Originally named by two Irishmen in 1853, Menlo Park has earned Tree City USA recognition for its 10,400 street trees. Visitors find a mix of shops, cafés, and artists’ studios at the serene Allied Arts Guild, a garden oasis. More greenery awaits at Burgess Park, Seminary Oaks Park, and Bayview Park, host to Annual Kite Day. In Palo Alto, south of Menlo Park, take some time to walk the grounds of the prestigious Stanford University.

Although it's conveniently close to Stanford it is not worth staying here. Parking is not abundant. There were black streaks on the pillows and cigarette burns on the comforters. There were screws holding the door mechanism together, we did not feel safe. So we left and stayed elsewhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Eh, it was okay..."
It's a mix of the hotel in "My Cousin Vinny" and Bruce Willis' hotel in "Pulp Fiction". They cleaned the hotel every day but just not as thoroughly as what I'm used to and they changed the towels with clean ones every day. Overall, it was just okay. It's REALLY cheap but amazing location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Only stay here in warm weather."
The location and stye of this hotel is quite suitable for families. Because of the lack of consistant heating throughout the room, it is not ideal in winter, fall and early spring. Our criticisms stem from these issues we found in our room: No sheets on the master bed, no soap in the bathroom (not even bar soap) and dishes from the previous guest were […] left in the sink. "Cozy and Quaint, a little lumpy and not too quiet."
I loved the location and the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I loved the size of the room perfect for families and those visiting for long periods would enjoy the studio apartment type layout. I had requested a quiet room which was off the main street (El Camino) however the constant slamming of door next to mine and the loud noise from […] the upstairs room required me to wear ear plugs. The shower was a little funky and smelled mildewing and it dripped non stop. Fortunately the door closed and blocked it out. The negatives would be bed was well worn and bit lumpy, sheets had what appeared to be metal dryer streaks on them and most importantly, the front door was flimsy, had a simple bedroom door lock and the chain was broken. OTHERWISE, a decent hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice room, but noisy."
A small place, well located if you have a car (right between Menlo Park and Palo Alto on the main road), but a bit of a lonely walk along a big road without one. Still, pretty close to Menlo Park's downtown and the Caltrain station, which was great. The place itself is quite old but homey, like living in an old apartment building. I was given the room […] nearest to the street corner on the main road. Nice and spacious, if aged, and with a whole kitchen. The main problem was the noise - since it's an old place and the room was just a few feet from the road, the rumble of the big trucks going by on the highway at hight speeds really echoed through the place. I managed, but it was as bit stressful to be awash in traffic sound constantly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stanford Inn"
A decent hotel. I had a kitchen and plenty of room. Nothing fancy, but the rate was so much lower than the higher end hotels down the street. It took me 5 minutes to drive to the conference every morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay but not great"
Very parking places and you have to, generally, park on the street. Otherwise a 3.5 would have been appropriate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quirky, but a little too shabby to be worth it"
This hotel is run by a very nice family and it has a certain old-fashioned motor-court charm. However, it is too run-down and poorly-maintained to really be worth staying at. Leaky faucets, grumbling refrigerator, threadbare towels, and a mildewed shower curtain slapped up in a shower that was missing half its sliding shower door -- not to mention strange […] smells and loud noises coming through the ceiling and walls -- made this a less than pleasant stay. I was awarded a room with a kitchen. Strangely, the room included a number of pots and pans, but no stove. I still don't know what to make of that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location to get places but very noisy"
Really close to busy highway and railroad tracks, so very noisy. Also flourescent lighting from outdoors shined into room even around the curtains -- but not all the windows had curtains. So it was never truly dark and quiet during the night. Also, the bathroom remained damp and chilly from overnight condensation. Even the toilet paper roll was damp. […] Also, the room door did not have a deadbolt -- only a doorknob lock. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"large but uncomfortable room"
The room was very large, with a kitchen, but it as not comfortable. The bed sucked and was covered with dust. There were some nails coming out of the hardwood floor. The bathroom was tiny and very hard to use. The shower was hard to use and it was almost impossible to get the water to the temperature you want. For a cheap hotel, it's a fine stay with […] reasonable service, but since the room wasn't that cheap, it underwhelmed us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Budger hotel close to Stanford U"
Located on El Camino Real: very busy street; noisy. Single pane windows do not absorb much noise. Good for short stay. Managers (and children) are very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Customer Service"
Older but large room. I did like the full kitchen. Very convenient. But the best part was the extreme helpfulness of the staff. They were very accomodating. A pleasure to deal with.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location - mostly nice place"
Room was nice with kitchen and perfect for long term stay. Internet was very flakey. Street parking a pain. Exterior look pretty shabby but room was well kept. My rate was reasonable for this convenient locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at this hotel because it was the only one that had a room available near the Sunset Celebration event. We stayed in the two room suite that offered two double beds, a sitting area, ktichen and dining area. The room was quaint, 'clean' and the water was hot. Maintenance of the room could have been better; the window in the front room was broken […] (corner cracked and missing a piece of glass) and the door did not have a secure lock. We had trouble actually getting the door to close. Once closed for the evening we had to put a chair under the handle. Parking is tight and there are only a few spaces in the courtyard. Additional parking is on the side street. In the future if we are in a bind for a hotel in the area we would consider staying here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, not what i was expecting"
Location was great, walking distance to stanford, which is good because there is no way you will get a cab outside of the hotel. The room was very large, 1 queen size bed and one twin size-- i think all the rooms vary a bit. wood floors, not very well insulated but usually not a problem in California. Overall not bad, just not great service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stanford Inn, near Stanford University, Menlo Park"
We stayed for 2 nights, but room and towels were not cleaned for the second day. No staff available at time of checkout. Good location, though parking on street was all that was available. Funky furnishings and dated decor, but good to have 2 bedrooms. Towels were not changed for 2nd day, nor room cleaned. Staff not available for check-out. Friendly […] check-in staff person. Well, the people were really nice indeed, but so many things haveto be fixed and renewed ... The room was big, as clean as possible. The location is very good, near Stanford and downtown Palo AltoGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not great but survivable"
The room was generally a bit grubby and some of the electrical fittings were falling out. The location was very convenient to get to. The beds were reasonably comfortable. All in all, it wasn't a great place to stay but as one of the cheapest and best located for where I needed to get to it surficed.Genuine Expedia guest review

Acceptable rooms, clean sheet everyday, relatively big room. The light were a little dark, and laundry is not available.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sucio"
Genuine Expedia guest review
