Baymont Inn and Suites New Orleans

So this was my second time staying at this hotel, the first time was a good stay but this second time was not good, although they were working on improving the hotel due to new owners but let me begin by saying when I got my room I opened the door and it was in the middle of being remodeled so I had to return to the desk to get another. The second room […] smelled like smoke (which was smoke free) by then I was tired from a 6hr drive and just winded up sticking with it, the next morning I heard banging next door come to find out they were remodeling the room next door, kuddos to remodeling but NOT while guests are there sleeping, now on my last day 30min before I left the water was cut off in the middle of my shower. I am not one to complain but I was there for a couple of days and no kind of compen was offered to my family and I. NEVER STAYING AGAIN! Read more

I was extremely impressed with this hotel. I found it through Hotels.com. The rate was really good. I was just looking for a place for my family to stay the night before we left on our cruise ("all we need is a bed"). Well we got a whole lot more. The breakfast was wonderful, beds were comfotable and staff was very friendly.

There were piles of dirt & hairballs in the hallway in front of the room doors like the housekeeping service had swept the room and forgot to pick up the trash. The roof was leaking in the hallway on the 1st floor. There was a small dog running free in the hallway with no owner in sight.

When I walked into the hotel after driving several hours from FL, there was no one at the front desk. I waited several minutes and then called out "Hello!" The front desk attendant walked out from around the corner talking on her personal cell phone. I could hear her telling the person on the phone that "some crazy person was yelling at the front desk." […] She gave me major attitude and asked if I had been waiting long. I told her that I had been waiting long enough. She said she had only been gone for a minute. I was waiting for longer that that. She gave me my key and continued to give me attitude for questions I asked that she should have told me in the first place. Like where is the elevator? Our bathroom had roaches, and trash was on the floor of our 'clean' room. I encountered more attitude and trouble with the same desk attendant when I asked her for change for the washing machine. She failed to tell me that I could get change from the drink machines, that bit I figured out on my own. Luckily, we spent more time out of the hotel than in it. We were really only there to sleep. I won't be staying at that hotel or another La Quinta ever again. I used to stay a La Quinta Inns frequently because they were inexpensive, clean, friendly service and free breakfast. Overall a nice hotel. In a nice place. Found a can tab behind a curtain. The room was comfortable and not musty smelling. The pool was not opened, but repairs were being wrapped up. I will come back.

This hotel had a few problems - when we arrived the clerk at the front desk did not have any key cards to make keys. In trying to reach other people, including the GM she received no help at all in. No one would call her back. She finally had to go to the motel NEXT door to borrow some from them. The room itself had an incredibly bad mold and musty […] smell. This concerned us because of our small children. When we tried to get luggage cart to get our bags to the room, they had all been taken to other rooms by guests and not returned. I was extremely disappoints in this hotel. It was very unclean and the toilet in our room overflowed all over the floor. And when management was notified, they said maintenance was gone for the day. Our consolation was a plunger the manager offered us. We had a double bed non-smoking room and we were only offered a smoking room or a single bed room, […] which simply we could not accept. The stay was close to perfect, but the service was horrible. We asked for towels three times, and even tried to find the maid's closet, but they never gave us any. So, I would only recommend this hotel if your party is 3 or less.

The staff had terrible attitude. The elevator was super slow. No hot water for 2 days. The tub wasn't draining properly. Continental breakfast ends at 9 am, not 10 am like the hotels we stayed in the past. They ran out of spoons and paper plates during breakfast. They didn't replenish toiletries when we ran out. We checked in while we saw a team of repairmen entering the hotel. We weren't told of any problems at the hotel. In the morning when we didn't have any hot water in the shower we found out that the hotel had not had consistent hot water for the last 3-4 days at least! If we had been informed of this at check in we could have gone elsewhere! Instead […] we had to leave the next day unable to shower in the freezing water. At breakfast as well there were no spoons or plates available for guests! How does a hotel run out of spoons and plates! Nice on the outside but a big let down inside. The pool was more like a swamp. Elevator was broken during the day. Foul water smell around the elevator. Hardly any food for breakfast. No OJ, limited choice, slow to re-stock. Lousy wifi connection. We will not be going back.

My stay at this hotel was very nice.We arrived latter in the evening.The staff was very nice and welcoming to us.We got into our room and it was very clean and the a/c was running and keeping the room at a very nice temp for my family and I.The three days we were at this location was wonderfull. The staff always were polite to us as we came and went.I […] had to go down and get some extra towels one time because I left the do not disturb sign on my door when i left and no maid service that day because of this.The staff were very helpfull with this and gave me more towels.My only two complaints were the luggage cart that I used to take my luggage down to my vehicle had been tapped together with duck tape and one of the doors going outside could not be entered thru because the card reader would not unlock it. One of the staff that seen me with the cart stated they had two new ones ordered without me even saying anything about the cart. I loved the fact that when we went swimming there was a cart of towels out by the pool we could grab instead of having to remember to bring towels from our room.The hotel is located a little way out of town but I was in the French Quarter within 20 minutes. There are many food places located around this hotel and it is pretty easy to get too off the interstate. I would definately recommend this hotel as long as you don't object to driving a few minutes when getting out for entertainment. Read more

Took the family to New Orleans. The hotel is just far enough off of I-10 to be quiet. Driving through the neighborhood, I was concerned. Near the hotel, however, the area seems fine. La chambre est propre, mais on avait 3 serviettes pour 5 et on a du en demander sans résultat. pour faire la chambre le dimanche on à du attendre toutes la matinée pour qu'il la fasse mais du coup on a demander de nouveau des serviettes mais là encore il nous en on remplacer que 2.
