With its mix of sacred and profane, the French Quarter defines laissez-faire. This 85-block area is home to Bourbon Street’s rowdy bars, as well as Royal Street’s upmarket antiques. The devil’s music—in the form of New Orleans jazz—thrives at Preservation Hall. Nearby, hymns accompany Mass at St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. A block away, French Market vendors hawk foods and souvenirs.see all hotels in New Orleans

"Great Location adjacent to Bourbon St."
Easy walking distance to entertainment, sites, food, but not in the middle of the action which was nice when the day was done.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent location close to Bourbon but not too"
Very nice hotel, The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel is a little noisy because of the courtyard and the brick floors outside the rooms. The pillows were hard, but all in all the hotel is very nice..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We love the location and the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast service and staff outstanding! Don't know the age of our bed mattress but it was uncomfortable -worn in the center. Despite the mattress, "we'll be back."Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location BUT"
The staff in the restaurants was fantastic. Breakfast was OK. The front desk staff was hit or miss. Night staff was much friendlier than the morning staff. The location is excellent. The CONS: unless you get a room that is not near the courtyard you will NOT get ANY sleep!!! The noise from the courtyard in the mornings can easily be cured with some […] earplugs BUT the noise from the housekeeping staff is OUT OF CONTROL! Each morning I was awoken by the housekeepers not just speaking loudly but screaming. I have never stayed in a hotel where this happened. I have traveled the world including third world countries and I have NEVER experienced this. It is completely ridiculous. Especially when you consider that people who come to NOLA often stay out very late. I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel!!! By the way the bathroom mirror and baseboard had spots on it which is gross and when I was looking for my other shoe under the bed I was very Unpleasantly surprised a the filth. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Would definitely stay there again"
Service was great. Room was great. Location was great. Some of the common areas were just so-so...could use a little sprucing up. Overall, i really liked the hotel and would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to everything."
I stayed there last year and had such a wonderful time that I booked it again this year. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was awesome. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend staying here to everyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"EXCELLENT kept hotel with INCREDIBLE staff"
This hotel was extremely nice with a staff of nice and efficient employees. From the moment we arrived and met Larry (who is awesome, by the way) at the front desk everything was perfect. Valet took our car and parked it and made us feel ver comfortable that everything would be fine. When we opened the door to our hotel room we knew it was going to […] be a perfect stay, which it was!! The motel is less than 1/2 a block from Bourbon street but, it was very quiet. The free breakfast was more than adequate and had plenty to choose from. Anything we needed we just asked at the front desk and they were more than willing to help. Help was available all the way up to the last interaction as we left with the valet who asked us if we needed directions to get out of the city. He gave us wonderful , easy, and quickest directions to leave the busy city. This hotel will be my only stay if ever back in NOLA!!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
hotel Mazarin is as close to Bourbon Street as you can get without actually being on it. It was so convenient for all activities that we booked during our stay. As expected, being close to the action makes the evenings a bit noisier but that is a decision you need to make - location or privacy. The rooms were very nice but I found the bed quite uncomfortable […] for some reason and I am normally a very good sleeper. Better pillows probably would have helped. Breakfast in the courtyard was another highlight. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel off Bourbon St"
The front desk was extremely helpful. There is a complimentary breakfast everyday which was very good! The hotel has a beautiful courtyard with a fountain that runs 24/7 so if you are a light sleeper it could be an issue. My only compliant is the bed, it wasn't comfortable at all.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Intimate hotel located in the French Quarters"
Enjoyed the hotel its location is great but also a curse being conveniently located in the French Quarters close to several attractions but also close to Bourbon St. which is entertaining but stinks awfully. The front desk wasn't very helpful at times which was very annoying, but the breakfast was awesome and the breakfast crew was incredible. They […] made the stay that much more pleasurable. Really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Mazarin. Best Staff I have ever experienced at any Hotel/ anywhere. They were extremly helpful in every aspect. The Mazarin Hotel was very nice and very clean. Breakfast was excellent and it was very nice to sit in the courtyard and eat. It was a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights but then it is only a 1/2 […] block off Bourban St.I can highly recomend this Hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Truly amazing......I'm in love"
Number 1 and I see why.......don't change a thing....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very enjoyable, convenient, breakfast was a bonus. Comfortable bed, big shower, large flat screen TV. Only down side was expensive valet parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Hotel Mazarin. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I especially liked one of the "butlers" in the courtyard who assisted during the complimentary breakfast, which was a huge plus. He was quick to set up the table for me and open the door for me as needed. The location of the Hotel was spot on, […] although it did get a little loud at night. I would recommend ear plugs so that it wouldn't be an issue. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone interested in staying in the French Quarter. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fabulous location, great service!"
