The outward appearance wasn't very appealing and the hotel is located right off of a very busy one way street. Parking was limited but free. The room was clean and comfortable. "The worst surroundings on Miami Beach."
This place is in the most underdeveloped area on Miami Beach. There is no any restranant, shopping places around. You have to drive south to eat dinner, buy things, and pay parking fees for tour, etc. The room is so close to road and so noisy I cannot sleep at all. Never do that again. "Great old style motel"
Although this was an older motel, the price was good for the area, without the parking or reosrt fees. Room very clean with no mildew smell at all, which usually happens with old hotels in the south. The Beach Place Hotel is not the 4 Seasons, lets get that out of the way. This hotel is your basic run of the mill hotel, no frills. I don't say this to be mean or disparage the hotel, I say it because it is, what it is. I picked this hotel for the affordability, and the proximity to the beach. I didn't pick this hotel for its extra features. I needed […] a place to sleep, that was quiet, clean and comfortable; and this hotel hit on all marks. I was unaware this hotel had a pool, which was a plus when I didn't feel like laying on the beach, I could chill by the pool. The hotel has free WiFi which I also didn't know about, which was another huge plus as my Sprint service sucked in that area for some reason. They also have a computer in the lobby which you can use for free. The room was very clean, and although we didn't use the housekeeping services, I always saw them walking around cleaning the facility. I did leave a tip for Doris, our housekeeper as the room was a little messy. The only negatives I had about my stay were the Venetian blinds in the room, and the parking. The blinds didn't cover the windows properly at the end, and I sometimes felt like people could see in at night. If you weren't parked by a certain time, parking was hard to find . I liked my room as it wasn't too small and even had a small couch. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been if they had had blow dryers in the rooms and irons and ironing boards. "A great value"
When I first arrived I had some concerns when I saw it. It is an older place on a busy street a block and a half from the ocean that faces away from the ocean. I had two kitchenette units reserved and the person in the office was pleasant and we got checked in without a problem. We found while the place was older, and showed some wear, it was well […] maintained and the rooms very clean. Both our units appeared to have been recently painted. It appears that the rooms were originally built for two full-size beds and all now have two queen beds so it is a little tight getting into the bathroom (which have showers only - no tubs) but not that much of a problem. The kitchenettes do not have dishes and flatware, but they do provide a few paper plates and some plasticware. We had no problems with that. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff did a very good job. I saw that they contracted out their pool maintenance (watched them clean it) and it was clean and well maintained. The grounds were clean and well maintained. It is a half block walk to a large ocean side park. It has a lot of trees, pinic areas etc. Walking through the park (about a block) get you to the beach. We all were very pleased with our stay. English was not the primary language for the majority of the staff but they were all friendly, and helpful, and the place clean and very secure (grounds are covered by security cameras).
