"Local staycation"
First visit to roosevelt for this local. Nice facility but all services VERY expensive. Could pay about same for a room 1 block away at the Ritz and have all the same amenities for much more reasonable priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice but not as nice as the accomodations we had in the same hotel the past two years.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel - needs more water!"
The hotel if a fine old establishment with a good, quiet location near the French Quarter. However, I have one complaint. The first night they provide 2 small bottles of water. We stayed a week, but they would not replenish the water. Tap water is not great for those from out of town who are used to other types of water with fewer or different minerals […] or desalinization. It seems penurious that the Roosevelt cannot provide 2 small bottles of water a day. Also, the hot water did not run up to our room in the afternoon until we ran it for 10min. Small complaints about a great hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for Jazzfest"
Great hotel just outside the French Quarter that was perfect for Jazzfest. A short walk to the Jazzfest shuttles. The hotel has that old world elegance without being pretentious. Great heated pool and hot tub on the 4th floor that was a perfect way to unwind after a full day of music. The staff could not have been more accommodating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Really great historic hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Roosevelt. Location was great...far enough from the French quarter to be peaceful but close enough to walk. The room was nice, clean and well appointed. It was similar to our room at the Ritz across the street but about $250/night cheaper. Service was outstanding. We found our new favorite New Orleans hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome Stay"
The stay was very nice! Clean rooms and very nice staff. The only issues, and its a small issue, is they check up on you too often to make sure you're ok by coming and knocking at the door like 3 times a day. Overall I love this place and will stay again with the kids next time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not as good as expected"
The hotel is beautiful, in particular the lobby. However, we had a room with a broken toilet seat and toilet that did not flush completely. We had maintenance come twice, but the problem was never really resolved. I also felt like front desk didn't really want to help us with this. So we were stuck with a toilet that didn't flush properly for four days, […] although the toilet seat was replaced. I was in town to attend a wedding, and was part of a wedding party so I didn't have time to keep following up with maintenance. I feel they should have switched our rooms immediately and we shouldn't have had to chase them to fix this. Also, although we refused turn down service one night, the duration of our stay we did not receive turn down service at all even though it was requested. Overall, nice hotel with a really top notch cocktail bar, but the service was pretty bad. I probably would not stay here again. But go to the Sazerac...really amazing cocktails! "Great hotel, convenient location"
Our 1 night stay in New Orleans could not have been any more perfect. The room was breathtaking from the moment we walked in, the robes were so comfortable, the bed was one of the best out there, and the bathroom was impressive with the TV and ferragamo toiletries. It is about 3 blocks away from Bourbon street and other wonderful restaurants not too […] far off. There is a great bar downstairs that was very lively as well. "Gorgeous lobby, but..."
The Roosevelt is an old style hotel the rooms are small, the lobby is gorgeous but maybe better to visit for a drink than to stay overnight. No coffee in the room, no fridge The wifi is definitely not state of the are and is 29 dollars a day for in your room wifi (only good to check email nothing else). We had our conference here and no wifi in the […] hotel meant that to do the work required of me i had to use my phone as a mobile hotspot. Very glamourous hotel with great restaurants and modern amenities. I wish I had a chance to try the spa because it looked amazing. We had an event in the Blue Room which was lovely and the food was delicious. I will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Hotel"
The hotel itself was beautiful and the staff was super-friendly. Very hip and chic inside the hotel. I'm sure other rooms had better views and maybe it's true that when booked through this site, you get the least desirable room. We had a very nice suite but the view of a neighboring building with graffiti and parking garage was horrible. The mini bar […] had not been restocked, one of the robes was missing and the bath amenities had been used. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel for family"
I checked in on the 24th of Dec and left on the 26th. This is an excellent hotel. Service was wonderful. particularly since I stayed another 2 days in another hotel that had terrible service and I regret doing that. I lost my IPAD in the lobby did not realise it until a few hours later that i had lost it. I called front desk explained to them they […] sent me to security and they had found it waiting for me to call........ "Great place to stay during the holidays"
