La Casa del Camino - Laguna Beach

This was a perfect location on the beach and a short walk to downtown Laguna Beach. The casita was spacious and could have slept 6 comfortably...possibly even 8 if you had a blow-up mattress for the loft space. One downfall is the Rooftop bar closed early on Monday (Labor Day) at 8:45pm. So that was unfortunate. We ended up having breakfast there instead...WORST […] SERVICE EVER! Be forewarned! La Casa del Camino is a charming, "old California" hotel. Our room was not only comfortable but decorated very stylishly. It had everything one could want or need in a hotel room. A free breakfast buffet also made the stay a nice one. The rooftop bar is a highlight, one that apparently even the natives appreciate.

It was bad all around. The welcome was not very warm. Before I could even park the car, one of the staff ,members directed me to park in a different spot, further away to unload my luggage. Inside the Hotel it smelled funny, was crowded ( in a bad ) way. We had rooms 209 and 208, they are tiny!!!! my mother kept banging her leg on the bed cause there […] was no way to walk around it. The rooms smelled bad too. The partial ocean view a joke more a view of a parking lot and endless delivery trucks. We could not sleep all night cause they cleaned the carpet with a pressure cleaner, first in the Hotel ( my haed was vibrating like crazy) and then after 2 hours they stopped for 10min went next door and started cleaning there. I was sooo mad, called the reception. The man was not understanding at all, a a simple "Oh I am sorry but this is the only time the restaurant is empty so we can clean" ????? what? and not let your costumers sleep?We called Hotels.com and cancelled our 2nd night and moved to the Pacific Edge Hotel down the street - best Hotel ever. I will never set foot into the La Casa del Camino. Read more

I had a tiny but charming and lovely room! The hotel has everything-a beautiful rooftop lounge, "K'ya" small plates restaurant in lobby, a nice complementary breakfast with eggs, sausage, coffee tea, cereal toast & sweet rolls. There is really no reason to leave the hotel at all, since it has everything, except that you'll want to go to the near-by […] beach and the cute little downtown area! The only negatives were that the shower goes from warm-never hot water to freezing cold without you touching the faucet it at all. Also that staying on the 2nd floor can be really noisy due to the bar patrons using the nearby restrooms and the elevator to go up & down to the rooftop bar. Read more

Great hotel. Great area. Comfortable room. Clean and updated. Good hotel restaurant and great view from upstairs lounge. Only slight downside was that parking was across the street but they had easy loading/unloading zone next to the hotel making it fine.
