Hotel had New Orleans character we were looking for. Pool was a bit smaller than it looked in pictures, but we still utilized it and it was a big plus to have, especially during humid month of August! Breakfast was nothing special, but service was great and overall had a wonderful experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fine but old hotel"
The hotel was fine but nothing special. The room was old and very small but included the nescesary. Great pool on terrace and ok fitness room. A Little too expensive compared to other hotels in town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Place to Stay in New Orleans"
Le Pavillon is an old hotel (100 years) with a very charming décor. The bathroom is very small, our bathroom door was warped and did not close unless slammed, and the A/C made a lot of noise. But if you look past those things, the hotel has history and character. The staff was the best part of our experience, from the friendly bellmen and doormen, the […] Concierge, Jacques and our favorite, Renee in the restaurant and bar. Friendliness at the front desk was inconsistent; the person who checked us in was great; the one at check-out not very friendly. We loved the traditional PB&J sandwiches from 10-11pm; the hot chocolate was wonderful. The location worked well for us, as we did not need to be right in the French Quarter because we have visited New Orleans many times before (the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Quarter). The hotel location was great for the hop-on-hop-off bus and on both days we rode it, they dropped us off right in front of the hotel because it was on their route. All in all, we had a great stay and would highly recommend the Le Pavillon! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

the hotel was beautiful except there was work with ladders and other obstacles in lobby. one elevator working. the service excellent . the actual comfort of room great except the one thing that ruined our anniversary trip was that the room service 2-3 rooms down. all night could hear the rolling of carts are the elevator . our room was next to elevator. […] the food was very good in the bar. but bar way understaffed people waited while bartender left area to attended to 2 intoxicated customers wanting to entertain their wants while other guest became irritated and left, The peanut butter and hot chocolate a must. the parking way over priced $39.95 plus $5,00 tax and $5.00 tip took away from the good bargain getaway for someone that lives nearby for our 25 year anniversary. iconic hotel its terrible that in slow months does not cater more to locals . "Lovely, Antique-est, and Baroque hotel!!!"
Our stay was lovely and comforting surprise! My husband and I just got married and were on our Mini-Moon road trip. We arrived to the hotel quite late, almost 1am. We informed the front desk of arrival prior and when we arrived to the hotel there was valet and the front desk staff was wonderfully friendly, wish I could remember the name of the staff […] member. We had mentioned to him that we were newlyweds and when we headed to the bar/lounge, he surprisingly bought my husband and I a glass of champagne!! That was so wonderfully nice and a treat!!! We were also informed of the rooftop pool and had bathrobes wating for us in our room. We were also were able to order room service 1am in the morning since we had not eaten dinner at all. AND let me tell you, the king bed was super duper comfy! We melted just laying there and didn't even had the energy to head to that rooftop pool!! It was in downtown, close to all the sites. However, one minor thing was the bath tub drain did not really drain and was clogged, other than that I would have given this hotel 5 for everything!!! We will definitely come back again and try that rooftop pool! I highly suggest others to stay at this lovely hotel, it will be a stay well paid for! :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming, though musty"
Great staff, decent location (central business district - few blocks from Canal and Bourbon), comfortable, old-French decor. Unfortunately had to air out our clothes from the musty odors in the room. Hallways were fine, but they should probably recarpet and/or repaint - few other ways to be fully rid of the smell that was like old, wet shoes. Tip: go […] to Mother's for breakfast (24/7), but go for the food and experience, not so much for the service. PB&J sandwiches were a nice touch Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I love the hotel and I found it close to everything we want to visit. Nothing is really far away. Will definitely use Le Pavillion as my next hotel on my next visit to New Orleans. Everyone at the hotel was wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny, dirty pool"
The hotel is old but elegant. The main complain I have is the pool area. It is very small and crowded, no enough room for sitting around and relaxing. Also since there is only one pool (very small) it is crowded with children. Also, some of the "guest" were bathing in their underwear only and smoking inside the pool, the hotel staff didn't seem to care […] about proper dress codes and manners of the guest. Not very likely to come back. Overpriced from my experience. I stayed the next day at another corporative for cheaper and with a much better experience. "We loved this hotel"
We loved everything about this hotel. Located in walking distance to the French quarter, and it was only blocks away from a street car and bus stop to bring you to other parts of town. It had an old-fashioned French feel to it (originally threw us off), but the hotel was modern/updated on everything that mattered - most comfortable beds, nice gym, new […] TVs, etc. It was the little things that made the experience really stand out - restocked toiletries every day, friendly staff, snacks at night (pb&j and hot chocolate - we didn't even eat but it was a really nice gesture), let us have a late checkout (of 2:30 pm), pull down service, etc. Even though I wouldn't think twice about some of these things, it's a nice touch when provided. We would absolutely stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

First we would like to say cedric was so helpful and a great conversationalist. Having our robes and slippers laid out in the evening was quite the surprise. "Apparently it's just my bad luck?"
