The manager was friendly and helpful. The room was advertised as having a kitchen..no kitchen. Unsafe as the front door had daylight and a big gap. paint peeling... very noisy.. the guy next door was snooring and it felt like he was in my room! "Visit my son who is at Stanford University"
I do not recommend staying here. It was not clean at checkin and we bought cleaning supplies ourself to clean as there was still urine in the toilet and coffee in the coffee pot. I would never stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cozy and Quaint, a little lumpy and not too quiet."
I loved the location and the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I loved the size of the room perfect for families and those visiting for long periods would enjoy the studio apartment type layout. I had requested a quiet room which was off the main street (El Camino) however the constant slamming of door next to mine and the loud noise from […] the upstairs room required me to wear ear plugs. The shower was a little funky and smelled mildewing and it dripped non stop. Fortunately the door closed and blocked it out. The negatives would be bed was well worn and bit lumpy, sheets had what appeared to be metal dryer streaks on them and most importantly, the front door was flimsy, had a simple bedroom door lock and the chain was broken. OTHERWISE, a decent hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cold and loud"
Froze my butt off overnight in room 16. It was also very loud, facing the street. Very poor sleep as a result. I'd stayed here before and had a room on the side street, and apparently at a warmer time of year. I thought it was a great deal then, but have to change my mind about it now.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't bother"
It is unfortunate that you can't give them a 0 in the rating. There is simply nothing good to say about this place. Motel6 is a much better choice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"okay if you must stay close to Stanford area..."
I thought that motel could do for a few updates. the kitchen was in disappointing shape. (sink was very rusted). the refrigerator was a nice size, but still had left over baloney and cheese from who knows how long ago. I also think that the security could be a little improved. I know that the neighborhood is safe, but a simple deadbolt would make me […] feel much more comfortable staying there as a single female. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"EXTREMELY TERRIBLE"
This is a terrible place I've ever stayed in my life. The overall quality only deserves 1/10 of the price. - The door key is extremely easy for picking, thus I was afraid of safety all night and couldn't sleep well. - NO lobby and services are extremely bad. I can say there is ZERO service mind in this scary place. When I want to check out in the […] morning, and tried to ask help for getting a taxi, NO ONE was there, with only a paper "will be back shortly". When I asked to put my luggage until my departure which every hotel does, the person in the office told me that they would put my luggage in OUTSIDE. The day was expecting raining, and my luggage included computer, can you imagine a hotel you stay will put your luggage OUTSIDE? - Windows are broken, but with a paper on the broken window. - heater didn't work - wifi didnt work - EXTREMELY noisy ALL night because of passing car right before your window. You can NEVER sleep in such a noisy place. You feel like you're sleeping ON THE HUGE CAR STREET. Overall, THIS IS NOT A HOTEL. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointed"
Great customer service at the front desk. However, dirty towels from the previous guest were left in the bathtub. Room was not soundproof so heard everything from upstairs neighbor who decided to do a raindance beginning at 6am in the morning. Room was large, but not enough electrical outlets, and curtains need to be replaced (they were literally […] falling off the window). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very close the Stanford University"
I was very dissappointed with my stay. The room had stained chairs. The kichenette was not stock with dishes, glasses or any of the things needed to use it. The main reason for picking this location was the location to Stanford and kichenette. Pay for you get!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst hotel experience"
The owners couldn't let me leave my luggage there because 'people wouldn't be there during the day' My room was literally shaking from 2-4:30 am because of road work, but there was no one to talk to to change rooms The room was freezing The front desk was incredibly unhelpful with asking for directions to the nearby medical center Would never stay […] here again. "A Disappointment"
The traffic noise from the street was very loud. (as was the train). The hotel was smaller than we thought - only about 5 parking spaces. Had to find parking on the street. The room was very spacious - it's cleanliness was questionable (stained carpet). The room was darkish and the TV didn't work. We found a fuse box in the closet and screwed in the […] fuses. No drinking cups or coffee cups. The room seemed well used and aged. Towels were very old and well used. Did not feel like spending any time there. Slept and left first thing in the morning. "You get what you pay for. which is not much."
The condition of this hotel was appropriate for the price that was paid. The owners running the place and living there were nice enough but you can hear their activities (and children crying) through the paper thin walls. There is little insulation in the place and the unit heater does little to help. The excessive mold in the bathroom is a huge issue. […] It seems more like a run down apartment than a motel and I would not recommend staying here unless the price is too good to pass up. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quant place to stay in a large comfy room"
Great place to stay, has a B&B feel and is very comfortable. One note, if you're getting in late at night, there may be no one at the check in so your keys will be left in an envelope on the desk of a check in office. Not a worry, but just something to know as a heads up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome hotel for low price"
Huge shiny rooms with bath, TV, kitchen and everything else. Clean and comfortable. You can use it like your home. Great for long term stay too. "dreadful"
no positives, here are all the negatives: 1) insufficient parking - they don't tell you on the description that you will be parking on the street every night and need to fill out a tag to hang on your rearview mirror 2) the room smelled awful, patchouli i think. candle cost me $30 from nearest shop in the mall. 3) no drain stopper in bathroom sink. […] unacceptable for contact lens wearers. the owner gave me a moldy kitchen sink stopper. dreadful. 4) claustrophobic shower. i'm 5'2", 105 lbs and i couldn't even turn without hitting the wall 5) don't know why they even bothered with a shower door, the entire bathroom floor was soaking wet, 1" of water outside the door when i was done. 6) crummy blinds that were falling down and smashed, no privacy 7) door lock was so jammed, i was afraid i'd actually be locked IN the hotel room 8) super loud upstairs, side of room, no privacy at all expedia, do yourselves a favor and remove this motel from your options Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Makes the cut, but won't blow your mind"
The good: -Location is great, whether you're trying to check out Menlo Park or Palo Alto. -Room is almost absurdly spacious - it's more like an apartment than a hotel room. -There's a full kitchen, with great sized fridge, oven, stove, microwave. -There was an additional bed in the room, which we definitely didn't expect, a pretty great surprise. -Not […] that this is that big a deal, but it's pretty cool that there is a lemon tree and an orange tree inside the hotel interior. I ate 2 oranges right off the tree. Not something a native New Yorker gets to do every day. -Huge windows and a great air conditioner unit made the temperature perfect, although that's not that hard to do in this area I understand. ------------ The bad: -We stayed there for 4 or 5 nights. After the second night, no one came in to clean or refill our toilet paper, refresh towels or anything along those lines. I don't really care about the cleaning or towels, but toilet paper's kind of important. -Although I felt safe (as it's a safe area), our hotel room looked right onto the street, so people could look in if we opened the blinds, and they could probably easily come in if we open the windows. But again, we did feel safe. -The hotel staff are ghosts. No one's ever around - In the multi-day stay we had there, I think we saw one staff person one time. This is fine if you don't need anything, but when say, the internet goes out (which it did multiple times), it's nice to have some help. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wish I could say something nice..."
