"Comfortable and close to shopping"

"Would stay here again!"
We came from Portland to see a Mariner's game, and on the holiday weekend, many motels in Seattle were already booked. It worked out well for us to stay in Federal Way, as we headed home the next day. The motel was right by the freeway, although we missed seeing the sign when we first exited. Our room was clean and comfortable. The walls were a little […] thin, so we tried to keep the volume of our tv down. The breakfast was great - more than the typical 'continental' breakfast with make-your-own waffles, other breads/pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and even boiled eggs. "The pictures are slightly deceiving."
The hotel is a good location for Wild Waves; however there is MAJOR highway construction going on. Our room was on the basement level and it reeked horribly of mildew. From the pictures I viewed, I thought the hotel was slightly nicer. The service is good. We left a baby blanket by accident and they washed and held it for us. However they did not offer […] to send it, instead I had to either send a prepaid envelop or pick it up. "The good, the bad, and the ugly"
Good: close to freeway, several great restaurants, grocery store, and the water park. Staff friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. Bad: older hotel, needs updating, some non-smoking rooms were clearly smoking rooms at one point. Ugly: the carpets were so dirty that our socks/feet were black after just the first night. When the rooms were "cleaned" […] on our second day, they clearly did not sweep or vacuum or wipe anything down. I understand it's not a 5-star hotel but that has nothing to do with being clean. With that said, I would recommend it for a quick getaway to the water park due to location, easy of access to the freeway, cheapiest in the area and the friendly staff. "Average Motel with ROACHES"
We weren't expecting much, since it was your basic motel for a GOOD price. But my wife was afraid to let the kids touch stuff ( including the bed spread ) because it just didnt look too clean. The worst was waking up in the middle of the night to find your sharing the bathroom with a ROACH. That ruined it for me. "Not the place to be.."
I will never stay at this hotel again. There were dirty towels on the door n my 2 yr old son found garbage n old toys under the bed. When told the lady at the front desk she just says I will call you back, and never recieved a call back. "a place to sleep only"
This hotel was in a busy location by the highway, altho the AC drowned out most of the noise. You are surrounded by urban sprawl so there are plenty of places to eat or shop. It's about an hour to Mt. Rainier and quite cheap. The rooms were clean. The staff was very helpful. "Super 8, Federal Way, WA - fine interstate motel"
The good - room / bathroom clean and spacious, bed comfortable, noise minimal with windows closed. Really all you want for an interstate motel. The not-so-good: Halls smell ... makes you wonder what you got in to until you get in your room (which did not smell at all ... we had 2 non-smoking rooms). This motel is NOT for the disabled or elderly ... […] 3 floors, NO ELEVATOR ... must be able to carry bags up a flight of stairs. Breakfast was "ok" but on the cheap side. Typical waffle makers (2), off-brand cereal, cheap bread/muffins. Horrible coffee. "Simple, affordable, and friendly"
The rooms were clean, though the hallways do smell like smoke, so if you are sensitive to that, be aware. Also, we asked for extra towels the first day, and they were gone by the 2nd.
