"not a good hotel to stay for Yosemite."
Everything is ok. However, the air conditioner was taken about 5 hours to get your room cool off. The air conditioner is about at least 20 years old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"not worth the money, even it's cheap"
Old room, smell, wifi is unstable and hard to connect, nobody picks up the front desk call, close to the Yosemite exit is the only good thing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The very disappointing motel"
The air conditioner was loud, had trouble falling asleep. They didnt make the beds the next day. They didn't put another set of soap and shampoo the next day. They didn't clean up the bathroom the next day. The room was not very clean. The towels were very flimsy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Basic motel"
The location was perfect for our purposes in visiting Jamestown. The price was right for what you get, nothing fancy, no extras, just a bed, cable TV and bathroom. The sheets were badly stained but the staff was very responsive in changing them out. If you're just looking for a cheap place to stay the night, it's okay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"They charged us extra for the in-room hottub."
First impression it was nice. The heater didn't work, the front desk didn't answer the phone when I called, the front office staff was rude when I asked about the jacuzzi. (They had the water supply turned off so you don't use the hot tub without paying.) If you look at the reservation site it doesn't say you have to pay to use the tub. I asked for […] extra towels once I paid for the jacuzzi and they got us small towels that had holes in them. The small room heater that was furnished was squealing when we turned it on. The remote didn't work the tv. The room was clean and everything put in its place, just seemed to penny pinch where they could. The floors were very thin and I could everything the upstairs resident was doing. It was very loud. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Jamestown Railtown Motel in Jamestown, CA"
A way-stop on the way to the Calif Gold Country. Pleasant enough but completely lacking in extras, the door locks with a worn metal key on a fob and no in- room coffee! TV set primitive w/malfunctioning remote. Clean and odor-free room with closet sized bathroom. Overnight acceptable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dirty, Shabby and Dusty"
Everything apart from sheets, towels and carpet were shabby and dirty. Seals broken on windows. Chairs so dirty did not use. Fridge front so dusty was able to write name on it. Curtains were worse condition than ones in local second hand /thrift shops.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No deposit/ no return for us."
Booked 2 nights based on comments here but was dissatisfified with our visit. Toilet had 2 quarter size "brown spots". Tissue box had only 1-2 tissues the first night and was not replenished the second day. Bottom sheet was wrong type and size- 8" of the mattress was exposed on day 1. Bottom of bath/shower was black and despite new carpets room (room […] 33) REEKED of a urine type odor. Also dislike having a key to ONLY the knob lock and NOT the deadbolt (I'm an ex locksmith and *believe* that there is some law in Ca. that states rooms for rent REQUIRE a FUNCTIONING DEADBOLT). Took computer and other items with us to Yosemite everyday knowing a credit card or pocketknife could open the door. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"NoComfort"
The bed was horrible. The mattress was collapsed as well was the box springs. When laying down our heads were below our feet. Had to sleep head first at the foot of the bed. Felt like someone beat me after attempting to sleep on that bed. THE WHOLE BED HAS TO BE REPLACED, BOX SPRINGS AND MATTRESS. Although the room had good overall cleanliness the jacuzzi […] tub had hair on the bottom of the tub. It was also there on the second day of our stay, after the room was serviced. "If there's nowhere else to stay..."
We went to the Celtic Festival in Sonora and decided to book a hotel only a few days before the festival, so all the hotels in Sonora were booked. Jamestown was only a few miles away, so I picked this place. The price wasn't bad and at least they had a hot tub. Well, the pool and hot tub were both disgusting and not open. Maybe they open in the summer, […] since we did go in the middle of March and they were outdoors. But they still could have had the hot tub open. That's the main reason I chose this hotel over others in town. The hotel itself was old and crappy. Our room was acceptable, however they didn't even provide shampoo. At least there was a fridge. We only used the hotel to drop off our stuff and come back and sleep that night, so I wasn't really disappointed, but if you are looking for a nice place to stay, don't stay here. "Jamestown Railtown Hotel -Good as a last resort"
This hotel is adequate if you're looking for a last-minute place to sleep. The website says there is a pool and spa - when we were there (March 2011) both were green and non-operational. The room itself was large, but the shag carpet was a bit scary! The shower still had the previous guests' hair in it! But you get what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
