"Not as expected."
The hotel room was clean and had updated imenitites, but that was about it for the plus side of things. The outside courtyard was not kept up to the standard as seen in photos from the site and was in need of a lot of general mantainance. Upon check in, I was greeted cheerfully and when I was stating I had a reservation and gave my name, I was given […] a plain wihte envelope with my name and room number on it with the key enclosed. I was not asked for ID or any form of confirmation to affirm I was who I said I was. Security is definatley lax, I was glad I remembered to pack my sidearm with me. The hotel claims to have a 14 unit complex which is true, but the parking is very inadequate with only 5 parking spaces on premesis and 3 of those being taken up by ownership. I was offered a parking pass to park on the adjacent street which gave no securtiy to my personal property. I don't expect to return to this establishment any time soon. In closing, I would not recommend this to any friends or family, especially any single females traveling. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cold and loud"
Froze my butt off overnight in room 16. It was also very loud, facing the street. Very poor sleep as a result. I'd stayed here before and had a room on the side street, and apparently at a warmer time of year. I thought it was a great deal then, but have to change my mind about it now.Genuine Expedia guest review
"okay if you must stay close to Stanford area..."
I thought that motel could do for a few updates. the kitchen was in disappointing shape. (sink was very rusted). the refrigerator was a nice size, but still had left over baloney and cheese from who knows how long ago. I also think that the security could be a little improved. I know that the neighborhood is safe, but a simple deadbolt would make me […] feel much more comfortable staying there as a single female. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointed"
Great customer service at the front desk. However, dirty towels from the previous guest were left in the bathtub. Room was not soundproof so heard everything from upstairs neighbor who decided to do a raindance beginning at 6am in the morning. Room was large, but not enough electrical outlets, and curtains need to be replaced (they were literally […] falling off the window). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location but badly needs renovation"
The location is great. But the hotel is badly in need to renovation. The owners live on premises, and while courteous, don't know what professional hospitality and service means. Room is better than some bottom of the line budget motels. But that is not saying a lot because this place is still pricey. Staying once was ok but not again. Live in Mountain […] view instead if you can drive. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Disappointment"
The traffic noise from the street was very loud. (as was the train). The hotel was smaller than we thought - only about 5 parking spaces. Had to find parking on the street. The room was very spacious - it's cleanliness was questionable (stained carpet). The room was darkish and the TV didn't work. We found a fuse box in the closet and screwed in the […] fuses. No drinking cups or coffee cups. The room seemed well used and aged. Towels were very old and well used. Did not feel like spending any time there. Slept and left first thing in the morning. "You get what you pay for. which is not much."
The condition of this hotel was appropriate for the price that was paid. The owners running the place and living there were nice enough but you can hear their activities (and children crying) through the paper thin walls. There is little insulation in the place and the unit heater does little to help. The excessive mold in the bathroom is a huge issue. […] It seems more like a run down apartment than a motel and I would not recommend staying here unless the price is too good to pass up. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"good price and location, but setting was dismal."
