"Great hotel, great location!"
We love staying at this hotel! Great location, super comfy beds and wonderful bar to people watch and wind down.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was nice"
The hotel was nice, but a bit too close to the action for my tastes. It was fun to sit in the Carousel, knowing that my grandmother had done the same! The 1st night was nice and quiet, the 2nd night was crowded and loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"This was our only day to experience the French Q."
Their computers were down. We tried to get our room at 12noon and they told us the rooms were not clean yet (not telling us the truth). People were already sleeping/lounging in the lobby. Came back at 2 and more people were lounging. No seats were available and the staff was still stalling. We did the best we could to enjoy the French Quarter knowing […] we had not checked into a room and our luggage was piled with others. We came back at 4:30 and to a long line of ticked off people and a packed lobby. After waiting in the line for approximately an hour we escorted to a room without room keys. The only way back in was to find a manager to open our door. We tried again to enjoy the area only to come back to a slammed hotel that could not get it together and still no room keys were being issued. We could not get anyone to let us into our room until we cut in line and demanded someone take us to our room (this did not go well). This hotel took a hard situation and made it worse. Don't lie and let it build into that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful hotel terrible room"
We loved our stay in NOLA and the Monteleone except that our room (334) was way too small for a king size bed and a large TV console. It was barely possible to walk by the foot of the bed.In addition the bathroom was also very tiny. Everyone at the hotel was cordial and helpful but we were less than comfortable in our room. We left at 9am returned at […] 4pm one day and the room was not made up--quite annoying. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Anniversary night out"
Live in NOLA and wanted to find a romantic hotel down in the quarter to celebrate a belated anniversary. Obliviously great location but man for the price ($325) of a little room for one night I expected a whole lot more. Good time with my beautiful wife but next time we will save the money & stay somewhere a little more reasonably priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Classy hotel in French Quarter"
Convenient location on edge of the quarter. Nicely appointed rooms, but small for the price. Excellent service, fun carousel bar in lobby. Some noise at night because not quite out of reach of football and Bourbon street revelers.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful and Historic in the frenchquarter"
Loved staying here. Only problem we had was at check-in. The receptionist got our reservation mixed up with someone else of the same last name. Fortunately, we were able to fix this right away. Everything at this hotel was clean, pleasant and full of history. Check out the Carousel Bar downstairs before you leave!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was just as nice as I remembered it 30 years ago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I intended to stay one night, but ended up staying an additional. We had a great time. Everything is walking distance, so it was a great location. We've found our spot, and will return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Classic feel to this grand hotel"
This is the type of hotel you hope to stay in when you travel. Clean, elegant, emphasis on service and great location. This will be our hotel from now on when we visit NOLA. The Carousel Bar is one of the most unique places you will find in any hotel in any country.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient to the French Quarter. We walked everywhere and it wasn't a problem. Beautiful hotel. It's almost 140 years old but you wouldn't know it. Wonderful staff and clean, comfortable room..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in an excellent location"
Beautiful hotel in walking distance of Bourbon Street, Canal Street (trolleys), Jackson Square, casino, etc. Lots of great restaurants, bars, and shops in the area, but far enough from the hotel that the hotel area is quiet. Hotel has very fast elevators. Excellent rooftop pool, patio, and bar with light lunch food. Staff was very nice. I would definitely […] stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved our stay here for an anniversary weekend getaway. Service was impeccable except for the valet when we went to leave. We waited over an hour to get our car and it was clear that there was no organization what so ever to the parking situation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel - Disappointing Room"
Beautiful old historic hotel in a great location right on Royal St. Lobby and restaurant are very nice, but the rooms are tired and need to be redone. The bed had a huge sunken in place in the mattress from a lone sleeper over the years... mattress needs to be replaced badly. We wanted to change hotels after the first night, but did not want to pay […] the full night penalty. Stay at the Royal Sonesta instead. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fat Tuesday Wedding"
The hotel was amazing, and the staff was even better. We got an early check in on fat tuesday and because it was our wedding day we felt like they treated us like royalty. The room was amazing. MY now husband and I wanted a romantic getaway for New Years and so we could elope and could have not.picked a better spot! Perfect location, great bar, and very nice rooms. "Our 10th Anniversary"
Excellent hotel and very friendly staff. The hotel restaurant, Criello, where we had our anniversary dinner was exquisite! Would definitely stay here again. Close enough to everything, but, not too close, if you know what I mean. If you go out for breakfast, go to Mena's Palace, a great little diner on Iberville and Chartres. Only a block from the hotel. "We will return!!"