Hubby and I stayed here for a week for our anniversary and found it exceed our expectations on every level...spotlessly clean and comfy accommodations. That said, let me tell you about the complimentary breakfast...oh, my was it wonderful! A grand buffet of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cereal, yogurt, grits, toast, muffins, croissants and pastries […] (the chocolate drizzled ones were divine!) and the freshest possible fruit and juices. The lady who oversees the buffet operations was so completely friendly and professional (we enjoyed listening to her direct the staff, telling them that every detail was very important!), and she let us know that if we wanted made-to order eggs or omelets, or pancakes, all we had to do was ask one of the staff. Those pancakes, btw, almost floated off the plate they were so light and fluffy! The toiletries provided were fine quality, and service was superb! James at the front desk was greatl, and one more thing that I really appreciated, they didn't charge extra for the water bottles in the room...you really need them when walking around outside in August. Located one block off Bourbon St, and close to everything you come to NOLA for! Fabulous food nearby, Emeril's NOLA, Tony Moran's Italian next door, and my favorite: Get a muffaletta and a bloody mary at Gazebo Cafe on Decatur, and listen to live blues. Hop on the street car a couple blocks away and see the art and history museums...worth the trip. Just $3 for an all day ride pass! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Love this Hotel"
I confess I booked this hotel for our first stay in New Orleans because of its rates, as well as its proximity to Bourbon St. I didn't care much about other amenities. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a delightful room, comfortable bed, great TV and beautiful Bath, along with all the extras like an iron and free bottled water in the refrigerator. […] I actually hesitate to post this review because I'm afraid the rates will go up as a result, and I intend to stay there next summer! It's perfectly located for what we like to do. The staff was great. At around 9 or 10 pm my 19 year old daughter went to the front desk and asked if there was a snack machine. They did not have one, but the staff told her there was a Walgreens a few blocks over and he offered to ESCORT HER! If you know what the French Quarter is especially at night... Hats off to that young man! Breakfast was wonderful […] and surprisingly served until 11 AM. You can request made to order eggs from the ladies in the dining room. Valet parking is a nightmare. On arrival I wasn't sure where to leave my car and no one was outside. It took about 35-40 minutes to get the next AM. One other complaint was that they had a tacky tarp up to cover the courtyard. I thought they were doing construction or something. When I opened my room door that's all I could see. I found out later it was for shade and to keep the birds out of the trees in the courtyard, but it really dampened the environment and enjoyment of the hotel for anyone 3rd floor and up. Request a 2nd floor room if available. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, Friendly staff, Clean!"
