The room was clean, location great. Bed was pretty old and the leftover breakfast pastries were reused each day (according to the staff).. But it was a cheap stay and good location. Dont really reccomed the rooms without a window, they are like caves. The walls are very thin, so hope u are a heavy sleeper! The staff was super nice!

I paid an additional $20.00 a room for balcolnies. We were given I Courtyard room and I room upstairs with a small balcony overlooking pretty much nothing. The rooms were very clean and well kept.

Location of Place d'Armes Hotel cannot be beat; 1/2 block to Jackson Square, next door to Muriel's for fine dining, and across the street from the museum. The lovely garden and courtyard in the center of the hotel was the perfect spot to sip a glass a wine and rest my feet in the afternoon. Being situated right near Jackson Sq it was so convenient to go anywhere. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, especially Corey. There were a couple of minor problems in our room which did not effect our stay and we noted them to the front desk as we were departing. We would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at the Place d'Armes on several occasions. It is in a convenient location in the French Quarter just off Jackson Square. The hotel is very quaint with a nice courtyard. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

There was a tiny bit of musty smell, and the interior room was a little small, but the hotel is beautiful. The mirrors are really awesome, I think they were actually silver backed. We were very happy with our stay.

Our room was clean and quiet (interior room) and we found that the lack of windows allowed us to sleep quite well. The mattress was covered with a flat sheet that did not reach the end of the bed, which I found a little irritating, but the room size and ammenities were good for the room rate. The location and overall place was perfect. I did book a king suite and was given a queen and told that they did not even have king beds, which turned out to be untrue. The bed was not comfortable. Still, I would go again. Rates were reasonable.

I'd been looking forward to staying at the Place D'Armes - we try to get to New Orleans every year or two and this was one hotel we hadn't tried yet. After finally staying here, we were disappointed. Like many reviews said, it's run-down. I'm used to that, to a degree, in the French Quarter, but this was more like just laziness and neglect. Shampoo […] but no conditioner, one package of coffee, no fridge, broken sink (although it was promptly fixed). The breakfast, like other reviews have said, was one type of pastry, one type of muffin, and some fruit. One of the staff we talked with was helpful and nice - the others seemed to want to be anywhere else but there. Also, I hadn't come across this before, but make sure to ask for a room NOT on the first floor. It felt like we had an interior room as we could never open the curtains because we were right there on Chartres Street a foot away from people walking by day and night. And although I didn't think it would matter too much, it really is important to have a fridge in the room! All that great New Orleans food to bring back with you and nowhere to keep it. Not good. I will say that the location is fantastic and so close to everything. The staff is friendly and helpful. But the room was a huge disappointment. The carpet had noticeable stains, they are very small, and my husband […] killed a cockroach hanging out by the chair. The room was beastly hot the entire time despite our cranking the air up. (By the way, we were there in November. I was much more comfortable outside than in our room.) In addition, the shower did not drain properly, so you had to stand in your dirty water. Wow! I could not believe the accommodations. It was booked near midnight the day I was set to arrive. The room had a walk out balcony overlooking a courtyard and pool. Comfortable beds, responsive staff, free breakfast, free Internet, great price, and at Jackson Square in the French Quarters within a walking distance to Bourbon St. I loved it!

We enjoyed our stay at Place de Arms. The room was clean, roomy and well located. Like a lot of places in the FQ, the decorations/beds are older, but they worked just fine. I would have given this hotel all 5s except that the bed was too firm for my taste. My husband, on the other hand, loved it. It became our oasis in the midst of the French Quarter. No matter what time of day, no matter what was going on outside on the street, once we passed through the lobby and into the courtyard, it all just disappeared. We sat in cool, peaceful, beautiful surroundings and dangled our feet in the pool while we sipped drinks and visited with new friends. It was very nice, sigh... The staff were very helpful. Every time we needed them they responded promptly and solved our issues to our satisfaction each time. The first room they gave us had a small bed. We complained and they moved us to a king sized right away. I booked a king thru Expedia anyway. They were helpful at all hours and no matter what we requested. It is an older hotel, and you get what comes with that. The rooms are small, televisions are far from new, the doors to the bathrooms are slatted, and the beds feel well used. Not the cleanest place, it looked like it could use a good rehab, but all I cared about was a good nights sleep for one night.
