"Ehh"
We prefer and choose to stay in Hampton Inn's. This one does not reach the bar. Room was very musty smelling and I would give the cleanliness a 7 out of 10. Breakfast was not as good as others we have stayed in. Also observed a guest complaining about kids running down the halls. Clerk advised the guest there was no quiet policy to her knowledge. "VT Parent Weekend"
The hotel was a little out of the way for parent weekend at Virginia Tech, but there wasn't anything else available closer. Continental breakfast was included, but it was high in carbs and fat and low in protien. Property was well kept, but there wasn't a quiet place in the whole building. I was trying to find a place to read without disturbing my family […] in our room. "Clean Hotel, Not Comfortable"
The location of the hotel is perfect. Located right off the exit from Interstate 81, it was very easy to find. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, which is another huge plus. The room was very clean and the hotel looks like they recently did a remodel not too long ago. They offer a a nice sitting area with a large screen TV for the guest to sit […] and relax as you eat your free breakfast. The only downside to this hotel was the beds. We stayed in a King Suite which has a king bed and a sleeper sofa for our daughter. The King bed was lumpy and extremely uncomfortable. The pillows were cheap and unsupportive for your neck. The sofa bed mattress was so flat that you could fee every spring. When they did their remodel a few years ago, they should have purchased some new beds as well.
