The location of this place was great. The beach is within walking distance. The clubs and bars are also close so there is very little need for driving. The rooms were decently sized. Batteries in electronic door lock and safe needed to be replaced upon arrival. Staff quickly resolved minor issues with can-do attitude. The overall stay was good but the cleanliness and up keep of the room itseld should have been inspected/maintained better. There were several things that I did not like were: the bathroom floor was not clean, there was human hair on the floor from previous stays, the toilet seat did not cover the entire toilet and was too little, there was a cut in […] the curtains, the bedspread had a hole in it where the threads came out and the rotating tv wall was broken and we could only watch tv from the bed and the light in the ceiling fan did not work. I like the kitchen area and the futon in the main area. The bed was comfortable. The only thing that went wrong was the toilet wasn't flushing properly. It's a great location and for the price a good value to be located right in the epicenter of South Beach. My studio even had a small kitchen so nice for longer stays. On the downside, hot water is very difficult, on my first night there I could not get any but in the morning I let it run for like 20 minutes and finally got enough for a shower. What […] a waste of water. The light above the bed flickered because they have a CFL bulb installed on a dimmer switch. Bed was OK but not great. Bathroom could have used some attention, the toilet would run unless you jiggled the handle and it could use a better cleaning. If you are on a budget and want a decent place to stay in South Beach then I recommend it...Parking is off site valet at $20 a night or the parking garage on 12th street 1-1/2 blocks away which is about $14 overnight. I am not sure if the rooms further back are less noisy but I expect that they are less noisy. We were literally on the street. This is not the hotel's fault but just a fact of being on Collins. It's probably a warning for any hotel on Collins, not only this one. except for the highrise hotels around 16th street. I was a little disappointed that there was no coffee refill daily. Not sure if it policy or just a bad day for staff. The kitchenette was nice to have but we did not use it. Overall, it's a reasonable hotel at a reasonable price. "Much better than expected!"
I really love the hotel. It is close to the beach. The suite has everything in it. Much better than expected! The only problem is that I was waken up by the trash track in the early morning, probably because my suite is at the end of the hotel in the back. In a few words: Clean, Quiet, Decent, Affordable, Centric, Simple and Free Internet, I was able to get a good signal from my room. I went on a rented car, the first night I used a Valet Parking Service that they offer but the second night I found out that there is a Public Parking Lot a few feets away on the same street. Bars, Restaurants and the beach […] is almost across the street, the hotel is close to Bongos Bar - you just dont get the noise when you decide to rest. Just one drawback: if you want to make a call from your room, probably you will have to use your cell, I was not able to make an outbound call from my room, but it was OK as long as I had Internet and my Cellphone, maybe it was a temporary problem with the Telephone system.
