"Dirty, but great location and customer service"
Overall, this hotel wasn't bad. I spent a lot of time reviewing hotels in the area and it seemed like a decent place in a good location. I would say my initial research proved to be correct. Compared to my "way of living" it was not up to par. However, compared to South Beach's "way of living" it wasn't bad. South Beach is a dirtier place than I am […] used to. We stayed here two different nights, once before our cruise and once after. The second time around was in a better and larger room, which was also cleaner. The first room was a little dirty and we had to plunge the toilet every time we used it. The second room the towels were dirty and had black hairs on them (my husband and I do not have black hair). Both rooms had dirty pillows and blankets that just felt grimy. The stair railing was literally detached from the wall in one of the buildings and was not safe at all. However, the staff and customer service were amazing. Both times they got us into our room way before 3 (the check in time). They also held onto our bags while we were waiting for our rooms to be ready so we could wander. Beach towels were provided which was nice as well. Also, the location was amazing. Walking distance to everything! The look of the rooms was nice and the small kitchen was an added bonus. We stayed in the studios both times. The free wifi was also great. "Served its purpose for 2 club goers"
My friend and I stayed at the Ocean Reef Suites for three nights during Columbus Day weekend. We were allowed to check into a studio, which consisted of a queen sized bed, a futon couch, a small dining room set, kitchenette (equipped with a mini fridge and microwave), and a handicapped bathroom. The first thing we did was check for evidence of bed bugs […] and none were found, however, a huge urine stain on the mattress was very off putting. The bed sheets and remainder of the room appeared to be cleaned, but the black futon cover looked very old which made us question its own cleanliness. The bathroom was very spacious, but ironically enough, there was no counter or shelf space to put your things aside from the small basin. The water pressure was horrible, but we made due for the weekend. Overall, the room was VERY spacious. We could have easily housed 4 people comfortably - more if wanted. For the price, it served its purpose, which was to offer us a place to rest our head after clubbing into the wee hours of the morning and to offer us a place to shower when we returned from the beach each day. It was a ok, experience, the room studio was not bad, need some repair work, most of the lights were out needed light bows change. Bathroom need some work, updates. The room was large and updated. It was in a great location very close to the action and the beach. One issue was that the air conditioners made the room smell bad. "Optimistic but Disappointed"
I was so optimistic about this hotel after reading the majority of the reviews but after staying there I have to say I am disappointed. The 1st and BIGGEST problem was that we had roaches in our room! YUCK! I was terrified that I might take some home with me and that is unsettling. 2nd was that our end room face a wall on one side and an alley on the […] other side. In the alley they collected the trash LOUDLY every morning around 8-9am. So there was no sleeping in. 3rd our room was on the 2nd floor and there are no elevators so it made dragging our bags up pretty hard. And 4th the business center is not free. And the price, you cannot beat on South Beach. And there was also free Wi-Fi so that was a plus. Stayed there for the Christmas days 2010. Location is unbeatable. Hallway looks cheap and outdated. Rooms are really big. Got an upgrade to a suite with kitchen etc. Bathroom needs maintainance. Everything was ok except they could work a little more on the customer service. It was nearly impossible to get a hold of someone from the front desk and on two occasions had to call and talk so someone twice. We called because we didn't get towels, our sink was plugged and there was no dish liquid or rags for doing dishes. The bed sheets and pillow was old and had a dirty stain on them.The carpet needed hoovering.However we did ask for it th be change and it was and the floor hoovered.The next time when the pillow cases got change the dirty ones was left on the floor. Lage: Das Hotel liegt zwischen zwei Shops an der Hauptverkehrsstraße der Insel. Daher kann es abends wie auch nachts lauter werden, wenn man nach vorne raus ein Zimmer hat. Ausstattung: neben Fernseher und Küchenausstattung (Mikrowelle, Kaffeekocher und zwei separat anzuschließende (Camping)Kochplatten) gut ausgestattet. Nachholbedarf liegt eindeutig […] im Badezimmer. Die Dusche war schlecht verfliest, der Boden angelaufen. Ohne Badelatschen nicht zu empfehlen. Definitiv zu machen: FENSTER. Wir haben die Vorhänge nicht aufgezogen, weil man sowieso nicht herausgucken konnte. Wir hoffen darauf, dass es nur Bauschutt an den Fenstern war. Wäschewechsel: Täglich ließen wir die Handtücher wechseln. Jeden Tag wurden wir anders ausgestattet, mindestens immer ein Handtuch weniger als am Tag zuvor. POSITIVO: è pulito; le camere sono carine e spaziose e arredate bene da IKEA; prestano gli asciugamani mare gratis; zona centralissima sia per ristorati e negozi che per la spiaggia bellissima di […] Lummus Park; Per la colazione, visto che non c'è il ristorante dell'albergo, ci sono tuttavia moltissimi piccoli locali adatti, molto vicino. NEGATIVO: il bagno è vecchio e si vede (tuttavia non è sporco, è solo vecchio!); In camera non ci sono cassetti o ripiani per svuotare la valigia (MOLTO SCOMODO!!! Ti costringe ad un grande disordine, con tutti i vestiti in giro!) La connessione gratuita wi-fi è debolissima ed è impossibile accedere dalla camera (almeno dalla mia); C'è la cucina, il sapone piatti e la spugnetta, ma non lo scolapiatti (anche questo ti costringe a fare disordine).
