"Comfortable Stay at Holiday Inn Muskegon"
Hotel is older and could use some fresh paint and carpet in some areas, but was comfortable overall. Our heating unit made a klunking noise when it cycled on and off, but we got used to it. We also noticed some ants in the bathroom and notified the front desk and they sent someone to take care of it. Had a bit of a time trying to regulate the shower […] temperature from cool to scalding hot and settled on "luke warm." The hotel provides Bath and Body Works toiletries which are a nice touch and free breakfast buffet for Priority Club Members which is a big plus. "Hotel O.K, Restaurant Terrible"
The hotel itself was a decent experience. However, the restaurant service was horrendous. Several people got up and left because they couldn't get service. We had to pester people to get drinks and get our order out. When I told the manager of the restaurant that he was losing customers and we had been waiting awhile, he didn't take me seriously and […] continued to run around the restaurant/bar looking like he had no clue what he was doing. Considering there aren't any other places to eat nearby and that we hadn't made time to drive somewhere and come back, it was disappointing that we had to wait over an hour just for our food to come out. "Basic and needs TC"
Stay was satisfactory. The bolt over lock was broken, the toilet water ran continuously, the room was dated and very basic. Switched to another room, and the door caught on the trim that was coming apart. Hair clip on the drapes from previous guests! "Typical Holiday Inn with strange furnishings"
This is a typical Holiday Inn - a mid-range hotel with a pool and, therefore, lots of families with kids. We stayed on a busy holiday weekend so the noise was perhaps not surprising. Our room was furnished very strangely, however. In place of a typical work desk was a large square table with two large armchairs positioned on either side of the table. […] Not only would the chairs not fit under the table, but it was impossible to turn them to work on my laptop without great effort. Finally, the reading light provided for the two queen beds was a single lamp positioned between the two beds - insufficient for either of us to read by. That was solved by relocating a floor lamp that, also strangely, was standing in a corner next to the mini-fridge, It seemed to me that this room had been furnished with leftovers, but I have not stayed in a Holiday Inn for a while so perhaps this is state-of-the-art. "Downtown Muskegon"
It was average, nothing to rush back to. Dining service was poorly managed. Food was not very good (they need a new cook) and their wait staff needs to be trained. The clerk at the front desk was cracking her knuckles as she was checking us in (very unprofessional). "A hot hotel."

This hotel was clean when you enter. The rooms was cleaner that I expected. The sink and toilet had leaking issues. The problem we had was the survice of this hotel. I called a couple times to the front desk about additional towels and blankets. They said they were coming but several hours later nothing came. When I arrived at the bedroom there was a wall outlet without a faceplate; I called the reception and they sent maintenance to add it; at night we realized there was no thick curtain to cover the light from the street and the light was shining on our face all night! "It was okay."
The internet wouldnt work. I called the support line and they were unable to fix the problem. That was a huge problem for me. The toliet barely flushed in our room and the tv was awful. The only thing that wasn't satisfactory was most of the food (I had a burger at the bar that was pretty good, but there breakfast bar and club sandwich was not very good) and the fact that the water was shut off in our room after we checked in, for maintenance, and they did not tell us at check in. I had to wait almost an hour to take a shower! The […] bed was very comfortable, and the A/C and tv were average. We did swim one night, the pool was alright, lots of kids up late, and the 'hot tub' was small, with a limit of 5 people, quite shallow, and the jets weren't powerful at all.
