"Under construction!"
Initially, we couldn't get into the hotel because the front door and lobby were being completely renovated. The guest entrances were locked making it difficult to enter the building. We had my elderly mother with us and the girl that finally let us in was extremely rude. After bringing this situation to the attention of the manager they were very accommodating. […] They gave us a wheel chair for our mother and that helped significantly. Our room was not stocked with hangers, glasses trash bag liners...They brought them when we requested.The rest of the staff was very helpful. They did not have their hotel handicap accessible. (i.e. when we wheeled our mother off the elevator to go to breakfast they had blocked off the ramp to the breakfast/ exit area so the construction workers assisted my mother down the 4 steps and carried her wheelchair for her. ) I am not sure what we would have done without the construction workers help all weekend! "Disappointing stay at Auburn Hills Hilton Suites.."
I took my girlfriend to stay there for our 1yr anniversary and we were disappointed to find that both the jacuzzi and sauna were out of service while we were there. When I inquired about it, the front desk attendant informed me that they were uninstalling the sauna later in the week and missing a part to propel the jet nozzles in the jacuzzi. To advertise […] both amenities and not have them in service is reprehensible and literally constitutes false advertising! And on top of that, when I ordered the breakfast room service, they forgot my sausage patties. So I was inconvenienced by having to call down to room service and have them make another trip to bring some to me. On a positive note, the room was very nice and felt very clean. Although not a completely bad experience, it still did not live up to my expectations for the premium rate I paid for my stay, and it put a damper on our special occasion. "Hotel in *NEED* of remodeling!!"
For a nice getaeay from the kids. Me and my beau decided to take a little road trip to Auburn Hills. While we are Michigan residents we wanted to have the feel of being out of town. We arrivved to the Hilton on a Friday at approx 2pm which I thought was pretty descent considering most you cant check in until 3pm. With that being said that was the highlight […] of our stay. The entrance is nice and they have a traditional style atrium which is huge. But when we got to our room it was very old school and not what you would expect from a Hilton. the base board around the fridge was cracked and had some like plywood nail against it but it was visible. The bedroom portion of the room had and old style TV that buzzed on channel HBO. Immediatley I decided this will not work. Contacted the front desk and they readily swamped our room (not an upgrade). "Poor service, and poor hotel upkeep"
The receptionist at check in was not helpful. I needed a luggage cart and she blew me off. When I got to my floor, there was an empty cart just sitting there waiting to be collected and returned to the lobby. Note:my room was the thrid farthest suite on the floor. The suite's heat didn't work, the spare blanket had a hole, and the sink hot water handle […] came off in my hand on first use. I notified the front desk to fix the sink....afterward being "fixed" the handle again came off in my hand when I used it next. I went down to the desk and asked for some one to come correct the problems with the suite along with cleaning the bathroom since there was something brown splattered on the wall in th toilet area. They changed the blanket and "fixed" the sink handle (the handle now spun completely around), everything else was left the same. When I went down to use the pool and hot tub, Iwas again disappointed. The pool and hot tub both needed a good scrubbing to get rid of the grime. Complaining to the Hilton internet site after I left did nothing. I received an e-mail stating that the manager of the Hilton I stayed in would be contacting me directly to make amends for the horrible stay. That was nearly three weeks ago and I've heard nothing. "Not Impressed"
There were 6 of us and we booked a room with 2 double beds and a pull out sofa bed. The cushions on the stool and chair were black with dirt. When making the sofa bed the blanket provided had dried up stains all over it (it hadn't been washed). We asked for a replacement before we left to go shopping and were told one would be in our room when we arrived […] back. However when we arrived back to the room hours later it had not yet arrived. So I called the front desk again. We had to request more towels and toliet paper as there were only 2 towels and a half roll of toilet paper in the washroom. The carpet in the room was filthy and there were cigarette butts all over the balcony. The girls running the breakfast were fabulous and the breakfast buffet was excellent.
