523 Loft is a fun edgy small hotel in the heart of the New Orleans’ central business district. Modern furnishings are a nice foil for this old classic... building. The rooms are spacious and have towering ceilings. The overall effect is very pleasant. This is a small hotel. Staff is minimal (one person at the front desk and housekeeping staff) but very helpful. Valet parking is shared with the sister property, International House, which is located around the block so it can take a few extra minutes to get your car. There is no restaurant on property but good eating options abound in the neighborhood. This hotel has one big problem, the bar on the first floor. On three nights out of our four night stay the bar was closed and not a problem. The forth night the bar was open and booming. This is a loud DJ driven spot with extremely loud music and penetrating bass. We could feel the bass blasting on the third floor. The music lasted until 3:00 am. We enjoyed most of our experience at 523 Loft but will probably not stay there again because of the bar noise. by Art S from Birmingham, AL on 11/18/10