Price and location were very good, and the only reasons that I would recommend the hotel. Hotel is old and not very well kept up. Parking situation was bad, very few spaces and they were tight.Genuine Expedia guest review

"stanford inn"
When we arrived it was quite cold (low 40's) and we wanted to turn the gas heater on. It was not working and the manager upgraded our room to a studio but the other day. We used two electric heaters to warm up the room. The next day we moved to the studio. The tap in the shower continuously leaked. The cleaning lady! emptied the bins and prepared the […] bed only. I dont think she ever broomed the room. She was leaving the door unlocked and left the lights on every now and then. Terrible experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The Stanford Inn"
This place is more motel than hotel. The rooms are older and run down; bathroom tile grout - both in the shower and around the floor - was full of mildew and cracks. Towels in the bathroom also didn't match and were often frayed at the edges. The walls in the bathroom, kitchen, closet and bedroom/living room all have been patched and touched up with […] paint/dry wall mud that didn't match. Tthe kitchen was "outfitted" with random dishes - nothing that matched in size, color or type - four bowls, eight large plates, one small plate - totally random and many that were chipped. And speaking of chipped, the fridge and freezer were constantly icing up to the point where I had to daily chip ice off the inside of the fridge. I tried turning the temperature down but then nothing stayed cold. The biggest problem - the television audio failed on numerous channels (but not all channels) including the main broadcast networks. It took three days to have the problem fixed. While the bed was comfortable no sleep ensued because the hotel is across the street from the train tracks and you could hear trains running all night long. Lastly, what hotel doesn't supply a blanket? This place only supplied a polyester bed spread that you definitely didn't want touching your skin. The nicest thing to say about this place - the staff is very nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"One star at best"
This hotel is creepy, dirty, cold, noisy and totally unsuitable for anything but a flophouse.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A complete dump"
The title says it all - a complete dump. Dirty, peeling paint, a throw-rug in the sleeping area on top of the bare wood floors that likely had not been cleaned in years. No window screening. This place probably gets a lot of business due to it's name. In my opinion, Stanford should sue for a name change of this place, as they are potentially implying […] a relationship. If you can, stay at the Stanford Guest House. It's run by Stanford, offers about the same rate, but is light-years better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Stanford Inn"
The price is right and the room was nice on the inside, but if you want to get any sleep at all do not stay on the first floor as you can hear every step of those above you. I was up all night. Women may not want to stay here as the windows and doors open up right on the street/parking area so it is not particularly secure. But the inside of the room […] was fine. "lack of communication"
I was told to hang an overnite sign in my car, and I could park overnite. When I got a ticket, the police said I should have moved my car by 5 a.m. The room was spacious, but we never had our beds made or towels changed. Pleasant surroundings, good location but no parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"in dire need of updating"
The staff was nice and friendly which and the rooms are huge. They are very dirty though and the entire hotel needs to be renovated. There was mold in the bathroom and the kitchen is especiialy dirty. The room also had a rug that looked like it hadn;t been vacuumed in ages. There was also a lot of noise from traffic on the camino. I complained about […] the cleanlisness of the room and someone did come in to give it a better cleaning. Howver the rooms are so rundown that I'm afraind no cleaning will help. "Adequate accommodations, but not impressed"
The unit had the aroma of a chlorine-like substance used for cleaning. The beds were old and and uncomfortable. The shower curtain had mold. The parking is limited, entry into the center court parking area is narrow and only provides six stalls. Street parking with an overnight city pass is required. Although I would not stay there again, it does provide […] adequate accommodations for those that need to stay close to Stanford for an extended period and are on a budget. It is conveniently located near the Stanford Shopping Mall and the there is a 24 hour Safeway down the street. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Strange, though some might think charming"
This was apparently apartments before it became a motel. The "room" was enormous, with interesting architectural features, but oddly configured. It was on a busy corner, with noisy traffic at the best of times. There was an in-room air conditioner (not window--the other kind), which was not turned on when we arrived. The room was stifling, and the air […] conditioner only helped somewhat. Also, it decided to turn itself off in the middle of the night, and couldn't be persuaded to turn back on. Most importantly, we couldn't keep the windows open even when it cooled off outside because of the traffic noise. This was magnified to an unbearable level when the night-time road construction crew started work at about 11:00 P.M. Oh, yes, there was a lovely ceiling fan which was our salvation--kept the air moving and helped mask the outside noise. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location - poorly maintained"
This hotel is in great need of repair. The locks on the door didn't work properly and the metal parts on the door jam were coming loose. The bathroom had many broken tiles. The positive feature was it's close proximity to Stanford University and affordability. I won't stay there again though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"the stanford inn"
I found the hotel room to be quite spacious. There were two very good size (queen)beds. The kitchenette along with sitting area were quaint. Parking was somewhat of a problem. There were no open spots but the street ones.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stanford Inn -near Hospital"
grat location but the buildings are very old - original windows which did not work and very noisey at night. Suites are a very strange layout and the furniture must have come from a discount house. The person who checked us in was very polite and informative but the intire transaction was done thru a glass window with a drawer ( makes you wonder why […] ) Price is good for the convenience to the hospital but not very restful. We could not get our pick-up in the courtyard parking so had to park on the street which then you need to "buy" a parking permit. Pictures posted are very deceptive.