The good - the bed was very comfy, the decor is attractive, and the staff is pleasant. Walking distance from French Quarter. Now for the bad. The 35/night parking, which is an uncovered, fenced in lot so your car is baking out in the sun. It's the kind of lot that is usually the cheap parking in DT Austin. And it's worse when you start walking towards […] the Quarter and see other places charging 20. The hot water - no matter what time I tried to take a shower, the hot water lasted all of 2 minutes before it got cold. Not "cool, but I can suffer through it", but ice cold. They advertised special drawn baths, but they must have to cart in extra hot water to fill up the tiny tub because I don't see enough hot water coming out of those spigots to fill up the tub on their own. When I complained about the lack of hot water (a necessity for a hotel) the fronst desk person laughed and said "Yeah, that happens...." No, it doesn't. How about taking the exorbitant parking fees and buying a better hot water heater? The breakfast buffet is a rip-off - it's the standard fare you can get at cheap motel complimentary continental breakfasts, only you get charged 30/person (20 for the food, 4-6 for coffee/juice). You're better off going into the Quarter and finding a local place to have breakfast. When I go back to NO, I'll be looking for a better place to spend the night. It was a wonderful, historic place to stay while in New Orleans. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. "NO Hotel of Choice"
I have used this hotel many times. I have tried others in the past, but this is my hotel of choice in NO. Staff is wonderful, rooms wonderfully clean, but small (old hotel), and location is great for walking. Quiet enough area to get sleep, not in the Quarter.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We love the hotel! Great staff, very friendly. Location is perfect for the Saenger theater. One minor complaint is the shower has no water pressure. It took forever just to wet my hair much less rinse the shampoo out. A small price to pay for the overall experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice classic experience"
This is a nice older hotel with all the classic vibe you'd expect. The location is great, less than a mile from all the shopping and activities you'd want on Royal or Bourbon. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi are a great touch with a great view. The room was very clean and well-maintained, though there were some spots where it showed its age. Parking is […] valet and $40/night after tax, which is a bit pricey, but you won't need to worry about parking downtown and probably won't need a car once you park. "$35 valet service should automatically be included"
Great stay. Rooms were fun with a bordello-like feel. A truly unusual but comfortable hotel. The only thing to watch out for is the additional charges. This hotel is amazing. The architectural design is breathtaking, service was phenomenal, and the amenities were very nice. Issues: the window behind the curtain was very dusty and there was a large spider and spider web in the corner although I imagine we were the first to look in that corner for a while. The bathroom floor seemed discolored, but that […] was only slightly off putting. The room a/c was a little noisy, but didn't keep us up at all. The amazing bedding definitely made up for it! We had a lovely time at La Pavillion in New Orleans. The doorman was charming, the staff sweet, the lobby enchanting, the bar regal and the room quiet and comfortable. "What a haunt!"
This place scared me silly on arrival and I literally reconsidered the three nights I had reserved. The place literally smells as old as it is, comparable to the terrifying feeling you get locked in your grandmother's attic. However after I settled in I realized what a classy place it is. From free (and fast) wifi, to the rooftop pool and the complimentary […] peanut butter sandwiches, Le Pavilion is a true representation of New Orleans. I was really hoping to shell out a full five stars for this one, but my visit to the rooftop deck was tainted by beer bottles from the night before -And the valet kept mysteriously moving my car around the lot to keep spots open for "contract" visitors. "A historic & ornate hotel with a lot of character"
Even though the hotel is showing its age, it has a ton of character, which outweighs the outdatedness in my opinion. While the immediate location isn't very exciting as it's downtown in the business district, it is right between the Garden District to the southwest and the French Quarter to the northeast. It's a good value too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in Style!"
This is a fine hotel, very well located for those looking to enjoy all of New Orleans attractions. By NOT being in the midst of the French Quarter, but rather on its edge, makes for a quieter night and easier access. The room (we had a king size bed in their "standard" room) is small, but works fine. The bathroom could use more counter space or shelving, […] and an extra towel bar, but, again, though small worked fine. The people were great - helpful, friendly. Good place to stay. "Poor maintenance, Decaying Hotel"
Our hotel was a bit of a nightmare. The air conditioning would leak and drip water all over the table. The phones would not work properly. When you press the room service button, it would call random people in the hotel and wake them up in the middle of the night. As a result, i had to go down to the hotel desk to order room service, and then pay the […] bell hop anyways for the delivery! (its not his fault i had to go down to order). The only saving grace was the pool on the roof top which really was spectacular. Otherwise, for the price... look elsewhere. I'm certain you can do much better. I'm the sort of person who doesnt really complain about things... so... take that with a grain of salt when reading this. I was fortunate that the company i had with me eclipsed the hotel experience. "Beautiful hotel. Service not so great"
The hotel was beautiful and grand, just as the pictured displayed. However, aside from the first hotel attendant who took our bags when we arrived and an anniversary gift from hotel management, the hotel service left a lot to be desired for such an upscale hotel during our 4 day stay. All service attendants seemed more concerned with the Caucasian guests. […] On our second night, my husband and I went to have PB&J sandwiches. I got in line to get hot chocolate, and the attendant didn't even acknowledge me. Less than 30 seconds later, a Caucasian lady came and stood near me, and the attendant practically leaped into action to serve her, asking her if she wanted hot chocolate and grabbing a cup and filling it to the top for her. He then offered to put marshmallows in for her. The lady actually apologized to me because she knew that she went out of turn. The attendant never seemed to notice that he served her ahead of me in error. I grabbed my own cup and asked for hot chocolate. The same attendant filled my cup barely half full and was already talking to a new Caucasian couple approaching the table. Additionally, my husband and I received no greeting or offers for assistance. We would see attendants running ahead of Caucasian couples to open the doors and ask them where they were headed and offering to give directions or recommendations. We never had a door opened for us unless there were Caucasians already ahead of us. Also beware of the high parking fees. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
