The hotel was in a very safe and quiet neighborhood very close to the Algier's Ferry. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to NoLA.

We loved the walk to the ferry every day. We took the car to the ferry area when we had to walk back later in the evening. The ferry only runs until midnight, so slight inconvenience. I loved this hotel. I took my 13 year old daughter and her friend on Spring Break to New Orleans. The hotel has a stove top kitchen complete with pots/pans/cultery. I made a great breakfast to wake them up. The ferry on Algiers point is free to pedestrians. We parked at the all day parking for $5 dollars. The maps of New Orleans are deceiving. The Aquarium […] is right next to the Ferry drop off. Get your discount coupons off the internet. Then you can walk along the water to see the Natchez steam boat. Then look for St Petersburg Cathedral and follow up to Jackson square where there are a couple of museums and the horse rides are also available. New Orleans is an easy city to walk around. Check hotel prices if you have a family and are budget minded-I do not feel you can beat this hotel. It even has some playground equipment for small children, The desl clerk did advise not to come back when it is dark for our safety. Look on internet for other parking at night or take a taxi. We've stayed in these facilities when they were part of the Navy Base. Glad they are still available because they offer nice, clean lodging in close proximity to the Quarter. Hotel is clean and rooms nice and large. Only downsides are no elevators to 2nd floor, no signs indicating where to turn to get there and no in room safes. If you have heavy luggage, I wouldn't advise. You need to turn left at sign for Mardi Gras museum when you finally get onto Gen Dugalle coming from New Orleans side off of hwy 90/cresent city connection. […] The ferry is pedestrian only, No Cars.....so dont depend on that when driving. To travel back to New Orleans business district across the river fron Algiers, you need to take the tollbridge back, so have some change ready...$1.00. If u decide to store any valuables in the lock boxes, dont dare loose your key. We happened to do just that and it costs us $203 for a locksmith on a weekday normal hours. Otherwise the place is a great deal and riding the pedestrian ferry was something different for us. Cab ride to and from hotel was $10-15 one way to get across the river back to business dist/french qtr area. Would definitely recommend if you hv no special needs. Read more

Very comfortable bed and great pillows. Loved the sheets also. Didn't have lotions and shower caps, just shampoo, but I always bring those items with me so I didn't need them. Big room with table and chairs plus recliner. Kitchenette was very convenient.

STAY WAS VERY COMFORTABLE...STAFF WERE POLITE. WILL STAY AGAIN. LOCATION JUST OVER THE MISSISSIPPI BRIDGE ONLY ABOUT A 7 MIN DRIVE TO DOWNTOWN. THE FERRY FOR CARS WAS BROKEN SO WE WERE UNABLE TO TAKE THAT ROUTE SO WE DROVE AND PARKED DOWNTOWN. GREAT WEEKEND

Friendly staff, located on a fromer military base, it was quiet and well secured. The rooms have kitchenetts and are well supplied with utencils. The TV in our room was from the '90's and there is no pool or gym. Over all I would recommend this place.

It's actually a decent place, but obviously overpriced. I would definitely stay here again if I can get a better deal next time. The area seemed safe, considering it was on an old Naval Base and I saw plenty of police officers patrolling the area. Not close to any good food, but there's some choices of fast food places close by.

have not stayed in a room often with a kitchen. did make the space open and easy to fit it but the food smell when getting there was disappointing. left the windows open overnight, but still smelled the next day. so would recommend it - but would share the qualifications regarding the location and the possible room smell.

It's located inside an old US navy base and i personally didn't like the neighboorhood as soon as you got outside the base, but don't worry it takes only about 5-10 minutes to drive to the French Quarter and you can also take the ferry wich is 1$ with a car or free without.

We loved the secure feeling we got from staying on this 'retired' Navy base. Loved the quaint, historic neighborhood of Algiers. The staff was helpful and friendly. The kitchen was a bonus. The only room for improvement is that our room was missing a black-out curtain and the vacuuming left some room for improvement but these are temporary, fixable […] things.