My husband and I have spent a lot of time in New Orleans however, had never stayed at the Monteleone. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We loved the location. I was concerned that we would hear a lot of street noise but our room was very quiet. We enjoyed the pool area as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"THERE ARE BETTER HOTELS IN THE FRENCH QUARTER"
Beware, this hotel pre-authorizes the entire amount of your estimated stay plus $60/day on your credit card. They then charge the full amount of the stay at the end, resulting in at least double the total charge on your credit card for a few days until the preauthorization is taken off. The front desk staff is not very personable or friendly-very cold. […] Valet service is the only valid parking solution. I checked my car out twice and both times found the seats readjusted and my stereo cranked up and radio switched to CD player. Ii was told to let them know 10 minutes prior to get my car when it actually took about 25-30 minutes. Rooms are very small, but well decorated. They are also clean. The hotel is in a very central location near everything in the French quarter. That's good, but makes for a very noisy night until the wee hours of the morning. Not very soundproof. All in all, I would not stay here again. There are too many other nice hotels in the French quarter that are actually a bit less expensive and nicer. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, historic charm, noisy rooms"
The location can't be beat and the history of the hotel is very interesting. Checking in was a breeze. Our room was large with and updated bathroom. The beds were not super comfortable but do-able. It's an old hotel, so you hear everything in the hallway. My sleep was very disrupted. Between the Bourbon street crowd coming back to hotel at 4-5 am (hotel […] is only 2 blocks from Bourbon) and the maids talking to each other in the hallway starting at 8-9am, I did not find the hotel very restful when in the room. The pool area is unbelievably beautiful. Once again, though, the hotel clientele poorly affected the experience. There was a highly intoxicated young man by the pool who needed to be restrained by a friend. There were no hotel representatives providing assistance at the pool during this event (the bar had already closed). The carousel bar is really unique and fun. Although usually packed, it is a good place to get a night cap and Ernest Hemingway used to frequent it. Also, at check out there was a long line with only 2 attendants. I called to ask for my car to be pulled up from the valet and was told they were "too busy" to pull any cars. I was instructed to come down and stand in line to get my car. This is unacceptable for a fine hotel with a high valet charge to make a customer stand in line for the car. They need a better system. Overall, I would consider staying in this hotel again if I was going for a party weekend, but not if I wanted quiet and excellent comfort. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Genie in a bottle!"
My recent stay at the Hotel Montleone was great excepte for the size of rooms. I felt like a genie in a bottle. The room had beautiful drapes, fresh paint, lovely marble baths and very comfortable beds. The only thing missing was the size of the room itself. The bathroom vanity and hooks were extra tall. Yet there wasn't any place to spread out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Upgrade to construction"
what was supposed to be an upgrade since my original place was overbooked, turned out to be a construction nightmare. jackhammers were all I could here throughout the day and the room for the price was no better than a super 8 motel. what should have been a peaceful getaway turned out to be a sleepless nightmare. Hotel was outstanding. Very classy furnishings, close to all sights, one st. over from bourbon st. (quiet nights rest). Staff extremely nice and knowledgable. Enjoyed our stay. It was our first time. Loved the pool area! Enjoyed Marvin, Carousel bartender, who introduced me to the most refreshing libation: French 007! Nothing better to combat the heat! I stayed at the Monteleon Hotel. The room was the smalles room I have ever stayed in. There was barely room to move around in. I will not stay at this hotel again. The breakfast was very expensive. Hotel Monteleone is a great splurge for couples and families. We stayed for my husband's birthday weekend and the location couldn't be better. Our room was on the 10th floor. Very clean and comfortable beds. Lots of towels too. Great shower with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The only negative thing is there wasn't free wi-fi here. "Memorial Day Weekend 2012"
Over the years (30+) we had heard many great things about The Monteleone and this was our first opportunity to stay there. Pricing was a bit steep for us on a normal basis, but Hotels.com brought it down to a semi-reasonable rate. Still, the quality of the hotel did not justify the extra expense and we were slightly disappointed overall. Service was […] good, but several mistakes with the room and knowledge of the staff was lower than expected; transposed room numbers mandated a return to the check-in area for fresh keys and a different tower, and check-in clerk incorrectly identified where our car would be parked (causing a delay upon checkout). The room was clean but large spots were on the carpet. We incorrectly thought there would be turndown service (expected, not promised). Overall a pleasant experience, located where we wanted to be, but the Omni Orleans (our last stay) equaled or excelled The Monteleone in all categories for $$$ less. Outstanding location, beautiful hotel. Standards rooms a bit small, but still very nice. Only problem with hotel was the water pressure in the bathroom. Horrible water pressure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Monte Leone"
The stay at this hotel was a very pleasant experience. The staff were very polite and accommodating. The only complaint I have would be the quality of bedding. the mattress was incredibly soft and so therefore did not provide a good night's rest. It felt as though it had not been renewed for a while.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location in the French Quarter"
A very "old world" hotel that is steeped in tradition. It can be noisy with the outside street activities, but this is something you have to put up with if you want to stay in the French Quarter and be near the action of Bourbon Street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent stay, no waiting for elevators.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A very enjoyable 5 day stay. There were, however, a few areas for improvement... The cutlery in the restaurant was not clean, so we left. The service at the bar was very slow, so we left, on three occasions. The doorman opened the door for us once in five days. We found this quite amusing as they were always busy, or not there... The gift shop staff […] could not have been less helpful, but the Conceirge and Reception staff were great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
