This hotel was very disappointing. When you think of a bed and breakfast you have a certain idea of the charm it might have. For the price this was way under what we expected. We have stayed in other B&B. There was always a hot breakfast. This was continental. Nice but continental in a B&B?

This B&B was okay. The location to the Vineyard Haven ferry is what makes it a deal (about a 7 minute walk). The bed was clean, but not super comfortable. A nice, friendly, quite area with a 10-minute walk to downtown. Streets are very dark at night, however. Relatively clean, a comfortable bed, and nice TV. There was no soap in the bathroom or extra toilet paper, and they state that there is a hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the room, which there wasn’t, but host was very accommodating to give […] items needed. Also, if you want ice, you must ask the host in advance. The living room/ breakfast area was welcoming, including another TV and games. A simple breakfast is included: pastry, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee, and the host made yogurt parfaits which were very nice. It seemed that only one guest room was able to control the A/C. They don’t clean or make the bed (but it is a B&B, not a hotel). The maintenance of the place could be improved if they would carry a screwdriver and pliers. They advertise a pool, however another reviewer mentioned that it’s been broken since August 2011. (When we asked about the pool, we were told that the pump had been broken for a few weeks, but obviously it’s been much longer.) The pool would’ve been really nice, but it’s just as well, we got to see more of the island! Read more

Pool was not in operation, water was green. There were no towels provided in room and no towel in bathroom to wipe hands. The continental breakfast consisted of one pastry from a box. Ran out of half and half. Continental breakfast was not open until 8:30 which was too late.

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little concerned about what my experience would be. I am pretty picky about where I stay, but I wanted to try a bed and breakfast for the first time and this was a decent price. I wouldn't expect hotel type of services at a bed and breakfast, so I wasn't disappointed. The manager responded to my emails quickly, […] was always available whenever we needed something, and offered breakfast other than what was out and available. Our room was clean, light and airy. The place is small and is family-run. The only complaint I would have is that they don't freshen up rooms until after the second night's stay. We stayed three nights but our room never got cleaned, which makes sense because they would have had to clean it two days in a row. I would suggest that they clean up halfway through a person's stay instead of sticking to the 2 night rule. Other than that, I was happy to have coffee, muffins, and sometimes a yogurt parfait and a nice, clean, comfortable place to sleep. I would go back. Read more

OK - We stayed here. Let me begin by saing the staff (one guy) on duty was really polite and easy to work with. Absolute nice kid and totally trustworthy. However, who ever really owns the hotel needs to update a few things.For example, it's called a "bed and breakfast" for a reason, yet there is barely any breakfast. Just cereal and juice. You pay […] bed and breakfast prices but get nothing. Second, the hotel needs serious remodeling. Mildew and mold in the bathroom, the beds look like they are at least 20+ years old. The walls are filthy...We were so disgusted with our room and such that we actually woke up early to checkout before 9 AM. We just wanted to leave after one night. What a waste of money. I wish the owners cared about the place to fix it. This bed& breakfast was the first one I have ever stayed very nice experience. The rooms are clean and service is prompt. Very quiet area nice to relax and enjoy the area, which is only 5 minutes from Vineyard Haven. I would recommend this room do to my recent stay very affordable also.

This B&B was probably the worst place we have ever stayed in, although it was far from the least expensive. The location was in a neighborhood, far from the dock. The manager said we could walk it instead of taking a cab, so we lugged our bags, for over a half mile, part of the way uphill. The room was barely OK. There was a canopy bed, with a noisy […] plastic pad just under the sheet, but there was no soap, no hair dryer, no ice or bucket, no glasses in the room and no house-keeping or even fresh towels until you checked out. Breakfast was put out only between 8:30m and 9:30am although the manager said you could let him know if you wanted breakfast beyond those hours. There was no available coffee or tea at any other time. There was a pool, but it was full of algae. The yard was dry and unkempt. When we checked out at 8:00am on our last morning we had to get the manager up to do so. All in all, not a place where we would ever stay again. Read more

This B & B is very misleading! They advertise a pool, however its been broken since the last hurricane in August 2011. Would have been nice to know they weren't planning on fixing it any time soon. While the property manager went out of his way to make our stay comfortable, the rooms were hot, unclean (bugs, dirty waste baskets, etc.), and the breakfast was - at best - continental only and not very inspiring. Location is still about 1/2 mile from the heart of Vineyard Haven.

My husband and I were very unsatisfied with our one night stay at this place. First, we never received a call to confirm our reservation (I had to e-mail to get a response). Second, the room was extremely small and not properly equipped the necessities we needed including dixie cups for brushing teeth. The shower was so small, my husband couldn't bend […] over to wash his feet and he's not that tall. The pillows were flat and extremely uncomfortable. Last but not least, the toilet seat was broken and the only light in the bathroom was attached to the fan which made for a very noisy clean up! Extremely dissatisfied. Breakfast the next morning wasn't great either. The host made us Strawberry yogurt parfait's in plastic cups instead of a home cooked breakfast that my husband was so craving for. Nice size bathroom, clean room, nothing outstanding, basic. The real let down was the breakfast. Cold store bought cinnamon rolls, three types of cold cereal in plastic containers with milk and that was it. Did have a coffee maker, but twice needed water to be added and once no cups to use.

This B&B re-opened recently under new management, which I was hoping would mean they'd be at the top of their game to try to win good reviews. Not the case. The interaction with the owners was indifferent. The room/bathroom needed repair and updates. The breakfast was inadequate self-service. […] The location is not really near the town center - it'd be walkable, but it's a long walk and not one I'd want to do with bags. I get the impression the folks who are running the place don't really know what they're doing yet. My 27 yr old daughter and I stayed just one night on a 2-day visit to see my son who lives on the island. We thought we'd have to stay somewhere off the island to save money, but this b&b (which is newly opened) was a great price. Yes, it is a 20 minute walk from our ferry with a bit of an uphill, but we got some exercise. Some guests were using a cab […] to go back and forth to town, and said the rates were reasonable. We knew about the distance before we arrived, so we were sure to bring small suitcases on wheels. It was hot, so upon arrival we used the wonderful pool, met some other very nice guests, and then went back to our perfect-climate air conditioned room. New renovated house. We had a nice big room with a nice atmosphaer. The bathroom was very small, it covers only minimal requirements. The owner was friendly and helpful (only the lady, the son who was during arrival there, was not so friendly). High price compared with performance is on the upper limit.
