"Location only good thing"
The location of this property is great, within walking or streetcar distance from wherever you want to go. And the room was comfortable, but small. But we had to call down to get housekeeping to clean the room almost every day. And all they did when they came was make the bed and put new towels in the bathroom. Didn't vacuum or even pick up the dirty […] towels. The halls we extremely cold. We also had problems with the coffee maker in the room. Pay a little more and stay someplace nicer. Fine room and location but we will not bring our dog next time. We were called to come check on her and it wasn't our dog. The pet floor requires ear plugs from all the barking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel & Location"
Great location to stay. The outside of the hotel and the lobby looks wonderful. My only complaint was that they placed us in a smoking room when we asked for a non-smoking room. Right when we opened the door to our hotel room, we were greeted with a smokey smell throughout the entire room. We called down to the front desk to see if we could have a non-smoking […] room and they told us the entire floor was a non-smoking floor; however, there were ash trays left by the hotel in all corners of the room. When we came back home from our trip, our clothes wreaked of cigarette smoke. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Location Bad customer service"
I could not get the room cooled. Even tough I turned the thermostat down it would not cool the room. When I arrived I stood at the receptionist desk and the front desk person did not acknowledge me. I waited for about 5-10 minutes and said "excuse me, is this where I check in" Her reply was "check in is at 3pm" She was rude. I had to pull information […] out of her she was not forth coming with assistance. I will say the next morning I went down and she was in a much better mood. She seemed eager to help. "Average hotel. Nothing wrong but unexceptional"
I would gladly stay here again, but it doesn't jump out at you as exceptional for any reason. Staff was very nice. Rooms were perfectly average. Clean, okay location, all in all, equal to most chain hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
too much noise from adjoining room. Called security both nights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Only complaint is that the breakfast was served 6-9 during the week and until 10 am on weekends. If you like to sleep in, go elsewhere for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Carpet needs cleaning throughout. Rooms had odor. Staff was nice, but had trouble with confirmed reservations, room keys not working, security seems a little lax outside with loitering.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent room for the price"
This is an average hotel room. Good location as the French Quarter is within walking distance. Room was not cleaned 100% but it was decent enough considering the price and location. There was a fridge in the room which was nice. The hotel does allow pets and there were quite a few there while I was staying. Overall, I would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel with Great Problem Solvers!"
I arrived to a room with a horrible mildewy stinch. I complained the first time, staff came up and sprayed air freshner, which didn't help. I complained a second time, staff informed me that they would put in an ozone cleaner to help with the smell, they didn't. The third time I complained, they upgraded me to a suite and paid my parking. I am glad […] that the situation was rectified. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Poot breakfast and nice staff"
A good cutomer care. A very efficient room service. The blackout curtain was broken. The maintenance man fixed and changed it very very fast. Breakfast: no cream cheese one day and not enough butter for all, no butter, cream cheese and bagel the day after, no cream cheese bagel and yogurt and knife the next day. The lady in charge if the breakfast was […] very nice. But the management doesn't order as they should or worst: they spare money on the food..... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast needs improvement. Need additional staff during breakfast. Not enough food for amount of people trying to eat. One person CAN NOT provide good service when there are more than 20 customer trying to eat and not enough supplies to accommodate. "Nice location, but..."
The location was excellent, but there were some issues with the hotel. 1. Parking cost an additional $ 30.00 per day. I wish someone would have informed me. 2. Free breakfast was nice, if they only would stock the dining area. They were always missing coffee, forks and knives, and the food was always missing. 3. The rooms A/C system appeared to be centrally […] controlled and I could not get our room to a comfortable temp. Others in the hotel had a similar issue and at times it felt like a sauna. We had to open the hallway door and let the cooler air from the hallway into our room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The bathroom was dirty, oldhe toliet paper holder fell off the wall. The front dest staff was not fridly when I arrived.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was terrific. But a lot of the amenities were not working and there were no alternatives provided. The gym was under construction and the only suggestion was to pay to go to a different gym "somewhere on X road." And the printer in the "business center" was not working. But there was no sign warning anyone. Also, I requested a room change after […] incessant crying of a dog next door. Staff did quickly change the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"mixed experience at la quinta"
