Royal Sonesta Hotel

Hotel is right on Bourbon Street, which can get crazy, loud and smelly depending upon the night. Fortunately, the hotel and rooms were quiet. Unfortunately, however, our room stunk of cigarette smoke. The rooms are pretty small but sufficient for two people. Elevators are SLOW! The Bell Staff are friendly and accommodating. Royal Sonesta has a great location on the 3rd block of Bourbon St.In the heart of it all.The staff was great as was the entire hotel.Safe parking in the hotel property.Desire resturant has some of the best food in the quarter.We have been to this property probley a dozen times and will stay no where else.See ya next time!

A little expensive since there are so many nice hotels to chose from. Very small room over looking a very pretty coourtyard with a pool. Quiet, clean. No coffee pot in room, asked for one -never came. Good location to everything in the French Quarter. Hotel resturant good and not overly expensive for a hotel resturant.

This hotel is really nice, it's right in the heart of things when you step out of the front door, but once you are in the hotel, you feel like you are somewhere else..the lobby is very elegant and relaxing, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean, and quiet. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

found this hotel on hotels. com for very reasonable price. i felt like i got a bargain. hotel was beautiful, staff was excellent. hotel is located right on bourbon. if you get a chance to stay here i highly recommend it. parking is underneath the hotel and is 36 dollars a night. that is my only complaint!

My stay at the Royal Sonesta was very satisfying. Right in the heart of the French Quarter, the hotels location on Bourbon Street offers quick and easy access to the festivities New Orleans has to offer. The valet service was a breeze, quick and friendly. The room was very clean and also very quiet.

The Royal Sonesta staff was extremely friendly and very helpfull. The Concierge helped arrange tours and reservations. The Doormen were extremely helpfull and offered advice on where to eat. My husband and I really enjoyed the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans. Malcolm was the best and friendliest doorman. He remembers who you are and gives you great advice. The hotel is in the Quarter which makes it great. Hotel pool and other service is worth the stay.

The Royal Sonesta is extremely well located, all the atttractions of New Orleans are at a walking distance. Even though it is located at Bourboun St. , inside the hotel you have a very peaceful atmosphere. You will not listen to noise of the street. This was a great hotel in the heart of the French Quarter New Orleans. The room was nice but small and the dormer had no view but was a great place for the roll out bed we needed. The space was well utilized though and if I had to do it again I would ask for a room with a veranda or balcony. I would definitely stay here again.

We are Houma Louisiana locals and had family coming to town to stay. We thought staying in New Orleans might be nice and booked a room at the Sonesta for it's location and usually decent rooms; However, my experience was far less than satisfactory. 1st.... the hotel staff from the front desk to the valet seemed far less than interested in having our […] business.... and so much as said so to others. In the current economy most do not have the luxury of travel... not to mention it is the slow time in New Orleans due to heat.... and all we heard was how horrible it was that they (your staff) were busy? How bad it was they had to actually work! As a business owner I would not be happy to hear my employees were upset to be busy! Do they really think they are to be paid for nothing? 2ndly, the front desk only answered once when called from the room out of 8 separate instances. The valet service was grossly under staffed... or so it appeared as we were constantly looking for them in order to get our car! On one return trip we dropped off the car... and they did not give us a tag... i asked... and they told me my name and room number would be sufficient... upon our departure... the valet was visually aggravated that I didn't have a ticket and that he had to take an apparent extra step to locate the keys and vehicle... even though it was he who told me I did not require a tag... All in all... this was my 3rd stay at your hotel... but I promise it will most certainly be my last!!!!! To those thinking of staying here... do yourself a favor and find other hotels... there are many to chose and the staff here is anything but friendly or helpful... This hotel had it's time... but apparently the luster has dulled... and it's just another old dump with bad service to add insult to injury. Read more

....no coffee maker in the room! Just about every hotel/room these days has a coffee maker. This hotel, being what I would consider as quite high-class and offering just about every convenience a hotel should, doesn't have a coffee maker in the room. May not seem like a big deal to some, but try and get a cup of coffee on Bourbon Street in the evening […] to take back to your room. What a fabulous hotel! We really couldn't fault it. Our room was lovely, very comfortable, overlooking the courtyard and quiet. The Desire Oyster Bar and Jazz bar were both exceptional, We were visiting New Orleans for the first time and for Mardi Gras. Hotellet ligger meget sentralt plassert, dersom du vil bo nært French Quarter, uten at dette går ut over komforten på hotellet med tanke på ro på rommene etc. Anbefales!

Hyggelig betjening, god service, flott rom, rent. Fantastisk opphold under deler av Mardi Gras, vi fikk rom ut mot Bourbon, så litt støy, men helt ok, da dette ble en opplevelse for livet. Kan absolutt anbefale dette hotellet. Sentralt beliggenhet. Gode parkeringsmuligheter. Vi gir 6 stjerner!
