"Very comfortable and clean."
I selected this hotel for it's indoor pool. I like to stay fit while traveling and do my water aerobics however the temperature of the pool made it impossible. The water temp was in the low 70's and I was unable to tolerate it. I was very upset and disappointed. The vending machine with two water selections was empty and the restaurant had a very good […] but very limited menu. We also wanted a specialty drink at the bar and the bartender could not make it as she was a waitress in the restaurant and had no bar experience. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. There were stains on the bedspread, and the carpets; the pillows smelt dirty, and I felt itchy all night. Also the breakfast was below par. "It worked"
I used to live in the area so I know Bushnell's Basin is a safe and convenient....and remember when the Brookwood was built. The room was very clean however it is in need of an update. On our trip to Rochester, we stayed in 2 other hotels on our way to the Brookwood Inn. This was the most expensive of the 3 hotels and offered the least. "Nice hotel, but getting a bit dated"
The room was comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly. The room decor is a bit dated, but very servicable. For any runners or bicyclists, the hotel is only two blocks from a path along the canal and it runs for miles in either direction. It is overall a pleasant place, but one fatal flaw exists. At least in our room, the wall adjoining had very little if any sound insulation, so that we readily heard just about everything going on there. We needed earplugs to make it through the night. Easy access to Route 490 makes it convenient to get to, easy to drive to places in Rochester, and then a simple exit back home. "Don't Rely on Airport Shuttle"
We booked our shuttle reservation a week prior to our visit. On the afternoon of our arrival, there was no shuttle. After many repeat calls to the hotel where they said they could not reach the shuttle driver and 1 hour later, we took a $50 cab ride to the hotel because we had an engagement to be at. We talked to guests at hotel who had a similar experience […] with the shuttle making them wait long periods of time and not being there on time. This hotel was pleasant. Our room was conforatble but the free breakfast was filled with so many breads and not enough egg items. The coffee/tea cups were so small we went to the bagel store down the street for our morning coffee/tea. The hard boiled eggs were not set on ice, so I wouldn't eat them. My husband enjoyed the Tuscan Margarita the first […] night we arrived. Be careful of closing the hotel room door while inside the room. It doesn't lock until you slam the door continuously, four times was my average. Not very welcoming for other guests I can say. There was ample parking even when we would come back to the hotel in later in the evening and there was sufficient lighting as well. The bathroom by the front desk doesn't have a/c so it is quite stuffy. The front desk empolyees were very friendly and prefossionable. I was surpirsed by the thin toilet paper & towels for the additional price you pay at the Best Western in Victor. Very close to the freeway entrance and there is a Abbott's Custard down the street. "Good hotel for the money"

The room was quite large and well-equipped, with an excellent bed, good tv, and satisfactory bathroom. The heating system was difficult to control, however. It was reasonably quiet. I was traveling for business and wanted to stay somewhere other than downtown Rochester. The hotel and restaurant staff were all pleasant. The hotel was quiet and relatively clean. The bathroom was a little small but clean and that is more important. The continental breakfast was on the 2nd floor of the lobby and no one told me that but I found it anyway. I stayed at this hotel for three nights and felt very safe. The neighborhood is great, and you can walk around by yourself. The beds are very comfortable. "Bait and Switch"
Ordianarily I would give this hotel a high rating. However, this hotel is switching people who book king size bedrooms to queen size bedrooms claiming that online bookings are not guaranteed the room they booked. This is a classic bait and switch where you think you are booking a great room at a great price only to discover that they gave your room […] to someone else because they were willling to pay a higher price. Hotels.com was terrific and they help me get a price reduction for the inconvenience.
