"What's up with pictures"
The service at the hotel was pretty good. However, we were very dissatisfied with the condition of our room. The pictures on the website were not at all accurate to what the room really had to offer. The Hotel states that there is plenty of parking available, well at $30 per day to park your car I guess that there is plenty of parking. Can you say misleading! The hotel valet parking sucks. It took them 30mins. just to park my husbands truck and 45mins. to bring it back. We could not call ahead to tell them downstairs that we needed the truck because the phone in the room didn't work. The wires were hanging out of the receiver. "Liars"
We checked around 4:30 and turned the air on -- when we got back at 10:30 pm the room was still hot, it was 75 degrees. We called the front desk who said they would send someone up to check it--they never sent anyone. We called again at 11 pm and the front desk clerk came up, pressed a button, and said to give it 30 minutes. It never cooled down and […] was 75 degrees all night. Absolutely the worst night ever spent in a hotel. When we checked out I complained to the front desk (the same guy from the night before and a woman were both at the desk). I told them that I was very unhappy -- their response was "Oh, sorry". So, I called Hotels.com to try to get a credit. They called the hotel and someone told them that we had never complained!! So, basically the hotel is subpar, and the staff lies. Aside from that, the carpets were filthy--I didn't even want to walk barefoot on them. The lock on the bathroom door was broken as well. "The Pelham highly not recomended"
Well first of all it was so hard to find this hotel. When we got there the lobby was very small, the pictures made this place look completely diffferent than the real place. Well when we finally got in our room our door opened up to the lobby so you could here every little whisper, than the bed had to of been at least 50 yrs old and was on a slope hat […] made the blood rush to your head. Than they gave us a room with no bathtub. Well we went to eat than came back to the room to get cleaned up the shower only had cold water and there is no maintanance man on site. So the next morning the manger said she knew about the shower acting up. But on the plus side they let me cancel the rest of my reservation. But on the plus side the management was very nice. We go to New Orleans about once a month. We booked this hotel because we wanted to dine at the Cufe which had excellent reviews. This was absolutely a mistake. When we walked in to the tiny lobby the first thing we noticed was the floors were dull and dirty. The girl at the front desk did not speak good english and was hard to understand. The room […] was ok but had no windows. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The ice machine was on the ground floor. the coffee machine only made one cup of coffee and there was only one cup. The Cufe restaurant had gone out of business and there was not another restaurant close. Then when we checked out they tried to chage us $ 4.95 for phone which we had only used to call the front desk. Also, $ 2.95 for a safe which we did not use. The Pelham was qaint and simple hotel for a reasonbly moderate price. There were some areas that could be improved. For example: no ice in the ice machine. "Nice Location-Not clean and comfortable"
