Beach House Restaurant
Pacific Edge Hotel's signature restaurant, the Beach House, was the 1920's home of Hollywood character actor Slim Summerville (All Quiet on the Western Front, Tobacco Road). Family-owned and operated for over 40 years, the restaurant offers an unforgettable Laguna Beach dining experience under the guidance of executive chef Michael Ingino.
Be prepared for the freshest fish, shellfish and certified beef available, overlooking what some consider the OC's most dramatic sunsets. Much of the home's original woodwork, fixtures and wrought iron remain, adding a touch of classic Southern California to your meal. Dine inside amidst the ocean views or opt for the tranquility of the garden courtyard.
The Deck
The more casual of our two eateries, The Deck is the only open-air, beachside restaurant in Laguna Beach. Its plank flooring is suspended over the sand steps from the surf, which at high tide can wash ashore right below your table. This means you can plant your surfboard after catching a few waves and walk right up the bar to quench your thirst and fill your stomach.
The Deck is a favorite hangout for locals, who know a thing or two about what's good in town. Here, you can enjoy a full menu focused on seafood, beef and specialty chopped salads (to keep you looking your best), in addition to a full bar. All surrounded by the best sights and sounds the Orange County coast has to offer.
The Green Room
Yes, we know The Deck gets crowded at times. It's The Deck and this is Laguna Beach, after all. So, next time you're waiting for a table or barstool, step inside the Green Room and relax. Have a drink while space opens up or stay for awhile and eat inside. It's a totally different vibe that happens to be right next door. Same menu. Same drinks. Plus plush seats, plenty of elbow room and a wood burning fireplace. You can also rent the Green Room for your own private party and join the fray outside when you're good and ready
Surf Cabanas
California is home to some of the most celebrated wave spots in the world, including surf breaks such as Maverick's, Rincon, Malibu, Brooks Street and Trestles. The Surf Cabanas were named in their honor for providing world-class amenities and service right at the water's edge. In addition to stunning ocean views, every Surf Cabana offers air-conditioned rooms, flat screen TVs and private baths and showers. Each Surf Cabana also comes with a friendly and knowledgeable Beach Sherpa and Cabana Girl to assist you with everything from setting up your beach chairs and umbrellas, to ordering your food and beverages, to arranging guided gallery tours. Our staff is here to create the perfect beach experience for you. Just say what and we'll make it happen.
Relax on the beach with complimentary beach towels, lounge chairs and umbrellas. Splash around in one of our two heated swimming pools, or unwind in the hot tub.
Pacific Edge Hotel is right in the heart of greater Orange County and just minutes from downtown Laguna Beach. It also makes an great base of operations for exploring Southern California. We're less than an hour from the world-famous Disneyland, not to mention an easy drive from Universal Studios, the San Diego Zoo and Knott's Berry Farm.
Laguna Beach itself also has plenty to offer. An artistic beach community, it's home to art galleries and arts festivals, including Laguna Beach Art Walk, Sawdust Art Festivals, Art-A-Fair, the Festival of Arts, and the unique Pageant of the Masters. Our oceanfront property puts you right upstairs from the beach, as well as the shops and restaurants along Coast Highway.
Bike Trails
Aliso and Wood Canyons offer a nice variety of beginner through advanced rides, and is perfect for introducing the first time off-roader to the joys of the sport. Newbies will enjoy the Sycamore Run, while advanced riders prefer the Cholla/Rock-It or Cholla/Mathis.
Kayaking
See Laguna Beach the way it was meant: from the Pacific. There's no way to get closer to the reefs, private beaches, tide pools and sea life. You'll also see some magnificent beachfront homes.
Sport Fishing & Whale Watching
Go on a two-hour whales & dolphin adventure with Dana Wharf, or try a half-day sportfishing trip in coastal waters. Tuesday fishing trips are two-for-one.
Pacific Marine Mammal Center
Just for Pacific Edge Hotel guests, the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Canyon offers Sunday afternoon tours that include behind-the-scenes experiences and the opportunity to witness animal feedings. Tours are arranged in advance with 48 hours notice
The Ocean Institute
The Ocean Institute has become nationally known for its hands-on marine science, environmental education and maritime history programs. On weekends, doors are open to the public for a sneak peek into how ocean science, history, and literature are used to inspire life-long learners

Reality TV portrays Laguna Beach as the land of the young and spoiled. But beneath this veneer is a city rooted in the arts. The Laguna Playhouse is one of the oldest theaters in the West Coast. The city also hosts the annual Festival of the Arts/Pageant of the Masters and the Sawdust Art Festival. West of Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove State Park’s unspoiled beach attracts snorkelers and divers.

