    This hotel was great. It was in a perfect walking location to most things we did. Also short walking distance to Bourbon Street where you will most... likely find yourself at night drunk and stumbling. I was told someone at the hotel got me to my room safely one night because I was falling over. The staff was amazing. The rooms were really nice, but the double beds were pretty small.     Overview

    Location.
    Located in the French Quarter, this New Orleans hotel rises high over Bourbon Street. Aquarium of the Americas is 2 blocks from the Marriott New Orleans, and the boutiques and restaurants of Riverwalk Marketplace are 4 blocks away.

    Hotel Features.
    Marriott New Orleans has a smoke-free policy. Two outdoor pools (one for children) are located between the hotel's two towers. A 24-hour fitness center boasts views of the Mississippi River Bridge. The Marriott's restaurant showcases New Orleans cuisine, including Cajun and Creole fare. A Starbucks is located in the lobby. The 55 Fahrenheit Wine Bar and Lounge offers more than 200 wines, along with classic cocktails and a bar menu. The hotel also features 80,000 square feet (7,432 square meters) of meeting and banquet space.

    Guestrooms.
    The 1,329 guestrooms are located in two high-rise buildings. All rooms feature Marriott's signature Revive bedding, including pillowtop mattresses, down duvets, plentiful pillows, and 300-thread-count linens.     Right on Canal Street, the Marriott is close to everything. After a 15 minute walk, we were in the heart of the French Quarter. It took 10 minutes by foot to get to the World War II Museum. The room is comfortable and the hotel staff is friendly and quick to respond to requests. I did not like the modern elevator system where you had to input your floor […] number, and if 5-6 floors are pressed in the lobby, you could end up in an elevator with 15 people and their luggage or have to wait longer for another elevator.     I went here during Mardi Gras and I was worried everything was going to be hectic and that there was going to be a huge line checking in. It was wonderful and everything was well-managed. It was also in a prime location and I could watch the parades from my window.

    I was offered the opportunity to upgrade to a River view room. I'm very happy that I did this. We were there on Christmas and there was tornado watch that evening. The tornado missed New Orleans but we had a beautiful light show from the storm.

    Location was fantastic- right on the edge of the French Quarter, and a short walk to the Superdome. Facilities were excellent and all the staff were very courteous. The only caveat if you are coming to NO is timing. We stayed here the weekend of the Bayou Classic (Southern vs. Grambling). The Saturday following the game on Bourbon street was an absolute […] zoo. Not just crowded, but LOTS of very "thuggy" looking young men. A local explained that the gang bangers from the surrounding projects mixes in with the tourists.     Great location if one wants to explore the French Quarter and walk around the downtown area. Driving a car was a nightmare. The NOPD forced vehicles on a certain route which added about 50 minutes to travel only 3 blocks. If you travel with a car then probably a hotel closer to the superdome would be a better choice.

    Staff very friendly. Great atmosphere! Rooms were clean. And staff very helpful. During my visit the city of NO announced that there was a problem with the water and released a do not use notice. The hotel responded by providing bottled water and allowing guests to use the bottles for sale in the rooms. Location?
