"Bad experiences"
Hotel was one step above a Motel 6. Made reservations a month in advance. When we arrived were told we were only guaranteed a room. The hotel Did not Honor are Requests made during reservations such as top floor king bed. I will not visit this hotel again. After reading other Hotels.com reviews about this property, we weren't sure what to think; but we decided to go for it anyway! We could not have had a nicer pet-friendly stay. As has been noted by other reviewers, this property has extremely pleasant staff. "Great value for the price- Snowboarding & Gambling"
Snowboarding is a pricey hobby in itself, add to that gambling and you'll want to save money wherever you can so you can still enjoy both. If you don't mind staying at a hotel that has a 90's motel feel then this is the place for you. It's a great price for it's location, right off the highway & close to reno w/o the pricey reno rates and 1hr from Sugar […] Bowl. There is FREE parking & wi-fi. There is a ref in the room. Only problem is our shower/tub didn't drain well so from a night shower it was still clogged in the morning until we checked out. Across the parking lot is their casino & restaurants. Only problem w/ casino is the smoking but they have Excellent 4star service in their Steakhouse with delicious food at reasonable prices & a graveyard special at their 24hr Cafe Bellini for breakfast, $3.99 from 11p-7a. As long as you don't mind the stink of smoke when you walk into the casino to check in to the hotel, it was a fine place. It was a bit of a pain to drive around in circles out first time there, and then back again to the hotel after we figured out that the hotel desk is inside the casino. When we turned the corner and saw that the Inn and Casino is literally truck stop adjacent I was a little concerned. The buildings are a bit dated, and the parking lot is packed with local cars. My boyfriend and I quickly found out that was because the Casino is home to some incredibly affordable gambling, $1 Black Jack and $3 Craps. AND there are great […] deals for the restaurants. Buy one entree get one free. And the food portions are insanely huge. Inside the Casino is smokier than any casino I've ever been in. We're talking stomach churning. I don't know how the employees survive. But there is some relief in the restaurants. The room we stayed in was nice and quiet. Very comfy bed although it did have a faded stain. The shower wasn't anything to write home about. It is certainly a shower. I'm just thankful we did have a good night's rest and had a great day of snowboarding at Diamond Peak the next day. "Better than expected"
Friends (3) and I booked this hotel on a last minute trip during President's Day holiday. This hotel was practically one of the very last few hotels left to book in the Reno/Sparks area. Overall, we were very satisfied with the room. A little cramped for a double bed but the flat screen TV and frig made up for that. Only think I wasn't pleased about […] was a black eyeliner was found tucked between the cushion of the desk chair. It wasn't so bothersome that I had to notify housekeeping. Hotel was clean. Needed much updating in everything. The head board of the bed was and hung on the wall, in other words cheap. Not bad for th price but not what I expected when the ratings were "4" stars. I would rate it 3, and that's me being generous. We stay here every time we go to Reno because we have dogs and they're more accommodating compared to other hotels in Reno. There's a dog park within walking distance and the marina is a plus too. The dog deposit is much more reasonable here than any other hotel I've seen in Reno. Good price, but that was all. Basically, it's a trucker's motel with an adjacent casino. The room was disappointing, able to hear everything in halls. No remote for the tv and took asking both front desk and later housekeeping to bring replacement before it finally arrived an hour later.
