It was a bit odd. I booked a non-smoking room. When I checked in, the clerk's first words were "Do you want a smoking room, by any chance?" I said "No. Definitely not. I hate smoking and definitely need a non-smoking room." When we got to the room, it reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Clearly a smoking room. Other than that, almost everything was okay. […] Average breakfast, average room. The air conditioner was as loud as a turbo-charged Maserati, as was the bathroom fan.