The positives: the rooms are quite spacious for New Orleans, the hotel is centrally located, and continental breakfast and free wifi set this hotel apart from many neighboring ones that charge for breakfast/wifi. The rooms had everything we needed, and beds were comfortable. The negatives: the front desk is not organized at all. The reservation was […] for 3 people, and despite several calls to add the names of the other 2 guests to the room front desk didn't actually do this which led to a lot of problems with our keys. The elevator broke around when I was trying to check out, and I wasn't particularly happy about having to carry bags down 14 flights of stairs. Also, the room wasn't particularly clean. Fortunately the bathroom had been recently retiled, but we found all manners of unidentified and unidentifiable hair on the floor, blankets, etc in the room. And one minor quibble: the breakfast coffee was pretty bad - I've had worse (the whole k-cup craze), but it could be better. I am not sure I would stay at this place again. "Ok if you need a place to rest your head"
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Don't look for additional ammenties. Coffee maker was a one cup, no fridge or microwave. Not sure they changed the sheets every day and the bath towels had a funny smell to them. Front desk staff was friendly, hotel was clean. Had to use the luggage room since we had a later flight and I liked that […] they had it in a locked room, run by one person and you got a tag for your luggage. "Nice and affordable"
It was a great place if you only needed to stay a night or so near the French quarter.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room had been rented prior to renting to me. Someone had taken a shower and left bathroom a mess before changing rooms. No other non-smoking rooms were available. Hotel had to clean bathroom. Sheets on bed were all wrinkled. I was not impressed, and I travel often. Hampton Inns are far superior for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price, many maintenance issues"
Overall the hotel was clean. Check-in was easy, even though we were an hour early. However, the room view was terrible...a wall and an air conditioner unit. The shower would only run hot water. The air conditioner never seemed to get the room very cold, and it seemed to be on a motion detector so that it didn't blow as cold while we were trying to sleep. […] A trip to find ice turned up two machines with no ice. I overheard the lady up front complain to a worker that the printer in the business center had been out of ink for four days, and she was getting many complaints and had reported it many times. The hotel is pet friendly, and during the quest for ice we found one floor with a dog in the room barking loud enough you could hear it from the stairwell. Overall the value was decent for the price, considering the alternatives in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice, but not the best value."
If you are used to staying at La quinta Hotels, this place may disappoint you. Compared to other locations, the rooms are quite small, they don't come with fridges or microwaves, the pool is smaller than the hotel room, and it was expensive! Then you have to pay a lot of money for overnight parking. I liked being able to walk almost everywhere we needed […] to go. The Aquarium, French Quarter and some wonderful restaurants were right nearby, But I think we would have saved money if we stayed at a La Quinta just outside of downtown, drove into downtown and paid daily parking fees. Or we could have spent the same amount of money and stayed at a much nicer hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Don't get scammed"
I stayed at the inn on 4/30 and 5/01. They charge 29.00 a night to park your car. This was the first time I have ever been charged a fee for parking at a hotel that I have stayed at. I will never stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay for the location; don't expect luxury"
We were invited to New Orleans by friends with only 6-weeks notice. It being Jazz-Fest weekend, La Quinta was the best we could find in our price range. But the festival weekend pushed it to the top of that range, and I would not pay that much to stay here on an average weekend. The location is great--it is easily walkable to the French Quarter and […] close to the streetcar. If you like walking, like we do, you can walk the Garden District also. The desk staff was also super nice and helpful. The room was fine, a bit small for two double beds, but more than workable for our purposes. The bathroom was a nice size, but our tub drain was clogged and slow draining. It was unpleasant to shower in a tub full of water, and the water pressure of the shower was pretty low. Finally, we had a corner room right by the elevator, which made it very loud--both with people talking as the got on and off and with the random sounds elevators make. Those sounds woke me up a few times during the nights even with the TV's white noise. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Won't stay here again..."
