You will find fancier hotels near the convention center, but their prices are much higher. Very convenient location. Springhill was above average in cleanliness, facilities and the professionalism of the staff. The rooms are very large. "Stay out of room 304 if you want to sleep!"
Room 304 was next to elevators and i assume the mechanical room was very close. If you can sleep with a constant whining sound you'll love this room. Peters street side and there are 2 bars across the street that college aged students partied hard and long until 4am. We turn up the TV to drown out the music to get to sleep. Very convenient for convention center and close walk for the French Quarter. Not far from the River Walk and trolly's. Room carpeting and furniture is a little outdated, but the room was clean and the housekeeping staff was great. This hotel was almost the closest to the Ernest Moriel Convention Center. It was two blocks away and an easy walk. This hotel is also is located in the art and warehouse district. My room smelled horrible due to some takeout food still in the refrigerator and microwave which showed that they did not clean the room well before I came. In addition, I was placed right above the AC Vent which made a horrible noise and even made the floor vibrate mostly at night.