This hotel is particularly charming during the holiday season. The Christmas decor in the lobby is breathtaking. The rooms are fairly small and the air circulation isn't great, but the beds are luxurious and overall, this hotel shines. I would stay here for business or vacation.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Waldorf Schmaldorf"
Based on many good reviews, we were looking forward to staying this hotel. But it was rather disappointing. First, although the lobby decoration was quite beautiful, overall atmosphere of the hotel was not very welcoming due to the staff. Only people who were friendly to us were house keeping ladies, one bell boy, a man who worked in Teddy's in evening, […] and a man who checked us in. When we were checking out, we weren't even asked if we enjoyed our staying. I figured that they really didn't care about customers or maybe because we booked the hotel through Expedia with some discount. One of the concierges was so snobby and uppity that it was almost unpleasant. There was no Southern hospitality feel to it at all. Second, the room was small. The first room they put us was bigger, but it was located by a big generator or heater or something outside in the ally. A few minutes after we sat down, that thing started going, spewing black smoke and making loud noise that we could not even hear ourselves. We called the front desk and asked about it and they moved us to a different room. The view was a lot better, but it was also a lot smaller. Lastly, the hotel did not feel as luxurious as I'd expect from the name "a Waldorf Astoria." They provide house keeping twice a day. There is an extra TV in the bathroom (but why?). I'd rather have a coffee machine and a bath tub instead. TV doesn't work too well. Toiletries are kinda weak. Bed is comfortable, though. IMO it's overrated. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fantastic weekend!"
The moment I entered the lobby I was overwhelmed by the beautiful Christmas decorations. The hotel staff was very helpful and the rooms were very spacious. "Do not visit at Xmas time"
Do not visit this hotel before Christmas time as it is a total mad house of screaming kids in the bar, the lobby, and nearly no way to walk out of the elevators with out slamming into a tourist that has just come to gawk at the lights and is not spending a cent at the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Grand Dame of Nola"
What a storied place. Presidents, movie-stars & gangsters have all stayed here...and us, just regular folk. It's impossible to not be overcome by the lobby...especially at Christmas with all the lights and trees. The pine scent was so nice. The front desk and service was all friendly enough. A couple of issues: I didn't want the 1st room because it […] was right next to the elevator...just a personal preference. They gave us another room right away. However, that one had problems with the TV. After the engineers came up and verified it, they moved us to another room. 3rd time's a charm. It was large enough for us...big bathroom with multi-shower heads and Ferragamo toilletries. And there was a TV in the john! And the bed was soooo nice. We would come back at night to find chocolates on our pillows. It is close enough to the Quarter to have quick access, but far enough to be just outside the crazy-zone. I prefer the Quarter in the daytime anyway...I would def stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cant Wait To Return"
Absolutely beautiful hotel with superb hospitality! Perfectly located - close enough to all points of interest & within walking distance everywhere. Far enough away from Bourbon & Canal streets to ensure a quiet night's rest and unwanted riff-raff. The only complaint is the walls are super thin. "Great hotel for all!"
This is one of the most beautiful historic hotels I've ever seen! The entire staff, that we came in contact with, we're totally helpful, as well as friendly. They offered all the amenities that you could ask for. Simply stated it is a first-class hotel! They were in the process of decorating for Christmas, so it looked like a winter wonderland. "Almost good with disappointments."
Although generally good there were disappointments. 1. There are no coffee facilities in the room. It is not publicised that complimentary coffee is however available through room service albeit a small pot for two. 2. Wifi facilities are available from $15 per day but again it's not publicised that a free 3 hour service is available by using a code […] of 'mail' in their coupon section when logging in. 3. Car parking is offered at $40 per night presumably plus a substantial tip. You can park your car yourself in a bright well maintained car park across the street for $15 for 24 hours and no tip. 4. Absence of complimentary drinking water. 5. No iron in the room as described. These items represent apparent greed or inefficiency by the organisation which is inexcusable for a hotel of this calibre. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