I wish I could say "it's not that bad" but, it really was not nice staying here. The place is just so old. My room actually had a lot of character - beautiful wood flloors - but the windows barely worked and had no screens, it was incredibly hot in my room and the portable air conditioner just didn't fit the bill, the toilet seat was broken, lots of […] dust bunnies on the floor, and I could hear every single car that passed on the nearby road - very difficult to hear the TV, much less get any sleep. The people there were so nice and it's clearly a family business. I'm sure they work hard. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Price and location were very good, and the only reasons that I would recommend the hotel. Hotel is old and not very well kept up. Parking situation was bad, very few spaces and they were tight.Genuine Expedia guest review
"An amazing dump."
To look at their website, you would think this a decent hotel. It doesn't look luxurious or anything, but it at least looks clean. Don't be fooled. What an incredible dump. It has an attractive price, so if that's your *only* criteria you should consider staying home.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Really bad service"
I had reserved a ground floor room more than 1 month in advance for my mother who cannot climb stairs. "Close to Stanford Hospital"
This hotel is old, it also appears that some of the units are being used as apartments, HOWEVER, the unit was clean, the beds were comfortable, could have comfortably slept 5. Mold in shower, hardly any hot water, TV old - sound of TV even 'older'. Room right on busy highway - no sound attenuation. I am surprised I didn't see any rodents. "A sad place"
There was no safety lock on the entrance door. The room fronted El Camino Real, and the window was single-pane, so it was very loud, all night long! "Read the reviews on "Trip Advisor" beforehand!"
There is no lobby at the Stanford Inn. Your transaction is, via a window. Although Ahmed, the clerk at the window, was friendly and accommodating and I was upgraded to a larger room that was to include a kitchen, the room was dirty, there was hair in my bed, there was one spoon, one coffee cup, thread bare towels, poor security on the door, a dirty […] refrigerator and oven. I am over 50 and I must say this was one of the worst places I have stayed in the past 30 years. My suitcases are still in my garage because I fear I may have brought bed bugs back with me. I should have researched this place more thoroughly. There are a number of Inns and Hotels with "Stanford" in the name, beware they are not equal in quality. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quirky, but a little too shabby to be worth it"
This hotel is run by a very nice family and it has a certain old-fashioned motor-court charm. However, it is too run-down and poorly-maintained to really be worth staying at. Leaky faucets, grumbling refrigerator, threadbare towels, and a mildewed shower curtain slapped up in a shower that was missing half its sliding shower door -- not to mention strange […] smells and loud noises coming through the ceiling and walls -- made this a less than pleasant stay. I was awarded a room with a kitchen. Strangely, the room included a number of pots and pans, but no stove. I still don't know what to make of that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awful"
Awful. Awful. Awful. Motel old, rugs dirty, noisy location, both truck traffic and train. Beds old with dated linens, bed spread. Bathroom difficult to navigate and moldy. Over priced for what you get. Up side was location close to medical center. New bed with new mattress and bedding and new rug would help. Best Western or similar would be much better […] choice and cheaper even tho little farther away fm med center. No use for tiny kitchen and large TV with game wires strung all over. "Good location to get places but very noisy"
Really close to busy highway and railroad tracks, so very noisy. Also flourescent lighting from outdoors shined into room even around the curtains -- but not all the windows had curtains. When we arrived it was quite cold (low 40's) and we wanted to turn the gas heater on. It was not working and the manager upgraded our room to a studio but the other day. We used two electric heaters to warm up the room. The next day we moved to the studio. The tap in the shower continuously leaked. The cleaning lady! emptied the bins and prepared the […] bed only. "Hotels along El Camino Real, Menlo Park, CA"
El Camino Real is really noisy. Maybe El Camino Imaginary will not be so. Thus, if city noises are soothing to your soul, it is a good place to stay. If you are more of a country person, stay away from any hotel along El Camino Real; the road noise will spoil your sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointing Room"
The Room was only superficially clean. Some cooking utensils were missing. Room was spacious, but on a noisy street location. Furniture was well worn. The Bathtub not usable (stopper did not work). "nice rooms, great location"
This hotel is small but don't let its overall size fool you. The room that we stayed in was huge, and had an 'old California' charm. "large but uncomfortable room"
The room was very large, with a kitchen, but it as not comfortable. The bed sucked and was covered with dust. There were some nails coming out of the hardwood floor. The hotel is in a good location, convenient to Stanford and the Medical Center. The rooms are spacious, but I was not happy with the bed linens (very old, and worn), or the condition of the room.