"Honeymoon"
We first checked in (late) they were so nice they gave us a free bottle of wine and upgraded us to a ocean view room with a jetted bath tub. Valet was really nice and fast. The beach house was sooooo good the food was just always amazing with great service. I heard it was always loud because of parties but it was really quite and romantic. "Very pleased"
We did not have a renovated room, but it was very decent and nice and clean. The ocean view was outstanding. Service was above and beyond throughout our stay. If you're looking for comfort and a great view, this is a great place to stay. Definitely not a 5 star hotel - is older, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"First time stay"
This was out first time to this hotel. The staff was very nice and to our surprise a crib was supplied for our baby plus they left him a little stuffed animal. Very nice room and steps from the beach. The only thing is we were not in a beachfront room so we wanted to go sit on a deck and they had no deck. But other then that it was a wonderful stay. […] We liked it so much we stayed an extra day. We will be back. Thank you! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"unbeatable location"
I got a great price and overall I feel it was a great value at a casual but perfectly-located property. This property is an older beach hotel. There have been recent cosmetic updates, but it still has the feeling of being a beach place. The rooms are not posh, but my king-bed room was large enough for a table and two chairs as well as a sitting chair, […] and it also included two bedside tables and a credenza. In other words, spacious. I had an ocean-front room and the best part of my stay was listening to the waves and looking at the view for two solid days. The balcony was directly above the beach--ideal. There seemed to be a lot of families there, so if you're not into a location with kids running around, this may not be for you. The hotel has valet, which is important because parking in Laguna Beach is a hot commodity. From this location, you can walk all over town. If you want beach front views and easy beach access, this might be the place for you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Place to stay"
We had such a nice time at this hotel. It was very clean, the shower was awesome, and the staff was excellent. The hotel is right on the beach and centered in the bustling little town of Laguna Beach, which we immediately fell in love with. We rented a two bedroom suite with a kitchen. If I were to list any negatives, they would be that our room overlooked […] the valet parking area, which was noisy. Also, that the valet parking was mandatory and $20/night. The kitchen had two pots and an old steak knife, no dishes, utensils, etc. The furniture was in disrepair, and the maid didn't leave any extra toilet paper, even when the roll was almost gone. Even with the negatives though, we enjoyed ourselves immensely, and enjoyed the hotel very much. We would definitely stay again if they run another special. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

While visiting my son in LA I got an email about last minute getaways and Pacific Edge Hotel was one of the listed hotels. "Cannot beat the price for ocean front room"
Great place! Been coming here for over 20 years. The new owners have incorporated "Cabanas" and the "Deck" bar/restaurant below the rooms in the main building. If you want peace and quiet I would recommend a room in one of the other towers. The "Valet" service was not always great especially if you need your car while there is a party in one of the […] Cabana. Not sue why it was so difficult to get towels at the pool and spa area but we just grabbed two and kept them in our room so we could use the spa when we wanted. Beach House food was quite disappointing not sure if it was on off night or new ownership. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We could not have been happier with this hotel! The staff was amazing and the hotel was beautiful. We stayed with our 4 year old son over the 4th of July and we all had such a great time. "Hang Ten and High Five!"
I found this hotel on Trip Advisor for a recent vacation to Southern California. If you are looking for the sterileness and pomp of The Ritz or a Four Seasons, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a fairly clean, REALLY fun, center of Laguna Beach action spot, right on the ocean, this is the place to stay. We paid a bit extra for a room with a balcony […] overlooking the beach, which I would HIGHLY recommend. Yes, you have to pay $20 a day for valet parking, but you can leave/return unlimited times, and best of all you never have to worry about parking which is very limited in this town. Their on-location bar and restaurant are "Killer-Fun", only exceeded by early morning walks on the beach, literally right outside your door. The hotel has beach chair lounges and towels for the asking. A couple of pools and hot tube if you are more of that sort of individual. If you are going to be entertaining a group (birthday, bachlor party, etc) the hotel offers semi private cabanas which looked very nice. The front desk crew was very service oriented and professional. Yes, definitely the next time my family needs a fix of sand in their toes and sun on their faces, we will be staying again at the Pacific Edge Hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel. A return trip in future."
Hotel was really nice. We had a two-bedroom suite which was spacious and very clean. The front desk staff was wonderful. When we called for the towels, sheets for couch, car, etc., they were very nice and delivered our request very quickly. The $20/night madatory valet parking does add-up. However, we used it several times a day and always the car was […] always waiting on us when we got to the lobby. Fresh, hot coffee was always available in the lobby in the mornings and cool, refreshing water with oranges in the afternoon. Would definitely stay here next time in Laguna.
