Ramada Saco Old Orchard Beach Area

I had a conference in Scarborough and needed a place to stay for 1 night. The hotel was easy to locate and the staff were very friendly. The roooms though drastically need to be updated and the bed was very very firm. Ok for one night would not want to stay for an extended period of time.

I would not recommend this hotel. The entrance to the hotel is not easy to find and is cut off from the parking lot ; although there is a beautiful u-shaped driveway at the entrance, you are not able to access it. You must park and walk about a half block to the entrance and, if you have several pieces of luggage, pick up a luggage rack - if available, […] and roll through the parking lot up to the hotel. The rooms are clean, but the lobby had a very musty odor. If you want privacy in your room or need to sleep in, do not stay here as the drapes do not close. Sheers cover the windows, but the cloth draples are decorative and ony cover the side of the windows. They cannot be drawn for privacy or to keep out the early morning sun. I was not happy that we were in a handicap room and wasn't being told that. It was right outside the door of the cafe so it was very noisy early in the morning. I was not very happy with that it was suppose to be a vacation to relax and sleep in.

The hotel location was difficult to access (road to and from the interstate was confusing and cumbersome (even with the GPS). The soap tray in the bathtub was covered in mold. Hallways were dirty. Cheap rates and the hot continental breakfast was very good. Employees were friendly and beds were comfortable.

Honestly was not that crazy about this hotel the room had a very weird musky smell that did not go away,also furniture was very dingy looking,the chair in the room had black stains all over it had to cover it with a sheet as well as chair at computer desk had holes in it(rooms need new furniture)bed was ok although had a very weird rash since hotel […] stay,def was not one of the greatest places I have stayed at(well I guess you get what you pay for)also ordered food from WOK -N-Roll and the delivery man forgot my lemonade advised he would go receive another one and never came back,hotel staff advised they filed a complient but who knows,free breakfeast was ok saved us money from haveing to buy breakfeast every day.House keeping was nice as well as staff was friendly but oversll hotel need some updates in room,Def would not stay here again! I was not impressed with the location of this hotel. It is off the Maine turnpike, on its own exit. This means that if you do not know about the extra 3-4 miles to get to the other exit, you are forced to pay the toll every time you want to go into town. There is another parking lot that is around the back, but the staff didn't mention this to me until […] a couple of days into my trip. Had I not pre-booked this trip through expedia, I would have changed hotels to one that was in town and a little more accessible to restaurants, etc. I had a companion that stayed at the hotel while I was working, and the staff did not clean the rooms while this person was there. They only asked if we needed towels, and then handed them off to go take care of other rooms. I was totally pi$$ed when I heard about this not once, but several times during my stay. The fitness center is not on site...you get passes to two centers close by. Although one is within walking distance, I hope it doesn't start raining while you are there, like it did with me. The equipment did not fully work (electronics were not fully functioning), which meant I got only a partial workout. The pool is outside, so it is only usable during the warmer parts of the year.
