The only issues I had were that there was only 1 elevator working and a gentleman that I rode on the elevator with said that every time he stays there an elevator is not working. In addition the parking situation is not clearly marked as to where to proceed to park. Otherwise the room and hotel was great!

My only issues were that there were a few maintenance items that hadn't been taken care of, but prior guest might not have mentioned them. Lights that didn't work, safe left locked, etc. But otherwise, it was a nice place in a perfect location.

This hotel is brand new and in an excellent location. It was a couple of minutes walk to dinner and a movie. There was also a great gelato place next door as well as a little ice rink and shops. Alofts really do a great job with their decor and modern look.

Where should I begin... Let's start by saying that I seek out to stay at Aloft hotels whenever I have the option to do so because I like the decor, showers, amenities, etc. and I have stayed at this particular Aloft once before. The last time I was there the only complaint I had, was that there was no light by the vanity, to remedy the situation they […] temporarily placed a desk lamp on top of the counter, as a man, I really didn't see the big deal, but if I had been traveling with my wife, it would have been a completely different story, however that was then and this is now. I specifically sought out this hotel because I have business in the area. First, they placed me in a room with a king bed and I had requested a room with two beds, no big deal, the front desk quickly made a change and I was off to the second room, this is where it all fell apart. Upon opening the door to the hallway leading to the rooms, there was a stench of sewage, not a mild smell, but a god awful smell that made me hold my breath, naively I thought, this might just be in the hallway and the room surely will not smell like this.... WRONG! The room was slightly less putrid smelling, but by no means did it smell nice. As I had already made a change in rooms, I didn't want to be one of those guests that complains about every little thing, besides, once you're in a place, your olfactory senses get used it and I might not even notice it. I had been driving for nearly 8 hours and all I wanted was a shower and clean bed. I began to unpack, undressed, and as I made my way to the shower, I began to notice little details, such as, there was a huge brown stain on the carpet (could have been wine, blood or a combination, but kept walking and once I reached the shower, I noticed the tiles still had residue from soap/shower gel and that just did it. One note though, the address says it is in Overland Park, but is actually located in Leawood, Kansas which is next to Overland Park, but gps will take you else where. I really enjoyed it. The hotel is very modern and has a lot of nice features including a comfortable lounge area, pool table, restaurant and eating area, and bar. The rooms are a little small but so well designed you hardly notice. Rooms have a table that can be used as an office, with multiple plugs for your computer and peripherals, a large screen […] TV hung on the wall in front of the bed, a closet for hanging clothes and a modern bathroom with lots of glass and marble. There is also a "Media box" where you can plug an mp3 player, computer, or other device into it and play it through the TV. Nice touch. I liked it very much and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys modern decor with some cool electronic features. Read more

Every Aloft hotel I have stayed at has been exactly the same and that is a very good thing, being in the family of W hotels you can expect it to be consistently good (in my experience). For the bad: There was construction taking place next to the hotel and limited the convenience of parking, the light by the vanity was out, I would have said something, […] but it seemed as though something was wrong with the electricity and not a lightbulb, because they had placed a table lamp to assist with the lighting and that kind of/sort of fixed the issue. Now for the good: The staff is predictably cheerful and helpful (especially the front desk.) The pool was great as it was indoors and it was a salt water pool (which is one of my personal favs.) The showers are awesome as always (I hate bathtubs) The restaurant in the lobby was great and the property (being new) was very well kept. Overall I recommend this hotel to everyone, especially if you are in the area on business *as I was. 5 stars for the experience - 4 stars for the inconvenience and construction. 5 stars for the hotel staff. The hotel was great. The room was clean and staff was friendly. I was actually upset with this website, though, as it does not mention very prominently that bed preferences are not guaranteed. I had reserved two queen beds. When I got there, the room only had one bed. The hotel staff explained that when buying from a third party sight, the hotel has […] the right to give away rooms to people who book from them directly. The only thing that has to be honored is the number of people staying in the room. They did not have any rooms with two beds left. I guess I should have looked at the website closer, but since it let me pick the number of beds, I thought that was locked in. I checked later and it is written in small print at the bottom of the page. Staff was courteous when explaining this to me. Just be careful to know this information when booking. I got a great deal though this site, but I hadn't expected to share a bed. This was a business trip with a colleague. As long as you realize this risk in advance and are ok with it, you can get a great deal. Read more

The check-in process addressed above was the biggest concern. I also was surprised that ice and vending items were available only on the second floor reception area. I only found that out by accident since there was no hotel information guide in the room nor was there any kind of phone book. Many of the staff I encountered seemed disinterested. The […] only problem I had with the room (a faulty safe) was quickly remedied. The hotel is in the middle of a pedestrian mall with many shops and eating options. Unlike some of the other reviews I read, I encountered no problems with noise from the first floor club - but I was on the top floor. The bed was very comfortable and the flat panel TV was excellent. I liked the convenience of an empty refrigerator without an overpriced mini-bar in it. Overall it was a pleasant stay. I anticipated something out of the ordinary and it certainly fit that description. An upscale convenient hotel that may need a little tweaking of attitude and in-room information availability.
