"Good Location"

"Very close to great restaurants and sights"
The room was clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The concierge came up with some great restaurant suggestions. The employees are GREAT the hotel is second rate. the room door was open when I arrived. Things promised were not there. The roll in shower was a bath tub. Several times I had to request towels room service failed to have adequate supplies.Every noise in the hallway was well heard quite well the need for better sound proofing was evident. They closed […] the pool at early. My parking key never worked. My A/C broke down during my stay ( they did replace it within 30 Minutes.) "Terrible holiday inn"
The hotel is extremely crowded (there was a 15 minute line to check in, and there were always lines for the 3 slow elevators during my stay). The rooms are also noisy, both because of outside noise and because of old, squeeky heaters that also emit a foul smell. But you can't turn these off unless you want the room temperature to drop to 55. The room […] was clean, but all other hotel amenities (e.g. computers for printing boarding passes) were extremely poorly maintained, and the internet was very slow. Our room was too smal. Odd shaped room.. Curtains did not close all the way. (I like it dark at night.) Pillows too stiff for me. "Mixed feelings"
I got stuck in a handicap accessible room. It was directly across from the elevators, that included the service elevator. Got very little sleep. In addition, staff had two-way radios that were set extremely loud. I could hear whole conversations through my door. The room also didn't have "do not disturb" door signs I could put out. On three different […] occasions I told a maid I didn't need anything and three different times her supervisor knocked on the door "just to make sure." Again, little or no sleep. The hotel was a short, very short walk to Bourbon Street and about five minutes from Jackson Square, French Market Place and the River so it was conveniently located. However, the stores and shops next to it were a little seedy. There is a restaurant located on property that gave very slow service, if any. This hotel has a great location in the French Quarter and not far from the Convention Center. It has some very kind and hard-working staff who make it a nice place, but the infrastructure is a bit old and some things could use a real TQM makeover. Our room looked like it needed remodeling. The hotel is very close to Bourbon St, the heart of NO French Quarter, and a couple blocks away from French market. The staff is very helpful when asked for a favor. "Was what I expected"
Reason for going: conference Good location for partiers--Bourbon Street one street away. Room was clean and serviceable. Faucet in bathroom did have a small drip, no matter which way I twisted the faucet, but it was a very slight drip. I forgot to let the front desk know, but I did observe maintenance staff busy in other areas of the hotel. Walls of rooms are thin, so you will hear conversations of people waiting for the elevator, especially if they are inebriated. Sometimes room was cleaned early in day, other times late in day. Wish there was a little more consistency in the time, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. Elevators slow, especially at high-activity times (aka dinner time). Not disappointing. Still, not impressive either. Above all, I couldn't use the internet connection in my hotel room. I asked them to fix it several times in vain and had to find a coffee shop to read and edit a MS Word file my friend sent to me through e-mail. Fabulous location, at a price that couldn't be beat. With complementary wireless and a large comfortable room, I wish I had spent more of my visit at the Holiday Inn instead of another hotel down the street. "HORRIBLE place if you are there to work"
I was given a room facing the elevator, so i could hear the "Ding" every time it arrived, much less the loud people pouring out 24 hours a day. i requested to move (as i had to sleep- it was a business trip, not pleasure) and front desk person said "NO. this is the room you booked and i dont have another just like it open, so i can not move you."
