Having stayed in many a Country Inn & Suites, I thought this was a great one. It's in the middle of the city, not at the edge of town, as most of the properties in this chain are. Room 508 is situated right next to the elevator, which, in and of itself, is not bad. Someone has to be by the elevator, right? The problem at Country Inn & Suites is that the elvator beeps every time someone enters or exits the elevator (motion sensor?). Since the floors look out to a quasi-courtyard, you can hear people getting on and off the elevator, […] no matter which floor they are one! The worst part of Room 508 in this regard is that the door is not sealed, so you can hear everything that is going on outside. Besides the noise, the room is situated essentially on the roof and is next to the air unit for the building. What this means is that you feel the vibration of the unit constantly. After driving several hours, we were ready to settle in for a little once we arrived in NEw Orleans. We were there at 3:00 pm exactly, which is the time I was told was check in. I called the day before to verify this. We had to wait for our room to be cleaned, however. We were not in our room until after 4:00 pm! It was extremely frustrating.

I came here for business during Superbowl. The price was great and the location is perfect. It's across the street from the French Qtr and almost better than staying in the quarter b/c there is less traffic. The guys at the Valet were so helpful and super friendly!!

The hotel is comprised of old warehouse buildings and uses the space well. Clean, comfortable, attractively laid out. Staff are congenial. Buffet breakfast is welcome. Wish that it were easier to use stairs instead of the elevator to go up and down. I'd would stay here again and recommend it to others.

This was our first time to this city. It was a spur of the moment decision & I made the reservation while on the road & only an hour before arriving in the city. This worked out really quite well. The hotel was at walking distance from the convention center as well as the French quarter. However, the room was quiet without noise from the unavoidable partiers. Valet parking at $28/night was at market price and doable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I stayed here for 5 days on a business trip. This is my preferred hotel in the area when it's as cheap as the La Quinta a block away, which is my second preferred option. Pros: * Internet is actually usable. Most hotels struggle to stream a youtube video. I speed tested my connection to 500 kbits down and up - not as fast as your home connection, […] but still respectable for a hotel. Plenty of wireless access points, with good coverage, and no passwords to manage. * Hot items on the free breakfast. At a lot of places the only hotel goto is the waffle maker. While I stayed I had a lot of decent biscuits and gravy, some scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, etc. * Have Comedy Central. For some reason, the majority of hotels I've stayed at don't have Comedy Central, and I like having Jon Stewart deliver me to dream land. * Heated pool. A 24-hr convenience store is quite useful for the weary traveler. Rooms were quite clean, however without being so extreme as being misrepresented, not necessarily as spacious or inviting as the ones in pictures. […] Did not use exercise or pool facilities, but it was quite useful to have continental breakfast every morning - French toast, sausage, pancakes, juice bar, cereal, waffle bar, and so on. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Nice service & wonderful breakfast! I was really happy with their breakfast buffet. The only drawback was that the internet was down on the day that I arrived. But they fixed it the next day, and I did not have any problem throughout the rest of my stay there.

The only reason i wouldn't rate it a 5 was because the fitness room was a little skimpy and the breakfast was ok, but could have been better. All of the amenities were wonderful for by business trip. It became obvious on day 2 that the maid was not vaccuming the carpet when found nail clippings near the bed that did not belong to me.
