This seems to be the hotel where the locals stay when they go on vacation. Kahului is the commercial center of the island- not the tourist destination. It was convenient that everything is a short drive: Lahaina is ~45 min, Paia ~10, Maalaea ~10 min, but is not the nice, resort you may have in mind. Staying here is more about location. 1. They have a weird exit route to get to the street - there isnt one, you have to walk onto the driveway or break between the bushes. 2. We had a nice stay at the Maui Beach Hotel. The room was clean, and standard. It gets a little too hot on the secondary floor. The AC was noisy. Other than that, everything was great. The staff were nice and helpful. We asked for more towels, and they sent happily provided. They also have beach towels to borrow.

It was our first trip to Maui so this hotel was perfect. The internet price included an adequate breakfast (big save on $ and time) . The location was perfect for travel in every direction. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The bed was new and really comfy. The cleanliness was very good.

Chose to stay close in to Kahului for our first night since we had to pick up our friends the next morning at the airport. Maui Beach Hotel was close, easy to find. And a decent price. Our room was on the street side and there was quite a bit of road noise. Good thing we were exhausted!! Beds are doubles....not queens. since we were awake early anyways the next morning, we were able to walk over to the swap meet held close by...it was a Saturday morning. That was a great treat. We found fruit to buy for the week, some great souvenirs at a better price than at the expensive malls and visited with some of the local people. Loved that. The Maui Beach Hotel is a good spot if you need something inexpensive, close to the airport and convenient to shopping. We spent a week there and although the room was small and a little old fashioned the entire hotel was clean. There was ample free parking and a nice small pool on site. There is no wi-fi in the rooms...only in Lobby. There is however an Ethernet connection in the rooms. These are erratic and inconvenient for most. Rooms need to be properly aired to take away the musty smell. Corridors have a stench of cigarette smoke. The non smoking & smoking areas need to separated by a better distance from one another. After a long day, needed a ride from the airport and they have a shuttle (only reason i chose them) but nobody would pick up the phone when making proper selection. Called for 9 minutes straight. For the price, this is a good hotel to spend the night and dedicate rest of day for activities. The breakfast was inexpensive and comparable to the $35 breakfast we had at other more expensive Maui hotels.

Front desk personnel didn't even greet us, just put a piece of paper on the counter for us to complete and didn't say a word when we checked in. We just stay the night to sleep which was good since it's not worth the money, and the photos don't accurately reflect the hotel quality.

We had upgraded from a standard room, so it was quiet and clean. Staff was only there to "collect a paycheck" and were not really friendly. For a one night economy stay close to the airport, I would recommend it, but couldn't handle it for much more.
