.....neighbors were a little loud in the hallway. I assume they may have had one too many nightcaps. "Perfect layover destination"
Our room was extremely clean and the bathroom fairly spacious for such a cheap rate. It was a perfect place to stop inbetween destinations, with a pool (3-6ft so our small child could swim too) and close to a large shopping center. I have traveled a lot over the past 15 years for business and pleasure. What I have come to value above all else is the comfort of the bed and quality of the pillows. This is the second HoJo I have stayed at in the past 2 weeks (on separate vacations one in Ohio and this one in Maine) and both times I was very pleasantly suprised by the excellent night […] of sleep. Another key ingredient, I did not hear people up and down the hall or through the walls. I have paid far more money only to wake up stiff from an uncomfortable bed/pillows and awakened by kids running up and down the halls. The room/hotel was clean, pool warm, staff helpful, conveniently located to the mall and 10 minutes to beach. There are lots of resturants, gas stations, atms, and coffee shops handy. The breakfast was the normal cereal, toast/bagel/english muffins, waffle maker. Long story short, I love to travel several times a year andin the past I considered it a point of achievement or status to pay more for hotels that gave me less comfort. I do spend most of my time out seeing the local sights, and a good nights sleep is absolutely the most important factor of my hotel choice. After a second great experience with HoJo, I will definately look for their listing on expedia in future as my first choice. My parents and I stayed here on the way to a wedding in Portland. We were very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and quality-- the rates were so low, we expected it to be a "just grin-and-bear-it" stay.