Due to jazz festival the selection was limited. My biggest complaint was the quality of the room. There was a rattling noise from the wall and air conditioner. Complained about and was told that it was part of the building and nothing can be done. They did offer a transfer to another room, but couldn't guarantee that the noise wouldn't be present. I […] am sensitive to noise, so it became a big issues. The gym was poorly maintained and old equipment. Will spend my money somewhere else next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Reserved a smoking double room...drove all night and since it was a 1 night stay and a 3pm check in time I used the morning sight seeing and walking all over the city. I was very hot and tired by 3pm and was looking forward to getting in my room and showering and resting up for dinner plans that evening. Checking in at the hotel found the reservations […] were incorrect as a non smokiing room had been reserved but the clerk said there was a smoking room being cleaned and by the time I walked the 8 blocks to get my car and came back the room would be ready however she said she was getting off work and advised the person coming in would be glad to help me. I walked in 85 degree heat and got my car came back and this clerk was very indifferent and the room was still not cleaned and toshe said to have a seat and wait 30 minutes...by this time it was getting close to 4 oclock..after waiting I went back to check on the status of the room and the clerk said you cant expect us to have all the rooms cleaned by check in due to late check outs. I advised I was hot and tired and wanted to get settled in but I would wait a little longer. After several trips to the front desk and being told another 20 min each time I finally had enough and asked for the manager..who finally got me checked in and now it was 5pm. I was very disappointed by the front desk clerks indifference and the long wait when there is such a late check in for guests especially when I only had one night in the city. ALso I feel it is highway robbery to charge another 29.00 for parking in addition to the room rate. The room had 2 tiny full size beds 1 wash cloth and bath towel and 1 tiny bar of soap. I have never stayed at a LaQuinta where the beds were so small an average sized couple could not fit on comfortably and the rudness of the desk clerk and the wait for a room after check in time and the sparce accomodiations. I will deffinantly consider other hotels in the area of my future trips. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel has adequate discount amenities. Be sure to have your day/night planned ahead of time. There is no concierge. The valet is your best bet for directions or ideas. "Great Location, but gave me the wrong room"
I asked for two beds and they have me one. Obviously, this did not work for the three of us. The hotel offered a two bed room, but on the second night of our stay. We were too involved with the vacation to go through the hassle of packing and unpacking again. Darryl, the manager, was rarely available. We made do by turning the oversized couch cushions […] into a bed. Outside of that mix up, the hotel was pretty good. Clean rooms, decent service. Can't comment on the breakfast because we never woke up that early. Not a fancy place, but not run down either. Price to Location ratio is hard to beat. Walking distance to Bourbon St, Harrah's Casino, and the park/water. Check out Felix Oyster Bar if you go. Bring your own shampoo too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"La Quinta New Orleans: fine, but easy to do better"
The La Quinta has updated decor, quality furnishings, a basic but free continental breakfast, and is kept clean. My bed was comfy. Good location, a couple blocks from Canal...no French Quarter noise, but easy walk to the action. Also easy walk to museums. MAJOR issue: this is perhaps the nosiest hotel I've ever stayed in--seems to magnify the most ordinary […] sounds. In my first room on the 5th floor, I thought the water pipe in my bathroom had burst every time the neighbor turned on the sink. It was a horrifically loud noise, waking me from dead sleep. Also heard every word of every conversation in the hall (not raucous people, just polite neighbors making conversation), and I was startled every time someone closed their door. Also could actually feel the vibrations of the occasional garbage truck on the street. Asked to be moved and was placed on 11th floor. Street noise and water noise much reduced, but hallway noise still weirdly magnified. Service has been helpful though not particularly friendly at times, stark contrast to the amazing hospitality I've received early everywhere else (including the 5 other hotels I've visited...here for a convention and friends are staying other places). If you can get a room very cheap, this is a fine place. But there are often better places for equal or less money (consider the Country Inn & Suites one block away). "Good for the price"
The fitness center sucks (the typical tiny room with one treadmill stuck on a permanent incline that is not running at the speed it says, an elliptical that makes you feel like you're about to fall forward on you're face, a stationary bike with a seat that may impair your ability to have children, and a weight machine that is damaged...). The room was […] nice, apart from some minor damage to the furniture from a previous guest. The breakfast was fine if you aren't diabetic and don't require protein in your diet. The wireless was so slow it was pointless to even try to use it. But, again, good price for the location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"LaQuinta - Fr. Qtr. - Great location, good hotel"
I'm originally from New Orleans, and was bringing my girlfriend with me on a business/personal trip back to see the city. The location of this hotel was great, just 2 blocks from the French Quarter, in a quiet, safe neighborhood. In our first room, the floor was a little dank and mildewy. We transferred to another floor and were pleased. There were […] a couple of other appearance issues: parts of the elevator wall and floorboards were cracked and missing -- from wear and tear. Minor, but distracting. The housekeeping staff were terrific: friendly, courteous, and prompt. The front desk was cordial and helpful, as were the valets outside. Small thing: Rather than the usual, loud "home-screen" when you first turn on the TV, theirs was a bright, full moon over the ocean, with the sound of the waves. No commercials pushing on-demand movies, etc. It was very peaceful, and we used it late at night to help my girlfriend sleep soundly. Nice touch, and thoughtful. I'd recommend this as a good, balanced 3-star hotel. Reasonably priced, not elegant, but close to the action in the Quarter and comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"our stay from 6/6-6/9"
The conventience of being by the French Quarter was a plus, however it was offset by the cleanliness of the hotel and our room itself. The carpeting was not clean, the water in the shower would back up, we found bugs in the room, the pool was yellow/green and unusable. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or colleaguesGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I was charged $39 per night to park a 1/2 Ton pick-up truck as I was told it was over-sized. I think that is outrageous. My room hand a window unit A/C unit that clunked all night. Great location and very clean but I would not return and pay $39 dollars to park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
