I love old buildings/hotels and this one will not disappoint. Great location and an easy walk down the street to Jackson Square. The staff has always been friendly and my preschooler loved the cookies and lemonade they kept well stocked in the lobby area.

Fantastic location and fantastic staff. The hotel is absolutely beautiful in the perfect part of town. Not too far from Bourbon street, but far enough where you do not hear the all night partying.

Great location, close to attractions and public transportation. The rooms were very nice. A little old, but clean and well decorated. The front desk staff was just great. Onsite parking was cheaper than a parking garage. Nicely arrayed free breakfast with lots of choices, cereals, yogurt, breads, fruit, etc. Wonderful wait staff. The downside was that […] the bell captain and staff weren't too sure about current events in New Orleans, in particular a disruption in the streetcar service, which we figured out on our own. The bar is not open every night, but they make up for it by the cost of the drinks. $$$. Room rates were moderate for New Orleans. We would definitely stay here again. Read more

Great location, wonderful staff. We were traveling with 3 children under 5, the staff were so very helpful. Only negative is the pool was sooo cold. But everything else was perfect.

We stayed for a surprise overnight visit on our way back to Chicago from Texas. This was our first stay at the Bienville, and we were very pleased with our choice! This was one of the largest rooms we've stayed in, in the French Quarter, The room was immaculate. The staff was helpful, friendly and efficient, and the bell desk/valet service was excellent. […] Also, the location of the hotel, right on Decatur, was perfect for us--we were able to visit Jackson Square, the French Market & lower Decatur without having to deal with the crowds on Bourbon St. The only drawback was a somewhat outdated bathroom, but that's a minor issue. Hotel and its location was excellent. Very near Bourbon Street and a number of excellent restaurants. Rooms are fairly small but clean and adequate. Bed was good. Would definitely stay there again.

The desk worker Cynthia was excellent. Expedia only sent over the request for a room but did not mention that we needed a handicapped accessible room. A gracious experience. The hotel is close to the French Quarter but not in the heart/noise of it, so it was perfect for our family with children. The pool is more for lounging than swimming and it is very relaxing. The room had amenities of luxury hotels.

My fiance and I recently stayed the weekend at the hotel. The location was great, right in the middle of the french quarter and just a few steps away from the house of blues and riverwalk. We pulled in the garage and were immediately greeted by a valet and a bellman to help us with our luggage. The only issue we had was that the room windows don't open - so when the heat was on (due to a HVAC issue)....there was no way to get relief!! What a lovely hotel. We had just finished our cruise and arrived at hotel at 9:00 AM fully expecting to just check our bags. Surprisingly, our room was ready and Beverly let us go right to our room. The room itself was charming with a 4 poster bed which was quite comfortable. Walking distance to French Market, Bourbon St. Would highly recommend.

The hotel was very nice and the employees were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean. My only complaint was that our room did not have a window. I'm not sure if any of the rooms have windows, but I'm going to request it the next time we go. Other than that, great hotel, great location!

This is a great place to stay. Beautiful lobby, friendly staff and a very well appointed room with a chandlier over the 4 poster king size bed. So conveniently located 3 blocks from Bourbon Street and a similar distance to all the other places you want to see. 1.5 blocks from K-Paul's (a fabulous restaurant). The Bienville House has become one of our go-to NOLA hotels. We spend weekends in the quarter regularly, and have narrowed our favorites down to just a few hotels. It is small, very nice, reasonably priced and the location can't be beat. As with any hotel in the quarter, you hear every noise on the street at every hour of the day, but it is a couple […] of blocks off of Bourbon, so there is some buffer. It is a sister hotel to the Monteleone, but the prices are better. Don't expect the Ritz, and you won't be disappointed. We even got a nice balcony on our last visit! Great for breakfast in the morning! They have a nice, chic pool, a small, but authentic bar, and serve cookies in the lobby. If you want a one or two night stay in the quarter with your significant other, that won't break the bank, this is a great choice. (But do go have a drink at the Monteleone bar, while you're there). I am a recent college graduate and wanted to have one last hurrah with my best girlfriends this past spring before we all went our separate ways. Bienville House was absolutely PERFECT for our girl's trip! Born and raised in Texas, I visit New Orleans just about every year since I have a lot of family in Louisiana. Because of this, I was put in charge […] of coordinating a trip to NOLA for 8 college women with tight budgets. I normally stay at Hotel Monteleone, but this was out of our price range. After a little research, I happened upon Bienville House which is managed by the same company that manages Hotel Monteleone. Our stay was booked within the hour. Bienville House captures the look and feel of the French Quarter and is located right off of Decatur Street. It put us only a few blocks away from Bourbon Street, Harrah's, the Riverwalk, Jackson Square, and Cafe Du Monde. Additionally, Bienville house has its own restaurant/bar, events for its guests, and a praline shop in its building. However, it was the staff at Bienville House that truly made our stay amazing. The moment we drove into the parking garage, we were attended to. The valets were quick to help us with our bags and each night, they pointed us in the direction of the nearby college hang outs. Beverly, at the front desk, welcomed us with a big smile and checked in with us at least once a day to make sure we were having a fabulous girls' trip. And a fabulous girls' trip we had. Each young woman in the group walked away with nothing but great memories and rave reviews about the French Quarter, especially Bienville House. I honestly could not have asked for a better trip, I hope to have many more girls' trips with this group in the years to come.
