"A Convenient below average hotel"
First impression was great, once I entered my room, noticed soiled, stained decorative cover, and stained mattresses. Shower leaked, and was more like a drizzle. Housekeeping was below average. "Stay out of room 304 if you want to sleep!"
Room 304 was next to elevators and i assume the mechanical room was very close. If you can sleep with a constant whining sound you'll love this room. "A little disappointing"
Hotel had a musty smell. We are a family of 5 so we picked this hotel because it has suites. The couch that pulled out came all the way out to the TV. So after the boys bedtime, in order to get from one side of the room to the other we had to climb over the pull out couch bed. Also, the room only had one mirror in the whole suite. "Charged Double for Dirty Room"
When we walked up to our room the door was ajar making us believe someone was in there...we waked in and found dirty stained towels...Called to ask the status of the room...they "helped" us by someone bringing up a full set of additional towels. It is in a ghetto neighborhood. The parking lot was full so they made us pay extra for parking our car in […] a lot a quarter mile away. "Beware: Dreadful service!!!!"
My family (4 people) stayed in this hotel for a week. Every day we would have to call main desk to brings us towels (missing), at some point cleaning lady left us 1 set... Room was not cleaned properly, coffee and sugar packets missing every day, gigantic line (30-40 people) for the breakfast buffet. Last night I asked the lady at the main desk to order […] us a taxi to take us to the airport but it would be a company that would accept credit cards as I was low on cash. She told us the price was $33 and CC were OK. Next day, at the airport, driver asked for $56 and told us he would only take cash. Running around trying to find cash station 60 min before departure! "Not the best I have been to!!"
Not that easy to find, wasn't informed that they only had valet parking so had to pay extra for that! Staff was friendly for the most part! No help at desk! Liked that we could deliver food and they brought to our room instead of us having to go to the front desk! Overall not the best but very comfortable room and bed!! OK for an anniversary weekend! "SpringHill Suites Marriot-New Orleans"
My room smelled horrible due to some takeout food still in the refrigerator and microwave which showed that they did not clean the room well before I came. In addition, I was placed right above the AC Vent which made a horrible noise and even made the floor vibrate mostly at night. I told the front desk and they moved me but did not seem to be happy […] to change my rooms. I would not really recommend this hotel to others due to my experience.
