Located in the business district of New Orleans, this boutique hotel is on the St. Charles Ave Streetcar Line and 1 block from the French Quarter. Lafayette Square, Aquarium of the Americas, Jackson Square, and St. Louis Cathedral are among the many attractions within a half-mile. Hotel Features.PJ’s Coffee & Café, serving a variety of refreshments and light fare options, is located on the lobby and features a view of the streetcar stop. I booked this hotel bc it was within our budget (our cheap "go to" hotel was booked). We went for the WWE elimination Chamber PPV. There was only one front desk employee working to check in a large crowd. She greeted each of us in a very friendly manner and took the time to explain everything. Our rooms were a bit small (average size for New Orleans) […] but it was very clean and seemed to be newly renovated. My grandmother came with us and has a hard time walking long distances. The valet offered to flag us a cab. When we left the arena there were no cabs available. My grandma was able to walk the short distance back to the hotel with no problem. I stayed with my kids, 13 & 15 and we were extremely pleased with this hotel. We have stayed at other hotels in this area but this was a great experience. Every staff member we came in contact with was great! They were all very nice and helpful. Hotel has just had a major refurbishment, so most of it has that new paint smell/feel. The staff really MAKE the stay - the front desk and bell staff were wonderful, the housekeeping was prompt and cheerful. Our room was spacious (there are smaller rooms, but we had one of the corner rooms with a HUGE window) and the beds were nice and firm. There is […] a coffee shop downstairs - good for a nice morning jolt (and much better than the room coffee... which I would not recommend). You can get plenty of better food anywhere in the French Quarter (and you didn't come to New Orleans to eat Starbucks-style pastries!), so just grab the coffee and be on your way. Parking is a bit steep ($30 a night with valet) but better than trying to find your own (the streets are under major construction). The fitness center is small but two treadmills and some barbells was enough for me - again, it is nice and clean and neat. There IS a resort fee (about $10 a night) but this is very, very clear when booking and at the front desk - no one is trying to hide that charge (so please keep this in mind when reading the other reviews that say these are hidden). Finally, the front desk folks will most likely send you to Daisy Dukes if you ask for a food recommendation on the cheap (or in the early morning).
