"Great location, friendly staff"
The hotel itself is older but they keep it clean. The indoor pool was great and all the staff was friendly. The location was perfect with a Walgreens a block away and several restaurants within walking distance. "Staff was great, but room was lacking"
I found the hotel staff to be courteous and accommodating, but the room needed repairs/updates. The toilet paper holder was loose from the wall (kind of dangling from the sheetrock) and there was no vent of any kind in the bathroom. "Heated Pool - NOT"
The location is great. Walking distance to Bourbon street, the Mississippi river, french quarter... Hotel was okay. Our sink had black stuff under the edge and the bathtub/shower mechanism was broken and laying on the side of the tub with a big hole open where it should have been. "The one reason I stayed...total let down"
The one reason I chose this hotel was because it had a heated swimming pool. The children were so excited!!! Turns out the pool heater had been broken for months and was probably not gonna be repaired for awhile. My poor girls tried to swim in the indoor pool anyway but it was just tooooo cold. "Horrible Holiday Inn French Quarter"
My husband and I were extremely disappointed in the hotel!!! We usually stay a few blocks down at another Holiday Inn that we love but decided to try this one because of the location to the French Quarter, I have to say that the location is the ONLY thing good about this hotel! We were surprised to find out that we would be charged additional parking […] fees on top of the nightly room charged. The gargage was unsecured and we had to clean up one morning when we came down to find that someone had had a party on our tailgate and left there trash in and around our truck when they were done! The front desk personel were robotic unfriendly and noninformative. We booked a smoking room only to find out that the entire property is non-smoking except for a small unsafe corner of the 7th floor of the garage where the thugs hang out. In the room there is no microwave or refrigerator and no balcony. There is a seperate living room with a foldout bed but no TV in that room and the TV in the bedroom looked like something purchased at a garage sale in the 9th ward! I had to clean fecal matter off the light fixture in the bathroom 1st thing when we arrived. Our neighbors ordered room service the first night we were there and there tray of leftovers was still in the hallway when we left. The batteries went out in the remote control and I took the time to go down to the lobby to get them the clerk assured me he would send someone up with the new batteries as of check out we never received them! The elevators were scary and dirty and there were to few of them, we opted for the stairs several times as the wait was so long even though we were on the 15th floor. The mexican rest. next door is the hotels food source and their service leaves much to be desired. Close to everything. Was very inexpensive too over week between Christmas and New years! Just so you know they charge $26.00 a day to park your car but it's in an attached garage. Wanted a family hotel with an indoor pool and breakfast so the kids would eat in the mornings. The pool was out of order, the parking was extra, the breakfast was extra. The hotel is obviously aging. Location was great. Elevator was slow. Room was too small for the roll away bed so we slept one person on the floor. We had 5 people plus luggage. Closet was too small to place a suitcase. Extremely satisfied with the service. We purchased two rooms with, what was advertised as a free breakfast, from your web site, for a specific amount extra for each room. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was for the convenience to local sights. My grandchildren were with me and we visited the Aquarium and Insectarium (within close walking distance). "I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN!!!"
I will NEVER stay there again! I had called the hotel a few days before we got there and i was assured that we could check in early, when we got there we were told we couldnt check in for 3 hours,which was not good with having a 2 year old that needed a nap. The front desk staff had an attitude the whole time at check in. my mother had to pay very high […] parking fee, on top of the room fee for each room she paid for. My mother is also a diabetic and needed to store her insulin, which they charged her for a refrigerator. and the view from our window was right into room across from us which was not exactly private. I will say that there was two things we enjoyed, which were the pool and the doormen were very nice the whole time. To top it off, i got a charge on my credit card bill for charges they were not supposed to be there, which im in the process of TRYING to take care of, everytime i try to contact the accounting dept, i either get voicemail, get hung up on, or get put on hold, i still havent got to talk to someone about these charges. i have only been able to leave several messages.