Hotel Mazarin is a good choice if you want to be close to the action in downtown New Orleans. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was exceedingly helpful. You are about 1 block or less from being right in the middle of Bourbon Street, so this can get a little rowdy, but maybe that's what you're looking for. Breakfast […] is kind of standard, nothing to write home about, but sufficient. Be prepared for a difficult drive to/from the hotel, as there could be huge amounts of people that don't care about being in the middle of the street, and parking is going to cost you (no parking at the hotel unless you get a valet). There were public parking lots around the area, but I wasn't able to find one within walking distance with luggage that was any cheaper than the hotel's valet service. "The Best Of The Best"
The Hotel was great. Upon arriving I was greeted at the street by the Hotels friendly staff. They unloaded my bags from my vehicle, Vale took my vehicle while I was checking in and when I got to my room after checking in my bags where there waiting. The Hotel is GEORGOUS. If you are looking for that southern hospitality and that old New Orleans feel. […] This is the hotel for you. All of the accommodations where top of the line and very luxurious. "Wonderful hotel with great breakfast bar"
We could not have been happier in the French Quarter than at Hotel Mazarin. I used to live in New Orleans, so I am familiar with the area. I looked hard on the internet and could not find a better location with better reviews for its continental breakfast. The reviews did not lie. We never even used our car. Everything we wanted to do was within walking […] distance or a streetcar ride. The rooms are luxurious and the staff friendly and helpful. We loved the courtyard and the breakfast buffet. You could hardly call it "continental." It had everything from eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereal-and it was all delicious. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location but terrible hotel staff service"
The location was ideal in the French Quarter but our interactions with the hotel staff was less than great. When asked for a roll-away bed, the front desk gave us a lot of attitude, even though we requested it through Expedia and were charged triple occupancy for the reservation. Once we convinced the staff to bring a roll-away bed, housekeeping simply […] knocked on the door and literally dumped the bed in the doorway and walked away. We had to call housekeeping again to bring linens, and when they did, they just dropped it on the bed and tried to leave without making it up. When asked for an extra pillow, the housekeeping staff actually rolled her eyes, argued, and finally gave in and came back with an extra pillow for the cot. In addition, the room was made up for guests that were not actually staying in that particular room (as seen by the card from the manager tailored to those guests---not with our party---and it was clearly a mistake). Overall we never truly felt welcomed in the hotel, which is a shame because the valet and bellman were so polite and courteous, and the hotel itself is beautiful and wonderfully located in the city. The attitude and lack of professionalism of the front desk and housekeeping, however, left a damper on the stay which would lead me not to recommend the hotel to my friends. A note to Mazarin: do your job and always be courteous and professional with your guests in every aspect---you made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in your establishment. "New Favorite hotel in French Quarter!"
I selected this hotel because I wanted a different experience compared to the smaller rooms I had previously in the FQ. Boy, am I glad I did. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very happy with our stay at this hotel. Near to Bourbon St but quiet location. On arrival we were allocated a room which was on the small side and with a small window which made the room quite dark. However on speaking to the reception we were reallocated a lovely bright room overlooking the interior court yard. A very pleasant stay. The location is great! Close to main attractions- Jackson Square, bourbon street, canal street, aquarium, etc. Room was clean and comfortable. "Nice hotel in central location"
We stayed two nights at the Hotel Mazarin. We had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bad room location"
Please ask for a room AWAY from the street. Our room was over the bar area and very noisy. I asked for a quiet room and got the noisiest room in the hotel, which they claimed was an upgrade! other than the lack of sleep the hotel was real nice. Great free breakfast too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall was good"
Our time at the Mazarin was good, the hotel was clean and as their website discribed. The hotel is only a short walk to all the action and excitement on Bourbon St. My only complaint from my stay was being woken by the cleaning staff every morning as they walk up and down the hallways yelling and screaming about their day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice quiet hotel just steps from Bourbon Street"
Great stay, next time more then 1 night required!! Front door valet, personal friendly staff - amazing clean, upscale rooms that are quiet being so close to Bourbon Street. Free breakfast is simple but just what you need to get your day started.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Bourbon St, but not too close"
We booked this hotel not realizing it was just half a block from Bourbon St. Despite the proximity, our room was insulated from any street noise and quiet for sleeping. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and the room was well appointed. There is no pool on site, but the Mazarin has three sister hotels nearby, which each […] have a pool that can be used. The courtyard is a great place to eat breakfast, or have a drink from the on-site bar. In addition to Bourbon St, all of the French Quarter is within walking distance. "Nice, Quiet, & Close To Everything!"
We had the most amazing time! This hotel was perfect. Our room faced towards a courtyard & we didn't hear any of the Bourbon street noise. It was so convienant because it was 2 steps from Bourbon. The room was a nice size and we had plenty of room. The staff was so helpful in aiding us in planning a tour and giving us different restaurant recommendations […] & things to do. The staff was also super helpful in helping me with me lost iPad which was found! The breakfast was very good & we really liked Tericka.
